Hikvision FIRMWARE TOOLS - change language, modify firmware
tomcctv replied to wzhick's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It means you have not got a genuine hikvision which is updatable multi. You have a China copy and even on eBay and other sites the cameras have a warning DO NOT UPDATE. -
Hi. First thing we need to do is bring you upto date. Forget using multiplexer the industry does not use them any more. It sounds like you are thinking about analog cameras again the industry is IP CVI or TVI
-
Hi Darrell. Yes you can connect swan alarm to qvis or any other with recorder with output switches on it and you will still have control of your alarm with the qvis app
-
Hi. Your swan unit is standard analog so you can not run TVI cameras. Your p400 is duel output tvi or standard analog your dome is tvi only so you will not get a image. On your p400 you are not seeing it's true image and they are very good cameras You will need to change your recorder .... Take a look at qvis Quattro. The Quattro will run your existing cameras and also tvi and IP

Concerned about theft of the camera itself
tomcctv replied to qwerty6000's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. I would mount your camera higher on a pole You have a PTZ so going a bit higher will be ok. Then you can also mount solar light to the pole helping your gate view at night. You can also put small spikes on the pole -
Hi. Lorex cvi is best out of your list If your budget it tight start with an 8 way with 4 cameras and add the rest when can Cvi is much better than AHD
-
Hi. Your car has a key to open it.... Your front door has a key to open Using port 80 is giving away your key to your network ... Not just your dvr but your PC. You never use 80 or 8000 Your new cameras and with info from supplier it sounds as if your new cameras are P2P and from China is bad. If you can't use new cameras with another port then send them back Cameras were cheap but now with lots of cheap P2P China cameras you are giving away your privacy

Dahua Mainstream and substream
tomcctv replied to GH75's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. I would use the PSS and not the smart pss PSS will give you the option to set stream for each camera. PSS is much better for a remote option .. And easier for doing backups from remote units -
Newbie Installer needs help
tomcctv replied to explurium's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi sounds like a regional problem is your dvr set for PAL OR NTSC -
Why ? So buy junk and expect a system ............ Did you see the good night time image on your eBay listing ??? If it is that good why not show. Night image outside ...... To show how good ..... Not in a living room As far as buying 1ip ...... That is the lowest you can get plus lens is crap ....... Same image as a cheap webcam I don't know why you are fixed on using your old PC ..... But it's going to cost to bring in up to something that can run 16 IP cameras Your looking for software ....... You did not read earlier post. Now you could be paying a licence fee ...... More than you paid for each camera So best just using the software that comes with that camera
-
If you go for IP camera system, you may check out POE and software fees for each camera. That's a new one POE fees. How much is that for each camera POE HAS NO FEE AT ALL TALKING CRAP AGAIN. AS FAR AS CAMERA COSTS Stay with brand name and same software and it's free

Hi. Total waste of money .... First they are CIF cards then you are going to have a lot more costs just to see they are junk Your old PC will not take all 4 cards Then you need a graphics card Then you will need standard hard drives and partition for each card then the cards are too old for remote viewing or any apps to work By the time you have spent money you would of saved by just buying a hybrid. Try one card first .... See if drivers work as that card has been on the forum years ago and driver was a main problem Well lucky my items are getting refund because the seller has advised me the hardware has a problem and has offerd me a refund! i have a PC with 4 Pci slots, i want to make it a DVR unit, where can can i buy a good quality DVR PCI cards from? has to have software where it can be accessable to iPhone/android using the Cloud app on mobile im also living in australia most prob will need to be posted to me! thanks Hi 4 slots .... What about graphics card Old PC with which Windows ? You are looking for a lot from cheap China rubbish with wanting cloud ios android apps and cloud Then do you understand hard drive partition ? Or ram You are going to waste your money with using old equipment and only going cif Cvi cameras are cheaper but you need a cvi dvr ....but it will be cheaper than the one you want to build

It seems not to be 16 Channels. It seems to support only 4 Channels. but x4. Is 16.

This is one of the best forums to do it in. I have some training videos on my website http://www.eagleviewsecurity.co.za But, trust me, go to youtube. Study networking, port forwarding, cabling, and look at the variety of functions cameras have (POE, WDR, HLC) and so on......It is a long road.....doing this 20 years and still learning.... Give it a rest ......... With spam you will not be hear long

CCTV Newbie looking for some advice
tomcctv replied to inamdb9's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. You have a budget of £250 you will loose that if you buy from the links posted. Do not take any notice of eBay crap .co .uk ...... Just because it ends in .co.uk does not mean it's a uk seller. The hikvision is a copy ..... And to prove that to you it says in the add DO NOT UPDATE. .... A TRUE HIK would not have that warning so you would be buying a unit that can't be updated..... And you will have no warranty or support. The same with the camera listed it's from hong kong... It will display Chinese We're are you based and I'll find hik or dahua closest to you -

tomcctv replied to dart73's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Thank you for that jeromephone. Like you as a long term member we like to help free and it's what keeps the forum a place for others to get free help. We don't need dishonest spammers at all ..... And this one has shown his bad side ...... But let's keep him on a little longer then others can see who he really is -
Clad you admit it ...... Shows you are a lier I have another 3 if you want me to post....... Will I get 3 more bananas So you lie on each of your other websites ...... And you want people to trust you with bank details and network details .... Wow you must be stupid
-
This has got to be funny.......... A recommendation to yourself of a web address owned by you ........ Go on smile . " title="Applause" />
-
No one has emailed you ....... Only 4 people have logged on since you joined ........ Just shows ... But keep posting because it's starting to show up on google Look at this nest post it has to make people smile
-
ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS LINE ..... SPAMMERS ARE NOT WELCOME and for someone to break every forum rule in every post .... And does not understand is not a person to send bank details or network details to One post would of been enough but to keep posting 25 of the same crap is a spammer
