PLEASE HELP, I'm losing my mind trying to find a home system
tomcctv replied to bassett72's topic in System Design
Hi I have never bought a lorex system You can use all dahua apps Reviews are pointless ...... .... and you will find bad reviews about anything see the 2 you listed first...... both just for 4 cams and nvr supply only ....over $1000.......... over $500 of list price ..... yet your considering them. You will always loose your mind reading reviews or listening to salesmen. But the reason a recommended lorex ....... you are new to cctv. And many people who are going to install there first system intact waste that budget and buy crap I could find the same products on eBay for you ...... but I think you would like warranty or support and updates...... which you don't get from eBay I am not selling you anything ...... but look at cost .... saved you $400 And on my link the system is bigger spec than the others -

tomcctv replied to darnetheous's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Yes thanks for wasting out time with your crap Anyone who uses geo knows the v3 only works with geo PC Card and software It's only some one who buys cheap China junk and thinks they can send data into its USB Give up installing you have no clue ...... but just so as everyone else can see here is the PDF v3 manual........ the v3 you say can be connected to none pc based system http://pd.geovision.tw/faq/POS/GV-DataCaptureV3E-B.pdf Don't cry it's a easy mistake ....... I can do PDF in crayon if that's better for you -
PLEASE HELP, I'm losing my mind trying to find a home system
tomcctv replied to bassett72's topic in System Design
Hi. They are stupid prices. The lorex link is a good little unit and will do what you need But if you spend $630 you will have a much better system than any of the quotes you have This is the best out of them all https://www.lorextechnology.com/site/LN10802-84W-1-p -
Installing a POS Overlay Data Capture CCTV, need advice.
tomcctv replied to darnetheous's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
How did you get the data to the dvr in the past V3 needs software to work and control. And you can't load v8040 onto a standalone. USB on funlux DOES not allow data. Also you NEED PC with geo software to set the v3. So going back to original issue is pointless Go back 4-5 years in forum history and you will find the manual It is also the same capture box for the avermedia which I have used both a lot and also the VSI-pro which I know is your better option for analog standalone -

Simple view of my backyard that I can record
tomcctv replied to lostsoul65's topic in General Digital Discussion
Using the trademark hypeIR ..... Might also be a big problem (look it up its protected). But that will not bother Montavue since they like to make people think they make everything Montavue ...... World leader in surveillance There is a big problem to that claim........ First don't believe everything you read. Second ...... There website and domain is new. And for a claimed high tech company ..... A rookie mistake the domain name has not had the order tag removed . ...... Needs to go on web designe page and edit home page and remove domain reg date tag ................ It show up in search engine I have no problem with montavue and there in business but I do have a problem with sales crap and bad claims World leader ..... Is never a good thing to say ........... Using trademark names like hypeir ( is a product not linked to CCTV) Here are the last 5 numbers of dahua order 53948 I won't list the stock ........ But it's all standard. There are a few on the forum who buy direct ....... And when we ask dahua the question why is montavue getting new tech cams........ Well you can guess there reply hence order check.. Montavue ....... Are missing out on sales by not saying dahua products ....... He buys direct from dahua ........ Which means no china black market. Starlight is new tech and people look for that ......... People have no clue of hypeir because it does not exist as a product name was created by Montavue to hide fact it's a starlight Customers will by from Montavue set it up only to find the produced is dahua anyway........Montavue cloud setup takes you to dahua Sales people are better off saying it. as it is ........adding crap only sounds alarm bells -
Help me Choose a system. Linux savvy but want to stay away
tomcctv replied to vjfromgt's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. I would go with the lorex system but not the one you have listed as it is old stock. Go direct to lorex and save money. This is $100 cheaper but is also better than the one you have listed. https://www.lorextechnology.com/hd-ip-security-camera-system/high-definition-surveillance-camera-system-with-2mp-cameras/LN10802-166W-1-p -
Stand alone, internal memory, programmable outdoor camera
tomcctv replied to videobruce's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. Your only option is IP. IP cameras don't have to be on a network to record to SD. (Only needed for setup) Your looking for tvi with SD card ...... They don't exist Dahua cvi are bringing one out this year. Tvi is all done at dvr end ........ Cvi is camera end -

tomcctv replied to lostsoul65's topic in General Digital Discussion
Yes your right about the app .... Which is what I said but they claim I also have the problem with understanding development of hypeIR I had to Wait till this morning to get some info ....... I see montavue ordered direct from dahua .... (As do we since 2004) Order shows nothing other than standard DAHUA cameras and recorders. -
Hi. Getting some sound shows your mic is working. But audio on dvrs need to be amplified on audio out so as you have control of volume. You need to connect your dvr audio output to some speakers A cheap set of PC speakers. Will work

Help with mobile/remote view cctv
tomcctv replied to randomtraveller's topic in Computers/Networking
Hi. They are a pig to setup ...... they are also security checked by your isp. Tel tel are in Cheshire a small company which is sometimes best if you need to have a 1 to 1 conversation If you give them a call and ask to speak to Alan Gray and give him your recorder local ip 192.168.1.204 and port that too 34567 Also ask them for a static ip which is much better than a ddns and more secure with static from tel tel -

Ah cool! So this product removes the need to drill holes in the wall? You just install one device inside and another one where the nvr is? No mounting camera still needs fixing or you still need to get power to it A lot of adverts say the benifits of wifi is no holes........ which is crap as they still need power....... so same size hole if power or Ethernet

Simple view of my backyard that I can record
tomcctv replied to lostsoul65's topic in General Digital Discussion
Just shows you know nothing. Lorex is owned by flir who have a full production licence. There recorders look nothing like dahua ones. As far as app ..... first it's just the lite app and it has only had 4 downloads from the App Store ..... again it's dahua app and just had badge changed. So you are happy in your claim that he sells better cameras and that dahua supplies him with better cameras than what dahua produce for everyone else. The sales man lies to you he lies on website about them being the developers -
Any weather proof rj45 connector that works with Axis E cams
tomcctv replied to avraam's topic in Security Cameras
No. Not wrong . The black kit ......take a look at it .....it is pointless and none Poe for axis......... But besides that why would you waterproof the rj45 and not the power plug........ Then a couple of inches away you have another rj45 there is nothing in the kit to waterproof that .....pointless. For axis Not used one yet ........ But say am wrong -
Hi. Networked all the time ...,, wifi has too many problems ..... but with products like netgear Ethernet over power there is no point going wifi
