I think you are going to make a mistake doing upgrade none brand name But with you only talking LAN and you don't have your primary ddns set to your router. Then it's a network problem . Do you have remote access with external IP away from your system ?

Why do you have primary ddns set at google it should be your router IP ..... Your second ddns should be either 8.8.8.8 if that does not work then try 8.8.4.4

Hi. I think you will find its the NVR .... Does yours have POE ports. If you are using software on your PC to view your unit then that might be set to a less res stream. Like I said you might be better keeping your existing 4 cameras and going for an 8 way NVR and adding the other 4 cameras as you go. What does your footage look like once burnt off from NVR ?
