In what circumstances is it favourable to have a USB camera over say an IP camera. No it’s not odd ELP want access to every pc you plug there devices into which is a stupid thing to do and the url has a lot more warnings than two infact it’s blocked on most isp …. Not just your uk link (which it’s not) but even there main url is blocked so there is another warning as you have already seen yet your ignoring it even your camera link is junk as it’s for a black and white camera only ( monochrome)

did you notice the url website warning with the camera website …. Even my isp blocked your link….. iP track shows domain uk but infact from China and is classed as data theft site but again you have come onto a cctv forum that can help you yet you don’t want to learn the basics usb cameras are just the same as webcams or pc mouse or keyboards and external hard drives…….. they plug into usb hub local to pc thinking you can run cctv cameras over say a distance of 5 meter and above your going to loose the 5volt power that is max on usb

Hi you mention DVR or is it a nvr iP cameras to save hard drive space the best place to start is looking at needing 4K in every location ….. you could set some of your cameras to 4 or 5mp also motion record only and setting the sensitivity down and also look at your pre and post recording time what system are you using ….. cloud recording you are best setting up your own instead of paying someone else as it’s very expensive

Usb cameras are usually webcams or cheap China smart cams that only need 5volt with is max for usb best not getting them confused with iP cameras cctv

The key is to stay away from smart cameras that relies on internet connection to work there are also other devices that can alert you when someone enters your room that use gsm so again does not need the students network what is your budget

Ok first try this … your unit is showing to have iP of 192.168.1.8 this might not be right for your local network on the same page as your IP address there is a tick button marked DHCP When you have it ticked press ok then turn your recorder off ….. count to 10 and switch back on … leave to boot up again …… now see if the IP address has changed also are you using android? As apple have removed that app ….. what country are you in

Yes I also told you in 4th post the firmware you needed (the same) but I have also told you that you can also do it by memory pen ….. you said tried that but on the software there are 3 options …. One of which will put back your h265 but that is all it won’t let you use 3mp as your unit does not have the hardware this is the file you need for h265 you can find it once you have downloaded the firmware onto pen and use drop down box to load it it’s called V211109V211

listen this is 3 seperate units you have posted if your saying this link is your system then it’s not a rn and should not of loaded that firmware on it ….. it states clear in the advert it’s a sl 4680 and that uses a completely different software what does it say on the plate on bottom of your unit also last 6 numbers of serial number

Now you have linked both yours and friend’s products…… I also know Hassan who you bought off first what you have to understand is you have purchased … returned/ refurbished or end of line stock you talk about 2k and 4K output …. You need to forget about this as neither of your links supported that but what has always been the same is you both only have a 2mp system and nothing can change that they will not run 3mp at all so we’re has the dvr 4680 RN come from since that is not one of your links what is stamped on the bottom of each recorder

Swann should also of told you that you also can download the files you need … and not do a full software again ahd and tvi ……. Then take your new 3mp cameras to your friends dvr plug it in and select tvi then go into ptz control and click menu … this will pull up the cameras own menu …. You use the up and down ptz control to move down the menu options …… resolution change this from 3mp to 2mp then click save then reinstall onto your system if your dvr has heat … what settings are there for the thermal settings? we’re did you buy your system from ?

Your right it’s not the same ….. it’s more like going to buy a new car and coming back with a motorbike your mates 4680 is also ONLY 2mp but as said in earlier post you need to look at camera format ….. your ahd …. His tvi ….. tvi can and does downgrade cameras for a recorder there is only one other option you have and that’s installing software again but ONLY via usb drive (which is recommended by Swann to do) if you need it I’ll post it
