HD-TVI DVRs and HDMI Output Overscan Issues
tomcctv replied to CorvairShaggy's topic in Digital Video Recorders
If the op has used multiple TVs with same result ....... Then uses a brand name and does not have the problem on his tv rules out its a tv problem. Hikvision TVI does not give this problem. Licences sellers of tvi don't have the problem ..... Cheap open source does ..... They make cheap to sell cheap and cheap graphics is the problem -
HD-TVI DVRs and HDMI Output Overscan Issues
tomcctv replied to CorvairShaggy's topic in Digital Video Recorders
A few years ago open source did help new formats and improve systems. But only if other big names wanted to add and develope This has not happened with tvi ..... No it's not getting better it's starting to get none comparable with each other .... Use hikvision from start to end of install and all will be ok .... Mix tvi with cheap China tvi and you will have problems. -

Remote over local network is reliable. And all 6 villas can view - payback at any time ..... There are no cables to run if you setup a wireless network
-
Hi. Why do you need all villas to record. Keep it simple with 1 NVR for recording and all villas have remote view.

Cat5e baluns, 4 camera, horizontal lines
tomcctv replied to jimmyNJ's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. The problem is your baluns ....... The type with rj45 connection defeats the object of using baluns as 1 too many connections and 2 they only use 1 pair for power which is not enough for 100ft. Change to single balun and use more pairs for power.... Save you a lot of time and money changing to rg59 -

I am in Texas Central Time Zone. If I order the new camera then will have to splice new ends so it will connect to the wall wires? Which camera would you get that would match similar to this one? Hi no you don't need to splice anything ...... If the end is not the same for power that comes with your new camera .... It is just a matter of changing the end ..... Power connector comes with camera Check your pm box .... I have left a link for a replacement camera which is local to you
-
Hi. You have a standard 720 TVL camera ....... Your connector is standard for Europe ..... But does not matter as your new camera will come with power connector. If your in the UK you should be paying around £45 for a replacement
-
Hi. There is none ..... You need to set you camera for Pelco D and 2400
-
what IP camera would you recommend for external use? Hi. You have some very good bosh cameras and expensive .... So I would use them as they are for internal or external (with housing) they have very good night view I would go for a hybrid so as you can use your bosh or attach to an IP converter.

security camera disclosure notifacation question
tomcctv replied to mikeloew1's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. Yes you will have to tell your renters and let them deside if they want to rent or not. Holiday rental or hotel suite. Your renting a private space ..... Don't think you would rent a hotel suite if had covert camera ? Even family with children .... Covert recording might give you problems you don't want. If it is your boat you are protecting then fit a tracking system ... For around $60 -

What will happen if the camera gets higher voltage?
tomcctv replied to dnfakrnl's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. Your cheapest way is 24v to camera and then drop it to 12v But for a gas station .... I don't think you are going to get much life out of that PTZ ..... 12v and it has IR it moves it also has wiper blade that is a lot of work for 12v How many of those PTZ cameras are you fitting ? -
Hi. You need to give a lot more info than that . Make and model of your system ... How old it is
