Hi. It is hit and miss with that type of mic so do an easy test with mic only Disconnect it from dvr and either plug it in to monitor or rca on your tv and see if you get sound. You have not said also how you have audio out to monitor from dvr Also on all dahua you have mic control on top left of each image on the monitor .... Have you switched enable sound

Hi interesting video.it looks similar to weld test and metal thickness X-ray that we did for ships. Are you also collecting data on a PC ? As it looks like you are using text as a reference code. Check your pm and see if this will give you more than just text. There software is open so I would also take a look at that and see if can be adapted to do your text but also other data you are collecting on the same screen in multi colours

Hi. You are at max limit for your cable which will give you drop out. And Poe might also be at its limit I would move your cameras if you can to around 85 Or drop the Poe at the nvr end and install a Poe switch around 60 70m

Hi Scott yes its almost standard on most systems now and some are now self setup ... I would stay away from cloud storage

Universal corner mount for commercial buildings?
tomcctv replied to Javik's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
You don't get IR on fisheye GV or on CNB But your looking at fisheye 360 .. You don't mount 360 by a wall it will make the 360 pointless and a waste of a camera Is this just a one camera install ? Or to work with other cameras. Also look at fixed 360 PTZ camera .... Not fisheye -
Security Camera system with DVR

Hi. How many cameras are you looking at installing and your budget and location. Qvis dahua and hikvision are good brands to look at. -
Hi. I know your budget is 300 but if you can go a little higher this is better than the q-see. Even tho they are both made by the same company the lorex has better software. Both are available in Canada http://www.costco.ca/Lorex-4-channel-DVR-Surveillance-System-with-1-TB-HDD-and-4-HD-1080p-Cameras.product.100240328.html

Need advice on a new system. Our current method won't work..
tomcctv replied to dmills913's topic in System Design
It's the IP used within the app that makes it local (LAN) You are using external IP (WAN) on your app and gv box because your using roku server. Roku IP will not work on any other app. My help is not vague to you it's just I also have to argue with someone else on how to do it. On first page of the 5 page post I said I have done it with your cameras ... I have also said I have your cameras on hik dahua and avermedia. Now it's not that I don't want to help it's just after a 5 page post of someone else who has told you he has NEVER seen or used the y-cam. Like I said a few pages back ... Time and effort is given free on the forum but there is also a point where it's time to leave a post alone .. It's on 5 pages and you have got no we're with your problem I'll keep reading the posts here because it's going to be interesting -
Hikvision IP Cam Software upgrade.

Hi. I would contact Videoteknika uk branch and ask them. Using firmware that you don't know we're from is not a good option. -
Universal corner mount for commercial buildings?
tomcctv replied to Javik's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. There are a few corner mounts and most suppliers will have a few types ... Even I PTZ corner plate will do with a universal dome bracket But using a fisheye corner mounted is going to give you problems unless your looking at also extending the arm out from the wall. I know the geovision can't cope at night .... A good percentage of the image at night is a dark wall and hard to set to a descent light. -

tomcctv replied to dmills913's topic in System Design
You can listen to the guy who is forcing you to spend more money onto of what you have already spent The problem is he likes to take over posts BUT IF you want to use the cameras and use them the way you wanted in your first post it would off all Been done by now But since the topic has moved to you looking at dahua .... The setting are the same Forget about ISP going out of the country and back that has nothing to do with what you want Cameras and TVs are local ... So local network ... Only your teachers away from systems network needs external And using dahua you can now connect direct to TVs from your network -
Could the BNC connectors in my cctv system be the issue?
tomcctv replied to mikey2j's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
They are both not for CCTV ..... There from China and used in kits just to get them working Most people that have been on with same problem as you have changed the cable to either coax or cat5 and also seen a improvement in picture quality. If you don't want to change the cables then try and put another power supply closer to your cameras that are the furthest away. But you will have better benifit if you use the right cables for the job -
Could the BNC connectors in my cctv system be the issue?
tomcctv replied to mikey2j's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. No it's not a coincidence. The problem is with the lead kits .... First they are not for CCTV and the power conductors are two small to take the power o your camera that are at long distance. It only occurs at night because your camera needs more power to operate the IR. But at the end of the day the leads you have are not 75ohm They are not long lasting. And if you search the forum you will see that they don't work -
Hi. You will need to pic a camera with audio if you want to have sound. The site you link to starts to get a bit expensive for only two cameras Do you need audio on both cameras ?

Could the BNC connectors in my cctv system be the issue?
tomcctv replied to mikey2j's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. The lead kits are not the best of things to start with. Even for short runs they don't last . For yout long runs I would swap out for either RG59 with power or cat5 with baluns -

Are you using coax or lead kits that come with the kit. It also sounds as if you are on 12v What amp is your power supply and your cameras -

Hi. It is always best to run a full cable without joins. But I think your problem is power related with you saying when IR comes on. How are you running the power and what size power supply -
Cloud Backup for a NVR Beginner
tomcctv replied to weebs's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Referring to the offsite storage. Anyway, I don't have that many year of experiences and I might be wrong. Perhapes there's way to do offsite storage without sufficient bandwidth that I've yet to know about. Is sending data to offsite NVR .... Not called offsite storage Or is it not the same as what cloud does. I don't understand why you are trying to make things personal I was only replying to a post with a good work around that is done with 1000s of systems around the world .... Is it not one of the benifits of IP cameras ? Instead of doing personal making the post personal ... Explain why it can't be done.
