No I can see you can't ....... Where did I type network why have you brought that up We are talking about compression of video and audio Again there are poor h264 formats used by budget systems Then there are LICENCED formats .... You are a were that H264 is a company ? ..... And used under licence by big well known companies H264/avc ... Protected by licence up till 2027 Why do you think there are quality differences why do you think some makes cost more than others

Hi Ken ...... Looks like a dirty lens . Also why it has happend so quick is because your camera is next to your water outlet ........ Hot water from sink or bath /shower will be steam passing infront of camera making lens wet and dust to hold

Are these camera and nvr compatible?
tomcctv replied to fy6900's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hope every post is not going to be hijacked. Memebers post has gone off track -
Does it not ...... Apart from bad cable .... Think you will find it does .... Let's take stutter .... What is the first thing you do .... Lower the settings .... Why ... Less data to compress But if you think there is only 1 H264 out there There is bad and there is good

GoHDD PoE Camera's all going offline - random
tomcctv replied to scrollz's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. Remove one of your hard drives for a few day and see how it goes (take it out) -
YES .....you don't need the internet you only need Internet to view your cameras away from the network
-
Sorry to say that I can not agree to your opinion quoted above. Most parts are totally unfounded. You are teaching that to run the business is simply bashing old technology, and praising the new technology. Where did I bash old technology ??. .... You should of understood it as there are many forms of H264 some are good soon are bad Bad being what you have on budget recorders or cheap IPcameras
-
Hi. And welcome to the forum .... You can install any type of system ...... Your ISP or Internet has nothing at all to do with it ..... You don't even need Internet (only for remote viewing ) you have a lot more options if you go IP
-
Hi. I don't know where you get all the above from ....... All just sounds like badly installed systems Cheap cable .. Cheap switch .... And even installers adding to a existing network If IP is installed from new and deadicater network then you will not have any of above the key is own network which if you think about it .... It's the same as a coax system Compression Take H264 ...... There are many formats out there ...... Let's call these cheap ....... Slow on convert ....giving high stutter or mist frame .... Ghosting and artefacts which you will find in many complaints in posts about ......mostly found on budget systems or no name Or H265 genuine ... Which are 4 formats ...... And are LICENCED out to the likes of avermedia geovision avigilon and other big names ..... Yes there cameras cost a little more but with good cable good network good power and you are not going to beat that system
-
Why. Read the web page ...... Testing is done by a cat for $ Dogs love it ??? Looks like the dog is about to eat it......... Set it all up before you go out ....... You come back and find your dog has took it to play with ..... It's junk

HOW MANY SERVERS ARE YOU USING -
Pro Surveillance System (PSS) Dahua Software Alternative ?
tomcctv replied to samfingcul's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Sounds more like your monitoring setup How are you using the PSS If your monitoring operators are viewing 4 cameras at a time ...... That's a cycle of 125 DVRs ..... Say 5 mins on each screen ..... That's hours before you get back to first lot Have you thought about having DVRs send data to monitoring -
Recomend PTZ Camera that will detect face and zoom in.

The guy in the video has no clue at all....... If that's the best he can do at 17t with analog and 5mp he needs to stop buying crap -
Yes using the NVS0404HDC-A which will convert 4 cameras at a time Quick maths 500 div 4 = 125 125 x €270 is over 33k Then you have avigilon licence x 125 units
-
€33.760 not counting licence is your starting point So on your first post ...... It's more cost effective to change all to avigilon cameras As you have seed SDI IS on its way out fast and you have seen SDI cameras can be had for €17 ($25)
-
That works out at only €34 ($51) a camera not counting licence
-
YOU have 500 cameras you want to feed to avigilon
-
That did not help ......what is your budget ?
-
So your looking at placing your dvr output . ...... First no control . Going to be afraid to ask this but what is your budget for your 500 cameras ....... You are also going to need a licence for each camera

It OBVIOUSLY IS spam you posted a number of posts in first 10 mins of joining forum both the same ADVERT. THAT IS SPAM YOU did the same on Thursday .... Same postings under another name ... There were remover ....why because it's spam Now let's explain something so as it's understood better and may be you can handle being a new member better and help or recommend ..........CCTV forum has sponsores ( that's people that pay to advertise) which keeps the forum free to join It's not a free outlet for you to advertise your company multiple times You would of done better getting involved with the forum ......post footage of AHD WHICH by the way is not new both Dahua and hikvision have added it to there full range of DVRS as standard .......plus no point selling DVR IF YOU DONT HAVE AHD CAMERAS
-
You are the 3rd person in two days to post from Eastern CCTV .... It's clear this is spam And it MAY BE LICENCED OUT TO A KOREAN COMPANY. But the fact is your based in newyork I picked up on you saying ONLY MANUFACTURER ..... OR ARE YOU IMPORTER You posted twice today someone else filled forum yesterday full of spam and got deleted

CCTV Cameras and Avigilon
tomcctv replied to phmax123's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Your just using the wrong encoder Your talking about 500 cameras ...... That's a lot of money to add encoders too. It's cheaper to swap out for avigilon cameras than change to encoders. -
Before you do it's always best to be honest and truthful Your company IS NOT THE ONLY COMPANY AT ALL WHOS TECH IS IT its Dahua If you can't be truthful from the start why or how do you expect customers to trust you SPAM IS BAD

Designing a new system. Going all IP.
tomcctv replied to azjeep's topic in General Digital Discussion
Thanks for your kind explanation. But what I pointed out was that both playback and spot monitoring needs to decompress the encoded bit stream. 16 Ch X 1080P X 30FPS could be tough to handle for both softwares and hardwares-stand alone NVR. Thanks again On IP compression is done at the camera end unlike analog -
Designing a new system. Going all IP.
tomcctv replied to azjeep's topic in General Digital Discussion
You are best not getting confused ..... Your mixing up meanings CIF RECORDINGS ...... I thing you mean viewing stream ..... Don't add the recording (FOOTAGE) this is a separate thing ...... What ever resolution the IP is set for that is your recording. WD1 is not DVD quality it is far from it that's been a sales pitch as soon as D1 budget recorders came out. OPs post is to help design a new system and no one is giving good advice if saying go back 15 years in technology Post is main car park ..... Analog is not going to do that for him
