tomcctv replied to takeemmac1211's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. eBay $39 is cheap ..... But put your cost of gas and time going back all the time and you will understand they are expensive crap. It is also good practice not to install repeaters at the maximum end of each run. Also you have not listed power ? Distance or camera type You might want to check this company out ... There prices are no where near $400 http://www.veracityglobal.com -
DVR rec?- need 24+ CH and simultaneous remote view for 3+

Hi. Xmeye is a budget app and in most cases the dvr will also run with dahua app and PSS But I would look at dahua hybrid to use. -
Looking for RS-232 console/keyboard protocol
tomcctv replied to cehmi's topic in General Digital Discussion
rs232 will not give you control access. Create a app ??? ..... Why go so complicated.... You need a image feed to your projector so why not just keep it simple and run rs485 That way you will have the same image as on dvr .... Using a app will not be the same and slow -

Hi. Your system will over write it's self .....there is no option to delete
-
Hi. If you have a $400 starting budget then I would buy standalone hybrid. cvi tvi IP hybrid ..... Will give you lots of options for adding and building your system Look at lorex dahua IC realtime

To Build or to Buy, That is the question? I think :)
tomcctv replied to brownstevend's topic in System Design
Hi . The system you have a link to is AHD which is not your best option . You can do better with the same budget but start to look at CVI they are in the same price range and you don't have to look at upgrading again at a later date Also your link is another China p2p system ...... Why people let China have control of there CCTV system I just don't understand . And it is starting to be a big security problem for people's own personal network. I would look at brand name equipment cvi tvi by dahua or tvi with hik Dahua is the best option with it now running cvi tvi IP 960 -
Hi. If it was me I would change to a better recorder . China p2p is junk and DIYers need to understand..... Why it is bad to use a China server. But looking at the app history they have had problems the past few weeks. And have gone back to a old version So remove all apps switch off your router and recorder then do a rest on recorder....... Switch everything back on then re register .... Use the QR code given from recorder. But look at the feed back of that app.

Hi. On a 290tvl over 15 years old I would consider upgrading you will only be wasting money also you will save on your power bills. Since you have cables in place then I would buy a cvi system ..... A dvr and 4 cameras to start and add the rest when budget allows A dvr will also still allow you to open gates and give you the audio If your happy with 290tvl then you will be very happy with 2mp cvi. How are you doing your recording at the moment ?
-
Hi. Why try and stream 4K ?? Use a less stream. Dahua 4K is h265 ...... Your PC will have compression problems rolling back to h264

Hikvision DS-7608HI-ST recording resolution?
tomcctv replied to jack in oz's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I would look at the new qvis or dahua hybrid range ... The hik you have listed is only analog and IP ... The new hybrids out now are cvi tvi AHD IP and analog Also hik software is a bit choppy -

#Assistance in setting up Swann DVR Remote Viewing/Router#
tomcctv replied to bn4's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. The settings given by AK need to be the ones you use. Also where it asks for password in the app it is not your router password. ..... It is admin (which you need to change later) Also your dvr port should not be 80 -
