Hi. A standalone NVR is your best option for two cameras. There is no point spending on a PC for your needs What is your budget -
Prewired Camera Wires . cat5e, rg6 with the 16 guage/2 wires
tomcctv replied to mbtran321's topic in System Design
Hi. I would use existing cables and just install IP system with Poe You will find it cheaper -
Hi. If not IP then your installer is looking at hik tvi. Tvi is a open platform and not hikvisions ....... Hikvision is behind the times now ........you can get hybrid cameras .......which output cvi tvi ADH and 960h and can also be used with most DVRs and NVRs.. Your installer knows nothing about IP cameras so that should show you he knows nothing of the industry and he should be told to not quote It does not matter which format you go with there is no delay. But don't have installed nothing which you can upgrade with in the future
-
It sounds that the installer might not be lying. It is him to save you in trouble, Not the guys promoting IP cameras, even for simple home applications. Betamax vcr and a few old cameras with multiplexer. That will save money sunnykim ?

getting ready to buy and had a software question
tomcctv replied to bill9000's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. Yes that unit will do all that you have listed Also you can set the pre and post recording. Another good and useful function it tag. This allows you to tick any part on the camera view and the NVR will show what happened in that space. I.e. Say your bin is in view ..... Tag it and press playback and it will show only who has been around the bin Or handy for dog fowlling...... Tag it and it shows the video and time. Also that unit is compatable with all dahua software -
Need to run an IP or coax camera over standard copper cable

Hi. What type of 16 gauge cable ? You need to post a picture. What distance are you going -
Hi. You need more info .....type of camera Also a snap shot of your screen showing the problem
-
Hi. Yes you have made a good choice.

2 to 3 SECONDS of video loss

Hi. For a 2 year old unit I still say black or green ........ 2 years ago purple was bad for DVRs ......good for NVRs The new purple has intel agent speed and that will be a problem from the start You took out a barracuda........ Like for like is green or black Green or black is £58 purple is £92
-
Not all DVRs can run purple WD black from PC world is your best option
-
Your system is 2 years old so purple is no good The safe way is black WD or green which are standard drives so no problems As far as firmware I would not do that
-
Hi. You are best buying the same it has already .... Wrong drive can give you same problems WD black or green will work.
-
Hi. You will need to post picture of your camera screen and give more info on products used and how you have connected them ......cable type cable length how powered
-
Yes 720 is fine ... But before you buy anything post what you find first and we will see if ok.
-
Hi. Once you start having HDrive problems then it's time to change it ....... You might find you will need some footage and it not be there. The problem with DVRs is they can't fix or report bad sectors on the drive
-
Hi. The only camera that will work is a standard D1 and any brand will do so long as it's PAL format. But you are going to find that buying the new multi format cameras are cheaper and gives you the option to use any recorder at a later stage. Multi camera is a camera that has 1080p CVI TVI AHD and 960 on one output.

Hi. 2 posts in 7 months is not enough. Your answer is on 3 threads up.

[Question] SwannDVR DDNS Not Registering on DVR
tomcctv replied to Euphorical's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. Why do you need Swann ddns when your ISP has given you a static IP ? -
Yes you are starting to understand ...... Also with using a NVR you will be using IP cameras ........... It is also a good way of connecting IP cameras to your network where you can't run network cable ....... Garage or garden shed Once you have used one you will be buying for your smart tv or anything else network

-
Hi. Yes they work very well plus can give your network extra protection
-
Hi. Bill yes it can be done .... But wireless is not that good you are best going Power line adapter https://netgear.com/home/products/networking/powerline/
