tomcctv replied to John Moriel's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
I guess no one can help with my issue, so it could be a warning to others not to buy or install hikvision. Hi. Why would you think it is a hikvision problem 20 cameras sent to your PC ...... Problem will be a mix of data network and your PC not being powerful enough. You will need to say how your network is set up and what PC you use -

QVIS Apollo messing up WIFI - help please
tomcctv replied to annoyednow's topic in Computers/Networking
Hi. Black or silver BT hub ?? Your problem could be DHCP. When you first setup your recorder did you pick DHCP in network menu to setup ? DHCP should be used once and then switched off once IP has been given ..... Leaving DHCP ticked will keep logging on the BT hub till you have 1000s which will slow your network down to nothing. Do a hard reset on your router (push pen tip into reset hole on back for 10 secs) BT will auto rest your log details . Go to recorder then go into network tick DHCP then wait till IP has shown in box then unclick DHCP and router will not fill up. Did you use a ddns service to keep your IP static ?? -

Give feedback, new VideoAnalytics/IntruderDetection service
tomcctv replied to nats_sw's topic in General Digital Discussion
Indeed, and I believe competition on trying to do it will make for better products for the end consumer. I saw their "use an iPad old phone approach" I just dont feel comfortable with those devices in low light conditions, but it sure makes for a great marketing push. CamIO can use both cell phones for video and IP cameras via RTSP streams. Also Avigilon has their own which will be released soon. They can do is onsite without any connection to the cloud. YwyvVziR7oA The avigilon is impressive only seen demo for about 40 mins it's a lot more that person detect. -
Hi.tom what colour is your unit black or white case ? It sounds like you have only one recording option picked. This is the latest gui is yours the same or only 1 line .

Give feedback, new VideoAnalytics/IntruderDetection service
tomcctv replied to nats_sw's topic in General Digital Discussion
If a customer needs to send you a feed from there camera say 12hs a day that is extra data plan used. Also the same when you detect and you send footage back to the cell that's cell data plan use. But cell data will always be part of the plan if it's your own system sending the data or 3rd party. Vpn but last few months a private cloud box which takes 8 streams at a time and can still be accessed from apps or by other sorce like Dropbox and not direct to recorder that can stay of wan. -
