Anyone hidden or camouflaged External IR's on a Building?
tomcctv replied to in-stall-er's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. Can't find my post from about 5 years ago ... And we still do the same thing now for customers. You need to find either a Dipping transfer company in your area . Dipping transfer you have all colour and design options. .... We had 40 PTZ done gold for a mall and we have had them done in carbon fibre for modern homes. It is cheap and quick Or look for a company that does car rapping and get them done white or silver. -
Tyco is far from going broke. Give your local Honeywell company a call

Qvis Apollos-HDLITE8 firmware
tomcctv replied to Cooldude16's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
Again there is no such thing as bringing it upto date that is not what firmware does You want face detection .... Not on the lite units I understand why qvis will not talk to you. I have the qvis firmware here for most of there DVRs and NVRs ... I can even give you a pass to qvis downloads but there is no new firmware for you Your dvr has software ..... If there was a problem then you would use the firmware to fix the problem with the software. You want to install firmware to add face detection ... First that was not a option on the lite DVRs so your unit can not do it. -

Hi I have no clue on what register you find in mum and pops stores Are you best telling us what register you have ? Does it have pole display or rs 232 or is it just a register without any goods storage or log
-
Hi. POS is not a problem what type of register do you have. Just having a camera looking at your till will not work unless you are watching all the time. If you can't watch then you have to watch the footage later and that will take hours away from your life. A hybrid unit is the easiest way for you to setup a log POS system Look at a dahua hybrid 8 way and have one of the cameras analog

Hi can you give amp size of power supply also what cable size is the 30m To test it is a power problem use a 30m extension lead and put power closer to camera

How to connect a wireless CCTV camera that's too far away
tomcctv replied to sirram's topic in General Digital Discussion
Wow was for not reading ..... And again maplins miss sell. Swann is a budget system but they do have a good manual ... It's like a book. But maplins sells graded products .... Swann sometimes sells them to maplins repacked in basic boxes and in some cases a basic setup guild. But like I said in my first post wireless systems can be limited to distance with the signal And to try and make it better you need to put the dvr the same height as your cameras upstairs in a central location if you can ..... Doing that will increase your wireless signal but then you have the problem of to far from your router ..... But you can sort that out by using eithernet over power plugs from PC world. You can also setup dvr viewing on your PC by just typing 192.168.0.4 into your browser There is not much else you can do with wireless systems You can use these to get network connection from your router to your dvr upstairs http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing-accessories/networking/powerline/tp-link-tl-pa4010kit-av600-powerline-adapter-twin-pack-10143560-pdt.html -

How to connect a wireless CCTV camera that's too far away
tomcctv replied to sirram's topic in General Digital Discussion
Wow ...... All recorders will show like that when connected to a network be it a NVR or dvr What I asked for you to do is show your Swann NVR camera page All IP cameras need a IP address either over the network or on NVR internal settings Also like I said with the app you have listed (which does analog and NVR) you should be able to pic up the cameras WIFI . DOES YOURS DO THAT .?? Your screen shot is only of your settings for dvr on local network GO TO THE IP CAMERA SETUP PAGE .... YOU MUST HAVE ONE FOR IP -
Hi. The main thing to remember having internet has nothing to do with your system besides giving you the option to view from any location and for your system to send you alerts. Both cvi and IP from lorex are dahua units Cvi has no delay but you have to run power as well as coax IP is your best option if you just want plug and play with POE. Lorex is a good option You can go to the dahua website and download software and have a play The only time your internet is used is when you remote into your system to view when away from your home

How to connect a wireless CCTV camera that's too far away
tomcctv replied to sirram's topic in General Digital Discussion
Like I said on my first post maplins miss sell. Any dvr or NVR will show network settings if connected to your network Do not get wireless mixed up with wifi If you say you have a NVR then post a screen shot of the NVR menu that shows your cameras that are connected now ? If you say your cameras are IP then do a wifi scan they will show up Smart view also allows you to connect direct to cameras without NVR. ...... Can you do that with your app
