Looking To Catch Vandalising Neighbours
tomcctv replied to hd_goofnut's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. That is a stupid price for NVR and 1 camera £360 about $700. What area of uk are you. -
CVI and TVI should not be used in new installs. They are transitional technologies. The 328f limit of Ethernet is easily overcome by strategic placement of switches and in limited cases using extenders. Why would cvi or tvi not be used for a new install ?

HELP Which DVR + (multiple diff.) WiFi Cams? (Help a Noob!)
tomcctv replied to CBY's topic in General Digital Discussion
Can I ask why recommend a tribrid when op does not have any cameras ...... Seems pointless unless he wants 3 different formats may as well save money and go direct to IP -
i'll try it, my router is new, i didnt understood all you asked: "We're are you located and how old is your router and make" change done, as i said before, i dont have any feedback if NO-IP connect well. email test still failed. (i guess it is configured ok in the picture attached) tomorrow morning i will restart the DVR, and check again. thank you so much for everything. Why are you testing email from your PC ?? Why are you not doing it from It's much better if you do everything at your dvr . Location means we're in the world are you. And who your ISP is
-
Think your confusing everything? Your bringing in your remote viewing into your no email test .... These are two different things .... You have already said that all works
-
Hi. Set your primary to your routers IP the same as the gateway and enter 8.8.8.8 as your secondary ddns. We're are you located and how old is your router and make.
-
Where do I say it's a must. . EMAIL TEST FAIL is your post . We have to work out how you view local and over the net ... Because your dvr says not connected. What is your routers IP address .... And do you have more than 1 router
-
So you have more than one router ??? You need to stop reading Google to find your problem It's simple you need your dvr onto a network gmail will not work as it is .... Your dvr needs a way out to send. You are best telling us how your network is set up

Help with software or cleaning cctv footage
tomcctv replied to Tertullian's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. Northern Ireland or UK ...... The police and courts would call your footage unfit for use. If you have a bad image that's all you have. Did your shop system not catch anything before they found it. Might have something of use on there. Also in most cases look at a few days of footage as sometimes they will come and check your store out first .... Try and spot your cameras or recorder -
Hi. The picture of your network is that how it is now ? Subnet ....... It needs it if connected to a router ..... 255.255.255.0
-
here, i attached 2 photos, do i missed something? by the away, 1. PPPoE is not confirured now, it with "0", not "1". (the DVR is connected to a router) 2. my dynamic "ddns" is NOIP.ME, its not on the list of the settings, so maybe that the reason i cant set it working well in the DVR. but still i dont thinks it suppose to have an influence on the EMAIL. thanks for all the help. YES it has a big influence on email ..... ESPECIALLY When your not even connected to any network looking at your pictures. That is the reason it's not working ..... Even if you did a firmware you would still be in the same situation. You need to first get your dvr onto your network And your gmail port is also wrong ....

DVR Setting up email report motion failing
tomcctv replied to mitch04's topic in General Digital Discussion
I think you are going to make a mistake doing upgrade none brand name But with you only talking LAN and you don't have your primary ddns set to your router. Then it's a network problem . Do you have remote access with external IP away from your system ? -
DVR Setting up email report motion failing
tomcctv replied to mitch04's topic in General Digital Discussion
Why do you have primary ddns set at google it should be your router IP ..... Your second ddns should be either 8.8.8.8 if that does not work then try 8.8.4.4 -
Hi CVI is your best way to go much better than AHD

Yet another noob with questions (but I've done my homework)
tomcctv replied to sixsevenco's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. No it's not a hikvision. Yes you can configure that system to view cameras from NVR or cameras on your network and still control from the one app ... It also has 99 users with camera configuration and multi log in passwords But that unit is about to be updated. -

Hi . On your PC it will be Your local IP followed by 37777 -
He said he'd like to keep it under $1500 and we'd probably need 8 cameras. That's why I had the idea of using the SD card cameras because cabling the building up with brick and 5 stories plus a basement would probably be $1500 or more for the cabling alone. SD card cameras are not the problem .... But to not know if they are recording or have been removed .... Is also a waste of $1.500. You need hard wired cameras or POE
