Question about Analog to Digital converters
tomcctv replied to SMS's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. A encoder would not degrade your image .... But it looks like you are using analog HD. And that would be cvi tvi or AHD and that is your problem ....... They are expensive. Some HD analog allow you to output analog and then you can add a encoder which are a lot cheaper than HD encoders. But you would then loose the camera from your recorder. Adding a IP camera just for your ANPR at same location is the cheapest. If you are using cvi you can recall an IP from the recorder if your software allows that option. -

Changing from the default ports to thwart Mirai/others
tomcctv replied to seacoug's topic in Computers/Networking
Hi. Changing ports or a mirai attack is not going to help. And with a 2 year old unit I don't think you have a mirai problem. Most of the problems of 2016 involved P2P setup which allowed things past your firewall You need to open your network and check for open ports 20 to 29 you should block them. If your router is old I would change that. The new range of netgear alerts you to anything which wants to alter your setting and logs and blocks suspicious threats. -
Dahua is much better than hik Here are two dahua and they watch anything upto a mile away so 500m is not a problem. Ignore the 4g box at the top but you can see it's hard to see the smart ir or were the camera is pointing
-
Hi. ffbgr Thanks for the pics. I was checking if it was still a dahua unit ..... And it is. The QC range is supposed to be q-see pro system but after looking at your links q-see have removed the run man button ...... Why they would remove it as its a main search feature. So yes you are right it will make motion search long and difficult. As far as getting images to your PC .... Just load dahua PSS software onto PC and you can watch search and backup from there . It takes some learning but you will get used to it. Tomorrow I will send you a better manual and other software for your PC. This is the missing button (found in playback)

Lorex LNR400 Audio and RCA's..
tomcctv replied to BlueLightCCTV's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Wasted your time How is that ......... Read your post ..... But you have already edited to make me look bad. But I stand by my reply IP camera with audio input is your only option You are looking for a option that is not there. Am I in bed with lorex ...... Silly question You have a dahua system to which I am a authorised dealer. Lorex are part of flir who are dahua partners. So I know I gave the right reply Your mic will be analog. So it needs decoding and that is done at the camera end and added to the digital video signal that is sent to the NVR. So say it's cam 2 = cam2 with audio. So no a simple bit of programming will not work. -

Hi. Buying a cvi encoder will be twice the price if not more of a IP camera. There is no cheap way around it -
Yes you are right ..... But 500m with 940 ..... You are not going to find ..... And not with a smoke dome..... Or any dome PTZ with IR because they don't exist. Camera housing with attached IR .... Something like a Pelco..... But you will see the full head move 500m away no one is going to see the IR.

Lorex LNR400 Audio and RCA's..

You have been given the basic answer and the way of doing what you ask. So if you think the advise was nothing ... then there is no helping you. It's simple yet you don't understand You are right. I don't understand, which is the motivation for joining this forum and asking questions. AND, the internet is full of but that isn't enough. As for your answers, at least with my topics, they have been very short and lacking description, or anything else that will cure my "Headache" causing ways. Remember, and look through your posts...... I'm sure that you could tell me with broken and short sentences, how it is to be born with "Be All End All" knowledge. integrator |ˈin(t)əˌɡrādər| noun a person or thing that integrates You are integrating assumptions, that I view as insults, while ignoring this.....viewtopic.php?f=35&t=3144. . . . Lorex LNR400 Audio and RCA's..
tomcctv replied to BlueLightCCTV's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Listen it's simple ..... IP camera with audio input....... That input is a RCA plug Your mic has a RCA plug ........PLUG THEM TOGETHER IT IS THAT SIMPLE BUT since you would rarther argue than understanding ..... Then keep it up. You post a problem you get a answer .... Yet it's not good enough for you. Here is a picture ....... If you still have a problem post back and I will draw one with a crayon for you. You will need to extend the RCA cable the 30m to your mic location -

Thanks for the reply, but the original topic post stated as to why I am looking for something else. I have cut out the extra, from the quote. ' ' ' I can see why lorex support got a headache Run the feed from mic to your camera But you need a camera with a RCA audio input ..(not a cam with audio built in) -
Lorex MCNB3153 WIRING DIAGRAM
tomcctv replied to SKYNAD's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Thanks for the reply, but to restate what I am trying to accomplish here...... IP cameras to a IP NVR..... and I have one extra BNC camera that I need some sort of adapter, to hook up to my Ethernet cables and then to my NVR. I thanked the OP for stating the wiring colors and functions, and hoped that this will start my process. Can you produce a useful link? . . . The wiring will not help or work for BNC camera. You need an encoder but buying another IP camera will be cheaper. -

Thanks for the description. This will help, as I am trying to find a way to get my BNC camera hooked up to my PoE ethernet cables. I am also trying to get the RCA plugs (on the back of the NVR) to accept audio from a functioning microphone. Do you have any ideas for that? Thanks.. ; ; ; No this will not help you at all. .... This is for IP cameras ONLY. -
Dahua does not have a dome. But it's all black and hard to see head move. Does it matter which IR spectrum you use........ 500m. Why do you think the hik is better ?
-
Hi. Take a look at the Dahua SD59430U-HN. Over 500m is not a problem day or night.

Looking for ptz ip camera
tomcctv replied to Kopernikus's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Because your budget is too low. Do you think adding a tinted dome to a camera is all it takes ....... Does it not alter brightness in the dome ?? Go back 5 years on the forum and look at gold domes .... Tinted domes ......... We used to make them ....... But I will say you can't add them to cheap junk. How close are objects going to be to the PTZ ?? Implex...... Another name for hikvision ........ If that is what you believe -

Hi can you post a picture of the playback screen on your dvr ?
-
Hi. When ever you see 2.1 MP that is for tvi or cvi cameras and not IP which is POE. Tvi or cvi use coax or cat5 but also need a power feed IP is car5 and can have power in same cable POE -power over eithernet. But for your requirements you are not going to see the expression on the faces without also having some interaction with the screen. .... (Using mouse to zoom in) what is your budget. .?
