Installation help and advice please
tomcctv replied to sparky-matt's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi Matt Yes cat5 is good but you will have to use baluns at each end. As far as network from loft to router it is easier to use eithernet over power . Something like these. http://www.netgear.co.uk/home/products/networking/powerline/PL1200.aspx?cid=wmt_netgear_organic -

Camera picture loss after a few minutes
tomcctv replied to heaton231's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. Yes you are good with shotgun.... you will also see a little improvement with coax as that is 75ohm unlike the cable kits you are using now. Also the power conductors are too small and not allowing the amps your cameras need -
Camera picture loss after a few minutes

Hi. The cable kits are cheap and are not for cctv even though the sellers say they are. Go with cat5 with baluns ..... 1 pair for video and the rest split for power -
Need help finding system with specific requirements
tomcctv replied to dan40's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. You are asking a lot for $400 are you using the system for security ? Wireless require cable for power .... so I would look at network over power that way you can use better ip cameras. More than 10 people at time to view. That can be done with apps But is your internet up to it -
Hi yes it will .... why do you think there is a firmware problem ? Are you getting any image

DVR Recommendations to replace existing system
tomcctv replied to rtq2334's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. Your current cameras are analog so will not run on your first link listed. Your last link is a good unit and will run your existing cameras ... and it also allows you to update your cameras later to HD cameras. I would also surgest if you order that recorder also order 1 CVI camera...... then you will see the difference Your last link is a dahua unit -

Hi. Can you post pictures of your system screen and also list the app you used for remote view.

Hi. It says compatable with tvi. On your camera display bottom left click on the cam icon and pic tvi. Did you install a HDrive
-
Hi. You best and cost effective option is to use IP cameras daisy chain type. Camera link from one to the other giving you 900ft on one cable (300m). And you don't have the added cost of power and switches every 300ft
