I need help with a really weird DVR I have.
tomcctv replied to theunoticeable's topic in Digital Video Recorders
NO. Please tell us how firmware (which is software) turn a over 10 year old recorders hardware (components) into a modern D1 or above without better hardware Please let us know how. Why spend money or time on a proprietary recorder with CIF and no network And it's over 10 years old ...... It will have no support. -

Hi. Is it worth it ?? Look how old it is .... You will find its a CIF unit then you will need software to view. And if you are looking for apps ... Again it's too old They don't cost much now. -

Hi. That is the end that connects to the camera board. You need the BNC end .... Either pull that cable out of the wall ... And you might see the BNC ( normally 6 to 12in) away from the connector in your picture -
With your discription .... You could have a problem

EZVIZ C2C Camera from china.
tomcctv replied to lostwong's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. It cost you a few $. .... Put in the bin Fluorite private cloud agreement Is your camera protocol you can't change that. It's a China p2p camera .... You buy as a security camera but it does not bother anyone buying this cheap crap and allowing your network to be open to a China company ( government owned) -
EZVIZ C2C Camera from china.
tomcctv replied to lostwong's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Why would you want to buy a China cloud service camera ?? You will find its your firewall that is not allowing your camera to connect .... And it's doing its job as ezviz will put a big hole in your personal network. As far as English update ??? Do not think you have a hik cameras because it's not Buy something you can trust -
It makes sence. A licence is only for one machine ...... It stops people from loading it onto multiple machines or even reselling the software on the likes of eBay. You have used a clean windows ... Removing the security key Which is not a problem just contact bosh support give your last key and you get a new one But if you are not the original owner then again you need a licence. It is that simple .....

tomcctv replied to corvairbob65's topic in General Digital Discussion
Why is it wanscam never help there customers Cherry you have two IDs on the forum ... is it not better for wanscam to help ? Not by saying call customers service or buy a newer camera burg of which costs your customers more money Cherry ... you are wanscam .... this is a forum why can you not help ... why are you asking customers to call China..... the price of phone call is more than what the camera is worth. Instead of changing your ID again help the post Is there a solution yes or no -
Hi. Avtech is date dependant remove the drive from your recorder and you will not find the date required. Why can you not just burn it off now before it over writes. If your looking to recover data all ready gone ...... Then not with a budget unit like avtech

Hi . Good guys at eneo worked on projects with them in the past ...still got the bar bill to prove it They used a number of brands and if over 6 years old they used avermedia ..... Can you take a photo of your unit
-
Hi. Don't listen to people who only want to sell you there products Take a look at your link .... The camera does not match the recorder There is nothing wrong with going IP ... Infact your other post you had a quote for $1.200 for analog HD Going IP with POE NVR then it's just plug and play one cable from camera to dvr Don't waste money go IP you could install something like this over a weekend https://www.lorextechnology.com/hd-ip-security-camera-system/8-channel-hd-security-camera-system-with-ip-cameras/HDIP88DW-1-p

Thinking about not using Hikvision anymore, any recomendatio
tomcctv replied to cavcom's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi I think everyone is giving up on hikvision.... But since you have hiks already installed and you might have Tvi hiks then look at the new range from dahua ..... They now sell hybrid cameras .... Not. As in recorder ... But as in camera.... All cameras are analog or cvi or tvi. No need to buy a format type the camera detects the format of the recorder and as from next month all cameras will be all in one cvi Tvi analog and IP -
Hi. Clean windows ..... Did you have it installed on that PC before you cleaned your windows. If it has been on a PC before then you need a new licence It stops you loading onto other PCs

Need help to purchase a DVR (options listed)
tomcctv replied to Kanzler's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I wanted to reduce some work for you guys in order to get a faster answer, but you're right; I have no idea where to start. I'm looking for the best budget DVR with 16 channels. It should accept the old analog cameras but with an option to upgrade them for digital ones later on. Use: grocery store surveillance. Every suggestion is very welcome! You might be better looking at IP cameras and NVR .... With doing that you might be able to get away with 8 camera system as you can go with higher resolution
