General advice regarding surveillance needed
tomcctv replied to asharon's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Doing the install yourself also gives you the knowledge to service and keep your system going. Being in the uk you do need at least 21 to 31 days storage so I would also start from there. The other benifit of installing yourself in the uk is you don't need to have a budget so you can go for better than 720p look at a mix of 3 - and 4mp How big is your warehouse and how many cameras are you looking at installing. -
Recommendations? Semi truck DVR system
tomcctv replied to Joeziah's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. Temperature is something that you can only try ...... But most cameras generate heat when in operation and if made from metal and small will hold that heat... That is why I recommended the golf ball size camera. Also the NVR is only a little bigger than your hand It does not make sence to start installing a network in a truck and using more inverters for power. Which is also another good reason to keep your install simple .... Save battery life when your vehicle is parked up. -
Recommendations? Semi truck DVR system
tomcctv replied to Joeziah's topic in General Digital Discussion
Sunnykim just because it's very very cheap does not mean it's good for the job. Is he going to get a better image with 2 or 3mp image ?? Sunnykim..... Are the cameras going to be over a network ?? NO SO WHY do you say it's going to be a problem ...... The delay is not even worth talking about.... A blink of an eye. -
Hi. Bad name and bad spec ....... It much easier to just cross it off your buying list. No name cheap units are never good followed by bad remote apps and also no support. Companies like dahua hik aver all stil make analog but all are now hybrid ..... And not far of the same price . But will allow you to expand later without having to replace your recorder again
-
Hi. In some cases you can recover .... But it sounds like you have gone to far with trying to fix yours. Firmware from the same manufacture is the update. But you have also tried the board makers software ..... What doing that may have done is wipe clean the NVR card so you don't have a NVR software in place to recover You will be best buying new they are cheap enough now buy a brand name were you are going to get support.

18cmp01-00 360vision dome outdoor camera ptz install help
tomcctv replied to t310483317's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Have you set up the address and rate on your dvr. Some domes will display the camera settings when you power down and back on again I know this dome as the vcl orbit. You have not supplied a pic of the tell entry board I need to see the settings -
Hi . Yes you will have to change your dvr. The qvis Quattro will give you 4 formats analog AHD tvi and IP
-
Hi. If storage is a problem I would go cvi. Hybrid. And go 32 way. But you can also replan your factory and see if going IP can keep your camera limit to 16. Going from D1 to MP can help to reduce the amount of cameras you need.

Cloud Storage recommendations-specific companies please
tomcctv replied to Diamond Dog's topic in System Design
Hi. It's call remote view when going back to your dvr. Off site cloud is something recorder manufactures add as a service . Your supplier has only changed the name on your dvr. They don't make it or give you the cloud service. You could always build your own local cloud ..... Units with 4tb are cheap enough now . I am specifically looking for a company that provides cctv DVR uploading cloud service to backup my DVR HDD on a live continual basis. Do you know of one ? There are lots out there ..... But all have high costs and no guarantee of having footage when you need it .... But think about 3rd party cloud ...... Giving your network to a company you don't know. Having monthly costs . And not so long ago ..... I'll try and find the thread .... A cloud company posted all its customers links on a webpage for anyone in the world to watch .....3rd party cloud is no good and a waste of money . Do your own cloud storage and keep it local . -
Looking for standalone direct to tv PTZ camera with Controlr
tomcctv replied to cwyatt89's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. Yes most are made in China .... But the one listed is a US seller so returns are cheaper for you ...... Not many people get there money back from China. There is no point going HDMI with a analog PTZ is just expense you don't need. AV 3 on your tv will be enough. But yes you need a controller .... The same seller has them for $60 If you do want HDMI then your best option is a cheap dvr with HDMI out .... The benifit with this is you don't need a controller as the PTZ will then be controlled by a mouse. And it might not be a benifit to you but with a dvr it is recording at the same time ........just in case your farther catches somerhing exciting -
Hi. I think you are right as in power at night. Tour + IR + zoom is when the PTZ is drawing it's max power. And with your PTZ being at its home position is also a sign of loss of power or lack of it. But if you look back on your footage most PTZ when they go into home mode also display the PTZ settings on the screen. For a quick test to see if power ..... Do a temp setting and have the PTZ stay in one location and also not allow it to zoom and then see if you have the same problem next morning. Also for future ref home setting is built in to the PTZ and on most units you can change the home setting ...... I would change it to looking at your car or front door which is better than at the ground

Please help - ports keep closing when power goes out SOLVED
tomcctv replied to Diamond Dog's topic in Computers/Networking
Don't worry if you can't find UI or menu that some people could. Some menu/configuration settings could only be accessed by someone with over 30 years of experience in the field. We don't have those kind of years behind us and these special configuration menus tends to hid themselves from us. Just do a search on past replies, you'll see that other like you had been told about interface or setting that they couldn't find despite spending countless hours on it. " title="Applause" /> Btw, you don't have to listen to me. I've been told by experienced person with over 30 years of experience that I dished out bad advice even though his advice doesn't work. I have no idea what you are talking about Don't worry he is just the forum China spam King -

Looking for standalone direct to tv PTZ camera with Controlr
tomcctv replied to cwyatt89's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. With a low budget you are looking at no name brand. But I would say with your budget buy from your country don't buy from China direct.. ( it will cost you a fortune to send back ) if any problems. But here is a quick look on eBay which is in your budget ..... You will also need to see if they have a controller as well. I would connect to a AV port on your tv http://www.ebay.com/itm/1200TVL-HD-SONY-CMOS-30x-Zoom-PTZ-IR-Dome-Home-CCTV-Security-Camera-Video-IR-Cut-/351595056572?hash=item51dcb2cdbc:g:PrAAAOSwo6lWLZMJ -

tomcctv replied to andrecctv's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. That explains the flir mod number ..... Old units no longer sold . No it's not a pigtail unit ..... But you have compression BNC fittings and I can see at least one is not fitted right . Having video bleed is most of the time bad BNC or a bad power supply. The outer core of the rg59 needs a good negative if it's not it will be using power supply negative and it's bleeding from the power supply and not the dvr. What type of power supply are you using. -

tomcctv replied to andrecctv's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Are your cameras connected to dvr via pig tails? Also none of the mod numbers or board markings relate to flir. Can you post pictures of dvr back and front also screen menu
