Action cam / similar for stills security
tomcctv replied to larryplum's topic in General Digital Discussion
That's simple you stated it. And it's simple the sports cam does not have pre or post recording So set at motion ..... By the time face (or person or car) activates cam to take photo ...... The image will not be there. And you have no chance of getting a number plate. you only need 2mp -

Xinray Shenzhen china review *** Buyer Beware *** Warning **
tomcctv replied to harry_Smith's topic in Security Cameras
Dorris. ..... looking at your return reply ..... customer still needs to pay the return cost ..... which sending things back to chine can cost 3 to 4 times more Also your reply ..... has the unit been used ... as it will effect the second sale ? It would of had to of been used to find out it could not connect to a nas As you said it would. But like anything from China it costs a fortune to send things back. To the point that money would of been saved if bought from hikvision USA direct. Price difference.... How much was original nvr ? How much is the replacement nvr that works with nas What is the price difference? Then add the buyers return costs Then add the extra money you want for the right nvr And then you will charge again for sending replacement back out You don't need a calculator to work out there is no point sending it back. But you could make it easy ..... uses FedEx to send and collect from the buyer -
Swann cameras, far off
tomcctv replied to bkvanbek's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Your problem is the distance ...... You are exceeding the 100m distance for IP. Regardless of power being at the gate. You have a few options One is swap out your Swann NVR and go for a hybrid that does both IP cameras and 2mp cvi cameras. You can then run 4 cvi 2mp cameras to you gate with just one cat5 cable...........this is your cheapest option. Or you can use IP extenders ......which will cost you a lot more than NVR swap plus 4 cvi cameras. Going the IP extender option don't buy the cheap China stuff These are the best for IP transmition http://www.veracityglobal.com -
More crap from junk china
-
So in your store how do you quickly look back at something 5 minutes ago ??? ....... you need to pay monthly just for that option Your wrong dvr or nvr are the heart of your system..... you could also setup your own cloud and not have high 3rd party costs for something you already own Good luck with sending your images to server based in India .... waste of money

Hi. With aver not supports anything the last view years ..... You are best finding something else. Which cameras are you trying to connect and how many
-
Hi. Being in the uk you would work on cameras for around the £45 mark. Cvi 2mp and the recorder around the £120 mark for a hybrid This will allow you to use your existing cameras plus 2mp HD

Trust me ..... kids start to learn the minute there born. Earlier the better for preschool You don't want your kids on making the mistake of going through the process registering to a CCTV forum to ask about there kids future. I hope this helps http://www.parents.com/toddlers-preschoolers/starting-preschool/curriculum/why-preschool-matters/

tomcctv replied to Offspring2099's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Just for a quick test what happends when you just connect 1 camera ?? This could be something as simple as your recorder is set for wrong region PAL instead of NTSC. You might find the setting in setup or record menu -
Hi. This one will work https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mm.android.direct.gdmsspadLite&hl=en_GB

Time Jump in Security Cam Footage tampering or glitch?
tomcctv replied to securemystery's topic in Security Cameras
Hi it would not match realtime ... as your only altering footage speed. Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean. If I have security footage which does not match up with real time (as in it's a bit slower) does this mean someone purposefully slowed it down? Thanks. No it just means your playback footage is not realtime. Do you think someone has been playing with footage ?? Or have you requested footage you think might have been played with ? -
Wireless hybrid? Lorex (by Flir) vs. Hikvision
tomcctv replied to oneirishpollack's topic in Security Cameras
Arlo has got a back up option, and agree with TheF too. if u're not into cables, wifi cams are your best option. Arlo is over priced .... never own anything ..... ... the lorex system op posted is cheaper and will own it. -
Hi what problems are you having ? How old is your unit ? Old units won't have a firmware upgrade..

How to upgrade Onvif ip camera
tomcctv replied to jordanthomson's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi Tom Thanks for replying. Ok, so, ill get one of these poE switches you were talking about, i couldn't find one in PC world for that price but will this one do the same job https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B014XEPT72/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_AK0AzbTX4D3S4 So when everything is connected to this switch (ethernet internet supply and the two cameras) ill be able to get the direct IP address from my internet hub of the cameras to have full management control? am i correct? Jordan Hi. Yes that is correct. Also gives you more options on recording with other software. If you only have two cameras then this might do you. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing-accessories/networking/network-routers-and-switches/network-switches/tp-link-tl-poe200-2-port-ethernet-switch-10147755-pdt.html
