Connecting NVR and POE Switch on Different Routers
tomcctv replied to htb1's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi yes your info is accurate....NVR = network video recorder. Your cameras can be in one place and NVR other side of world. There are problems also associated with doing it ...... Loss of Internet connection video image reduced. But a cheap way around that is two NVRs..... One at camera location the other at monitoring location ..... This way has the advantage of two lots of recording storage at two locations. -

How to use 1080p BNC camera from 900ft ?
tomcctv replied to randalmorn's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. That format is only good for 300ft you can use repeaters but they cost a lot .... 900ft will need two repeaters so an extra $150 to 200 on each camera Be cheaper to send the SDI system back and go cvi. Thank you for your response. 10 of 16 cameras will be under 300ft. range, but 6 of 16 cameras will be 900ft. range. Any other alternatives to repeater? Hi. Not with SDI....... It can't run on baluns or cat5. And the repeaters are not that reliable It's going to cost you around 2k in repeaters Your best option is to swap dvr for a tribrid use your existing SDI for under 300 and use cvi cameras for above ...... Lot less than the 2k cost -

Yes like many are very familiar with TVT. 4 years ago they refused any support to 60% of there distributors and would not replace units. It's clear you don't know dahua if you think the interface is different to there cvi ..... It's the same interface for cvi tvi ahd 960h and IP. TVT has the most basic interface on the market .... It's budget DIY Look at avermedia interface As a installer you should be fitting a system for the environment it is protecting with features that are needed for that customer. Sticking with one format you are not giving your customers the service of an install company.
-
Dahua runs both tvi and cvi. Cvi is now upto 4mp. You can't compare TVT to anything else .... It's the lowest budget system on the market.
-
Hi. Move away from tvi ... Open source tend to be the same. Your list of dislikes is long and does not leave much left. Try dahua cvi or start using IP systems.
