Latest Internet Attack may be caused by YOUR security camera
tomcctv replied to Billy_ICU's topic in General Digital Discussion
The Chinese Ministry of Justice has threatened legal action against "organisations and individuals" making "false claims" about the security of Chinese-made devices. It follows a product recall from the Chinese electronics firm Hangzhou after its web cameras were used in a massive web attack last week. The attack knocked out sites such as Reddit, Twitter, Paypal and Spotify. The Chinese government blamed customers for not changing their passwords. LOVE IT. legal action against anyone making false claims a Chinese company admits too. But there fixed on customers not changing passwords....... But people have to start thinking on how it got passed your network to get to the device the password was not changed on .....which means it still attracts network. P2P is the problem. It's like locking up your car with windows open ..... P2P is the window switch to your router -

Need Q-See NVR repair or replacement
tomcctv replied to TabithaGrace's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. Your unit should still be under warranty But you have a dahua system ..... So easy to find a replacement Look at lorex NVRs or if you want full support and long warranty look at IC realtime. And as your system is not working on IC realtime site look at downloads and load PSS onto your PC ..... This will allow you to run 2 or 4 of your cameras ..... Till you get sorted with another NVR Smart PSS ... Click on link from PC. http://www.icrealtime.com/support/software-downloads/smarticrss-remote-client-software_windows_2016-05-30.zip -
Have a read .....viewtopic.php?f=19&t=40240&p=293498&hilit=Hikvision+in+Chinese#p293498 Also hik do not sell on the likes of eBay sites. And if you look at most on eBay it says software not to be updated which means not true hikvision. So your not saving €30 ....you are wasting your initial cost which is higher. Then you have the new problem with cheap copy hik .... What are you going to run them on ?? Because they won't run on the new NVRs or hybrids.

Hi. I would take a look at the qvis pioneer Quattro recorder and 4 cameras either IP TVI or CVI That will be in your price range and it's all made by a south uk company so tech support is easy
-
They come in packs of two with all the cables needed
-
Yes it will work and no need for cable ..... You can run cat5 cable but by the time you learn how to put ends on and also cost ... The netgear is a cheap option
-
Hi. Have you thought of using these. https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/powerline/PL1200.aspx

Latest Internet Attack may be caused by YOUR security camera
tomcctv replied to Billy_ICU's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. It's not down to the security product as many of these reports say. Home networks or commercial networks can be made safe and it's simple to do. But the last 2 years free p2p and free cloud service is the main problem for Friday's attack. Buy any CCTV product and set it up yourself ignoring the makers instructions and your network will be safe. P2p and cloud .... This type of connection is plug it in to your network and it will auto config and setup..... But what IT truly means is. .... Plug in and it makes a big hole in your network take down your firewall and leave open for in out traffic Friday's attack took MAC address from 1000s of open networks and directed them to Dns.com. But people need to be educated quick ..... News reports blame CCTV equipment ..... But there is nothing to hack on a NVR DVRS or IP systems .... It's the free ease of setup p2p and cloud ..... That make it easy for your network to be open to anything. -
Hikvision is owned by the Chinese government
tomcctv replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. It as been known for over 2 years hik is state owned ..... Ezviz is a trade mark of hikvision also government owned ....... They stole the ezviz name from a USA company. Hik has also been involved in the copy of go pro products ..... And using the name GoPro China .... Something USA GoPro can't do anything about. It's not competition it's theft..... China government will use existing company names to sell there products. Not only cameras ..... Hummer and Lincoln cars are also inline of product theft . 4 years ago BMW tried to take China government to court over copy of X5 car and BMW lost. People wonder why the tax goes up when they buy China government products. People need to protect there own country products. -
Hi you don't need Internet out to each camera ..... All you need is a local network to each. Is you internet location in a building ?
-
Hi TVL has nothing to do with the camera you have listed. And you are making a big mistake if you buy direct from China ....waste of your money.

how to delete recordings from hi foucs AHD dvr
tomcctv replied to 3dsmaxed's topic in Digital Video Recorders
A cctv system becomes useless if anyone can go in and delete full or parts of footage. Say you was a store owner with bad staff cctv is useless if they can remove clips they don't want you to see
