Hi you problem is your budget £200 ($360) Is not going to get all that you want Dahua 4 cameras DVR 960h is going to be your limit That has alarms .... Needs external sensors and also push
-
Did you ever find any information on this DVR? I have the same one (or think I do - it has a CD-R drive on the front left, and an interface that looks like it is out of 1991) and am also looking for info on it, in the hope of upgrading it. Hi. Sounds old You will not find an upgrade ......... You can't turn old into new .... It takes more than just firmware

lots of Dahau questions
tomcctv replied to cypher007's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. I would just return it Main problem first is power supply burnt out soon as used system eBay rubbish First over priced .... The cameras are £15 each in the UK Was system sent .... To be used on UK power ? You buy security for your house ..... But take away the safety of your house with melting power units Send it all back and buy from a UK based company Also eBay is over priced for CCTV -

Mystery DVR card. Found driver (I think) but not software.
tomcctv replied to Furious.George's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi i don't understand that part ..... Card you have listed is only 16 CIF. That link is also wrong for the card they have listed .......no way on earth can the spec they have listed for that card do what they claim. It depends on how much work you want to put into the card you have ....... Are you going to use it ? It is old ..... And I would also guess footage will be with dedicated software -
Hi. Yes that can be done easy. Which type of system you deside analog or IP depends on your budget.

tomcctv replied to Numb-nuts's topic in Security Cameras
Love it when IDIOTS make pointless videos Another stupid salesman The clue is one camera is vandal and was is not .... Only had to read camera box on each ...... Feel like sending the guy an email .... What did you expect hit a none vandal dome with a hammer " title="Applause" /> Yes it's going to break Sales guy knows nothing Looked on his site WHY SELL 960h kits with only a D1 recorder -
Hi. Even your sister would have to be licences Pub /bar is classed as public space ..... The law was relaxed for private installs I.e homes It sounds like cost is the problem and it does not need to be if system is built up over time First install 16 way NVR and 4 cameras ......that will be the main cost taken care of ..........then add cameras say 4 at a time each month ......... This also helps with camera placement as once 4 or 8 have been installed you will start to notice blind spots or bad spots were you can install the next 4 camera. CCTV in a bar or pub is a valuable tool ...... Helps protect the owners licence and also money loss ...... So don't buy cheap
-
Hi. A pub / bar in California is classed as public space so a licence is needed. I would personally go IP it has much better fur future protection Yes there are other systems available but have no fall back HD need a HD recorder ..... Recorder down whole system is down IP use NVR dedicated or PC .... PC or NVR down .... Just redirect camera feed ........ Also have second backup Also IP has future software ...... Your not just stuck with what VMS you use
-
Hi no there is nothing you can change in the unit You are best buying a hybrid and not a TVT And also take into account .... You are wasting money going from D1 to 960h ..... Move to hybrid IP or start new all IP
-
Sorry but your calculations are wrong ........ Your using the lorex unit and that is 12v 5amp Are you using the POE from the unit ? Why are you bothered about power ???? Do you have a reason to get it low for 4 cameras
-
Look at it this way ...... TVT Make a DVR 960h but sell as a D1 recorder what would be the point Yes they have firmware but that alone is not going to turn your D1 into a 960 Board needs component changes also graphics .... HDMI output TVT can be had for $60 ......... You can't make it better

I NEED THE PINOUT CONFIG FOR 2 OLD PTZ CAMERAS
tomcctv replied to AndyBoy's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. It depends if your using all your work as learning . I do understand what your trying to do but at each stage you will have problems Seeing your images ...... Yes you can take control of motors ....... Your next step would be to get the Data protocol stored on to your board Other problem looking at your boards ....... Your only moving low voltage motors ...... By the time you put everything together ...... Power will be your next problem ...... PTZ camera will always try and keep focus then zoom pan tilt ....... You need to take into account its full working power once camera is up and away from local power ........ Camera says 24v in spec -

Hi . You do need to rest your router and again the IP address you are using is blocked so forget that as well You have also port forwarded your router ........ Bad thing to do I would start with a clean setting ....... And don't post your IP on open forum Find your external IP here http://whatismyipaddress.com PM it to me and I will check the ports for you
-
Hi. The DDNS IP you have listed belongs to Comcast and all ports are locked down I would start by doing a full reset on your router. Then I would start by using your external IP first before connecting to any DDNS service
-
Many have read your post ...... But to answer your questions right would mean typing for hours page after page glossary.php
-
Well good look ...... Just seen your other post $20 camera is not worth the extra money on switches Math just does not add up ...... Buying cheap then spending more to get it to work
