Cat5 from house to gate .... Distance is not a problem. Also connect camera to dvr at house and use the onboard relay on dvr to control gates ... By push button and remote from dvr app for android or iOS

It's also good to see how crap it is made...... electrical tape to stop components rubbing is also a clear sign of crap Grease on bottom also sign of crap. Also battery operated .... why use a uncommon battery type ?? $20 a month for batteries..... be cheaper to plug in.
