Hi. First that NVR is 4 years out of date ........ And it will not run all your cameras at full res Then you have the problem of it NOT being a POE unit. So you need a good POE switch

About time the HDD kicks the bucket. Depending on the NVR model, the HDD inside is most likely an off the shelf consumer grade HDD that've withstood 3.5 years of 100% 24/7 write which is FAR more than any desktop application. When you replace the HDD, be sure to use HDDs meant for surveillance such as WD Purple, Seagate Surveilance etc. Hi if your dvr is 3 years old I would buy the same hard drive as already in. Not all standalone will run purple or so called surveillance drives.

WHY Would a IP camera fitted to outside of your home give an entry point to your network ??? IP TO NVR is the same as ANALOG TO DVR THE security problem is how you connect to your system to the network P2P is a bad thing and the worst is hikvision ...... All the self detect systems will have a problem and using that method over rides your security of your network ..... Creating your own network and your own port forwarding is the best way.

Hi your pictures show your dvr is not on line. Tick DHCP Enable ... Then switch dvr off then on again and see if IP and subnet sets its self primary Dns needs to be your router secondary DNS needs to be 8.8.8.8

Hi. No that is not the case. The camera does not go to sleep or switch off. MD is a function to send command at that time but camera is always on. Also MD from the camera is not going to work. You will end up switching MD off with 100s of bad alarms. Hi. The splitter idea is no good for you. If your going cat5 you will need baluns .... And if your going to re cable then run cat5 to each camera this will allow you to upgrade later

Hi. You might not have a problem ....... You might have two channels switched off for viewing To test this do an easy test. Remove camera that you know is working on your dvr and move the BNC to one of the ports you have tried the new camer on and see if it displays or not

Hi. You do have control.. Option is use p2p or set up manual which is more secure. P2p was just a budget system get remote view setup with out knowing simple network and it's always been a problem since avtech brought it out 6 years ago

Hi. The dahua unit as from 3 months ago are all h264 and h265. Going h265 with 4K or with dahua new 12mp PTZ is the way to go ... Less storage and large files made quicker. There are a few system manufactures going h265. But a problem has already started to show. Like in the past h264 has had differance...... The real licences h264 or copy of h264. And it has always been noticed in the industry ... Take manufactures price ..... Avigilon geo aver apco Panasonic Samsung all pay for the real h264 Others went for unlicensed which is also on no name and low budget systems H265 now has a problem with comparability with the unlicensed H264-plus. Which is hikvision. H264-plus and h265 will not exchange with each other. But h264 and h265 do convert with each other ..... So dahua units have both so as you can still use existing cameras like axis h264 and there new h265

Hi. It's hikvision that has the security concerns ... And now also comparability problems. Costco don't sell the newest dahua ... So I would look for a dahua distributor to get there latest products. We're are you located .. See if one is close to you.

Hi. With your budget this would be a good buy for you. It is a 16 way so it also gives you the option to add more cameras in the future. This unit is also POE so that also saves money as you don't need the cost of power supply .... It's plug and play from camera to recorder.
