    Compatibility Question on Lorex Cameras

Hi. RMA is there returns policy just like any other As far as help ..... It has taken you 6 posts to even say what your problem is. So now that you have people can start to help. In dvr settings under camera .... You will see day and night time options ..... You either need to remove the times from night mode or just un tick the night option (tick box to left of time) Also do the same for day mode. This then let's the camera turn from day to night auto from its own sensor

    Compatibility Question on Lorex Cameras

I think you will find they stopped taking your calls. Even on here you avoid answering questions on your problems I will answer this question for you . I think you keep returning your camera because the motorized lens is too slow ??? DIYers make the mistake of thinking motorized means zoom ..... But it's not ..... It's just a camera setup feature .... Can make tweeks to camera from recorder rarther than going up and down a ladder. But I think lorex will have tried to tell you that already.

    Compatibility Question on Lorex Cameras

If you want to go with Swann...... That is going backwards so good luck with that. Instead of venting your anger with lorex why don't you describe the problem you have with your recorder ??? How are cameras wired ? Power supply used ? How old is the firmware? Solving the problem might save you more money buying another recorder.

    Is Lorex Technology in Trouble?

Hi. Costco and the likes only sell the domestic units Lorex is far from being in trouble ... And there systems are dahua. It sounds like you have the cvi unit
  10. Hi. The problem you have is cameras do not match dvr Your cameras are AHD and your dvr is only analog. Your are best changing the dvr not the cameras Look for a AHD dvr
  11. Hi. The reason why I surgest that camera is you need to protect cars and you may find a time that you need to park a car in a different position .... So you can move the camera with your smartphone Yes it is the P400 but you need to look for IP version http://qvisglobal.com/downloads/dl/file/id/124/product/108/iptz_p400_10x_specification.pdf
  12. Hi. With your budget I would go CVI it is also plug and play even with hikvision There is not much differance between them all now.
  13. Hi standard cat5 or 6 will be a problem for you ..... Salt water it will not last long try and put in conduit and also use direct burial cat5 ..... Even tho your not going underground it's still the best to use with the eliments you have
  14. Hi. The same problem with a bird box camera ... It will not do what you need I would look at the small mini PTZ from qvis in the UK Can be bought for a lot less than the fixed axis listed and can be bought on cvi tvi IP formate. If you buy the IP formate it comes with its own software to run on your PC

Help with the start of my journey....

Hi. Before you learn about CCTV ..... Learn how forums work There not 24hr help lines .... You have to wait till someone reads your post. So start again South of England .... What is your budget ?? I would look at a 4 way IP system .... Will you be doing the install yourself ?
  16. Am also in the uk ..... Private road still has public access it's just not maintained by council I use a lot of the axis you have listed and that will not do the job you need. You are looking for a 10m distance .... You also need to take into account hight of camera. So you are looking for a camera of a target distance of 25 to 30m and with good night vision
  17. Hi. Going out into car space .. Road side ... Is public space Are you in the uk ? Look at it another way if you install a standard camera that can be seen they might walk past your car and not do any damage. Going covert and they might damage your car again Recorder is the way to go with camera

    installation advice plz

Tvi is best with a good coax going cat5 will also limit your distance and then again need to reduce to 720
  19. Hi. Why use pig tails Why not connect the power side of the siamese cable to the power box.
  20. Hi. You need PTZ cameras to be able to have control . You have fixed dome cameras
  21. tomcctv

    installation advice plz

Hi. 1.700ft for tvi ... At 1080 that is too far alter your cameras res to 720. You only need to do this on the cameras on long cable runs
  22. Hi. Why do you need a covert camera ?? What is it going to be used for Is it to monitor private or public space
  23. Hi. You will need to give a little more info What type of balun .... Can you post a pic How far are your cable runs Size of power supply used and how are you powering the cameras with it
  24. Hi. Who ever put in the last system can only be called a nut job and you are lucky it even worked. Take the pic with the single power out too 8pig tail ... Each cam say 0.5amp that's a total of 4amp from a single 1.5 output. Then there are no baluns that you need when using cat5. But the existing system is analog with dvr. To go POE you need to replace everything .... Dvr is replaced with a NVR with POE. A NVR can also be bought with out POE ...... But you are looking for plug and play so you need NVR with POE So look for NVR 4way Poe (4cam) or 8 Poe (8cam) or 16poe (16cam) Everything is the same as dvr as in control and use. But you will have to buy IP cameras with POE
  25. Hi. Wancam are cloud based so will not work with a ddns service Also having an old and new gives your problems as there cameras are not forward or backward compatable with viewing software (they need to be same cameras) You will need another 0041 to run 2 cameras. But I would not buy another .... I would get away from a China cloud service and as you have already bought 2 you have wasted money because of comparability problems Buy dahua or hikvision and be in control of the cameras YOU own
