  1. Tribrid units are a waste of time and pointless When most people upgrade its from analog or they want to use existing cameras and add IP .... Which is hybrid Tribrid ... The cvi tvi side mean also having to add them cameras .... Why when can add IP
  2. Hi is that a down light in your soffit ? If so you are best removing it and place your camera there as the light will not be good for your camera You could also use the power cable of the light to help you feed your cat5 Attach two lengths of string to your down light power cable ..... Go into your loft and pull the power cable till you have both stings from outdoors. Cut one string off the power cable and attach your cat5 .. Then go back outside and pull both strings back out of your soffit..... That is your best way without removing your soffit board
  3. Hi. BBMW. I have systems over 10 years old still going strong ..... A little unit service once a year ... All dust out and every two years replace Hdrive. It's like anything ... Can last 1 year or years. If your looking for something to last look for a hybrid unit .... That way in years to come you can add IP cameras and also mix and match what you have now
  4. They are not CCTV cables ..... The power lead is too small they useless You still have not said what size power supply you are using.... With you saying IR come on then I would say it's a amp problem with your cables being to small
  5. Hi. First problem is your cable kits you have listed ....... They never work and are not 75ohm and the other problem with them is the power cable is too small . Can you also list the power supply you are using ?

    Thinking my mom got swindeled.

That way is going to cost your mom more money ....... Let's say the labour is 1.500 and NVR and cameras are another 1.500 ... Your moms 3k You try and find a good system for less than 1.500. Then time to re install ..... Then can you give your mom the warranty and service call the installer would of added .... Think your idea will cost your mom more What will be the reason you give to the installer to remove the cameras .......you found cheaper on eBay Your own admission you say you know nothing about CCTV . Or types of cameras fitted 3k is not a lot for your mom to have paid. You have not even said how large your moms home is But it sounds like your mom has had a system installed by a pro ... And also giving here service and backup with being fitted by a pro

Hi. I think most people know about NTSC and PAL my question was WHY has sunnykim brought it into the ops post .... It's a problem that no one is even talking about He is also wrong about 960h being dvr end ...... It is Infact camera and dvr ....... 960h camera 960h compatible dvr

    Help with 960H record mode

The same reason you are replying to posts. You are respected with more than 6000 posts. But not respected if you do not respect others. To your question, "What has pal or NTSC got to do with 960h ?" ... Not easy to explain to you, a CCTV specialist. Nobody, even Sony, produces sensors fit for true 960H. And it will not. And you can see the cameras selling as "960H", whether you buy or not. No reason to argue with. Better reason with a wolf. Read your own post again. What has NTSC or PAL have to do with 960h res ? I hope you understand there are 960h cameras to go with 960h recorders ....... Yes you can run D1 and it will be D1 with only using standard cameras But even in your mixed up post you make confusing reading

Help Me Design A System Under $1200k

Here is an email I got from tech support yesterday. Maybe this will help you decide. "You can get a new HD-SDI system (8ch Magic Lite or MAG-Series is $399.95), with a 3 year warranty, and it’s made in Korea. Here are some HD-SDI packages. I would recommend these: http://edigitaldeals.net/8-channel-hd-sdi-standalone-dvr-system-2tb-choice-of-6-1080p-hd-cameras-cable-power-2yr.html http://edigitaldeals.net/8-channel-hd-sdi-standalone-dvr-system-2tb-choice-of-8-1080p-hd-cameras-cable-power-2yr.html HD-TVI is less expensive because it’s analog and not digital, and it will work on your existing RG59 or RG6 pre-made Siamese cables. This one has the same software as the DVR you just purchased. (EA-Series) http://edigitaldeals.net/8-channel-h-264-standalone-hd-tvi-dvr-1080p-vga-hdmi-1x-audio-2yr.html This one is newer, has better software & warranty, and can accommodate 2 IP channels for a total of 10 channels. (LTS Platinum; not LTS Platinum-X) http://edigitaldeals.net/lts-platinum-8-channel-tribrid-dvr-hd-tvi-analog-960h-30fps-720p-15fps-1080p-2ch-ip-vga-hdmi-1x-audio-1x-sata-3yr.html And here are some 8 channel HD-TVI packages: http://edigitaldeals.net/video-security-systems/hd-tvi-dvr-systems.html" Support is excellent. Hi. One of ops complaints is getting hold of customer service Doing website checks are so simple and an save you time and save you wasting money. But those sites are well over priced for no name .... Plus no company details on the site . But I can say they are not in the USA

    Help with 960H record mode

There should be No 960H cameras. All analog cameras ouput NTSC or PAL signal. The 960H is the format (size) at DVR, not camera side, when the TV signals are digitized in D1 size or 960H size at the receiving end, DVR. If your DVR do not understand 960H format, you may set it to D1 format for all cameras. Why do you reply to posts ...... What has pal or NTSC got to do with 960h ? Yes there is 960h cameras and yes you need a 960h dvr to display them at 19:9 format. ........................ It sounds like you have a cheap China unit with having a built in monitor ..... Your cameras should still show at D1 and 960 .... But it sounds like your system can't cope with 960 as it locks out All you can do is run at D1
  17. Yes video in on your AVE ...... Video out Then goes to dvr Cash registers (pos) ... If you have two then you have an AVE for each register and 1 camera for each
  18. Since one of the camera is already activated with the text inserter I'm assuming it's connected properly. I can't seem to find the cables though. I don't even think the camera is connected to video input of text inserter but it's somehow working. I wanted to know if there was some other way it's done. Such as, having a hub in the middle that is connected with text inserter's video input and output and camera in out also connected to it, then the hub goes to the DVR? I am really new to CCTV world so please don't yell at me =[ Hi. It sounds like you have two AVE UNITS with your customer having said both used to work You say you needed to change the cable for the cameras work ...... And you went direct from camera to dvr and not to the AVE unit This tells me that the AVE unit has lost power and that will also switch camera image off. How many pos systems are at the store ?
  19. Hi. Your budget is low your not going to get a hikvision with audio for $100.
  20. Hi. Camera needs to go to CAM IN on your AVI unit or it can't send its display CAM OUT goes to dvr
  21. Hi. When you installed the new cable did you go from camera to the pos unit or direct to recorder . That unit will not take two cameras only one but with two till data feeds
