  1. Hi. You have made your own post a bit confusing You give all details about the camera and cable type and length And then say no audio at camera ? Do you have a mic (audio) or does your monitor just pick up sound ... While it is connected to your splitter
  2. I don't mean hybrid, all TVI units are back compatible with analog video. Any HDTVI unit will also take old analog cameras, and I am quite sure it is the same with AHD (I have never used AHD). Even hikvision calls it hybrid or tribride. You still have to set each camera channel either TVI or analog

WiFi PTZ Camera 12V over solar energy

Is that budget with or without camera ?.. You said 24/7 . What about night ? You need to also budget for backup power as in batteries Then you want to run a PTZ and then the wifi . The link you posted is a toy no good for your needs Your $300 budget will be used up just in the battery alone

WiFi PTZ Camera 12V over solar energy

Hi. What sort of budget do you have
  6. Not really. TVI and AHD are back compatible with analog cameras (PAL/NTSC). All TVI/AHD DVRs can support both TVI/AHD and PAL/NTSC cameras at the same time, so there is no need to replace all the cameras. Some CVI DVRs can support both CVI and PAL/NTSC cameras, bot not all of them. How is TVI back compatible ? do you mean hybrid The op does not have TVI CVI or AHD cameras so none will work for him
  7. Please allow me to explain. The HD-CVI decoder (RX) chip is owned and manufactured by Dahua. The chip may not be able to handle the conventional NTSC/PAL signal, which is output of analog cameras. (That I am not 100% sure of.) So the DVR have to add the NTSC/PAL decoder chip, meaning cost up, or simply not to support the coneventional analog cameras. That's why. You may have to find another DVR model or go for HD-AHD, or HD-TVI. Why has pal / NTSC been brought into this ..... Both CVI AND TVI are a digital output and has no reginal coding Even going AHD OR TVI DVR the op would still have to change his cameras

Expert help with new DVR system

Hi. There are no good $50 DVRS. What would the differance be lets take the cheap China units 1. No support 2. No updates 3. Very bad if any ... Smart apps 4. No safety certificate for your country .. So never been tested and fire risk. Buying a brand name 1. Full support 2. Full updates 3. Good apps that work and get updated 4. Safety certificate that is real and not just a photo copy But if you wanted to buy something new and you already have 16 cameras then hybrid is your best option . It gives you a system that will last and mix old with new cameras
  9. Without reading how you got to the point of not using an IP camera, my answer is: use an IP camera with PoE. But that's just my opinion. IP cameras are so much more versatile. Budget -- not wanting to use a PC --- option to watch on tv So 2mp tvi is the best option ... Camera and recorder in budget and also cheaper to expand
  10. Hi . It can't be made much easier .... Like I said in another post ... Give them the cable length you need and it turns into plug and play
  11. Hi you need CVI cameras to work with a CVI dvr. ... Standard cameras will not work unless it's a hibrid
  12. Hi shotgun cable .... Has video and power together or use cat5
  13. Hi have you set the address on the dvr for a second ptz ?
  14. Hi. That is known as a 100ohm system so no coax involved If you can't run new cables then your other option is to add baluns to existing cables and that gives you the option to go 960h analog or tvt .
  15. Hi. Yes both those items are good All you need extra is a power supply and cable If you call them and give camera distance they will supply the cable
  16. Don't understand why you want to avoid the link Hikvision system in your budget ??? I don't think you will get much more help if your going to buy none branded over hikvision systems

    new installation

Hi. You will need to give more information like Internal or external .... Type of lens ..... With or without NVR
  18. Great! Thank you Tom. Edit: I just checked your link and most of those are out of my price range. I did find this NVR too (I'd need a purple WD hard drive) but I'm not sure it will work with Hikvision cameras. http://www.amazon.com/Amcrest-NV1104-1080p-Network-Recorder/dp/B00X4UDCYE/ref=sr_1_27?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1448921912&sr=1-27&keywords=nvr Can I ask how is my link out of your budget ? Your link also needs a hard drive making it cost more ...... You then need a switch for your cameras then as you seen in link HD-TVI start from $42 But your link for the NVR ....... Some points for you to check ..... Click on suppliers name google it ........ Now look for address on there website ........ There is none .... That's your first alarm bell ..... Am not in US .. But also on there site it gives a UK number ..... I can tell you now that number does not exist ...... Company records also shows it is not based un the USA as they claim its from China Also read the spec on Amazon ..... LIMITED 3rd party cameras which is not good . If you have a limited budget then don't waste $79 on that rubbish
  19. Hi. If you want something simple but good I would go for a HD-TVI system Good picture quality recorded to a hard drive recorder which you just plug into your tv via HDMI I will pm you a link with good prices

    Home installation

Hi. Your easy way is with power line plugs .... It is technically a wired solution without pulling cables The netgear along with others can also be access points Take a look at the netgear plug and play http://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/powerline/PLP1200.aspx
