Canon plans to purchase Axis
tomcctv replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
its not a different approach...... its a secure approach. which years ago all manufacturers did. take last month here on the forum ,,,,, someone posted a full months worth or dvr / NVR engineers codes for a full 30 days. so using hikvision in high commercial installs cant be sold as a security system .... its not secure. some installers will only install by what system they know or by price. but you still see cheap china units in commercial or high risk areas. the industry years ago was lead by insurance companies .... as in this system or that system could only be used if the owner wanted insurance. $500 system with passwords all over google is not the system to protect a bank or jewellers store. -
Hi which DM do you have

Canon plans to purchase Axis
tomcctv replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It's not just about support . You only have to look back over 2 months on this forum .... It's not doing hikvision much good 80% of problems are support ...... Can't connect ...... Wrong region ........ No support . Hikvisions new none or don't buy from list for this month has two companies from this site added to it Wrightwood is alway talked on here about suppliers. It's not. We are seeing more and more. Installers of hikvision not going back to there customers ...... Because either they did it cheap from China or replacment camera would be there cost because they bought cheap and can't return. ...... It's not worth saving $20 a camera. Is it cost ........ Every other post is hikvision (yes they are good cameras) but only if bought from the right place. Then you have the likes of axis ..avigilon... Avermedia....CNB ..... When was the last post of one having problems. Thewireguy is right ........ There are going to be some big changes ...not only with axis but blue iris is also going with big face lift. Avigilon will have the biggest say within two years when it's a commercial grade being sold by other companies -
Your best option is to buy a PTZ keyboard can pick up for £50 off ebay. No point you buying manchester box fo your dvr ...... As you won't have mobile or smart viewing so you may as well just use a controller.
-
Hi. It's going to cost you more .... Why have you gone backwards by 10 years. If your in the UK I would look at getting a qvis dvr. Did your DM come with a cd drive ??

There is 11 apps for dahua .... If you used the basic then your not going to see that dahua apps will do more.. But which ever way you go ..... Never pic your system on how good the remote viewing is. Buy system on quality of nvr and cameras ... At the end of the day your buying a security system not a phone app

Hi. Sounds like you have not set a port for your dvr. You will see over LAN Your dvr even without port But using WAN ( your static IP ) you need to add port number. It's a bit like making a phone call and asking to talk to John Phone number 02345-6789 then ask for John ..... Connection. Static IP 240.54.78.xxx then port 8080 ........ Connection. So the local IP you use while at house to connect to dvr .eg 192.168.0.x ........ You need to give that a port number on your router

tomcctv replied to The_Darkness's topic in Computers/Networking
Hi. Your looking at a DVR Which is 7 years old You will need to load webviewer onto your pc Your unit has no smart or mobile software -
YOU ASKED OP TO GIVE YOU MORE DETAILS I WILL SEND THE OP HIS CODE ............IT WILL SAVE HIM $19 So don't you bother yourself

Yes plus. Police or courts will not risk having there computer systems put at risk from virus passing . Police will look at a bad crime from pen and will run through virus detection first . But there not going to take the time or the money (time costs) for someone who has stole jar of peanut butter
-
If cost goes in the equation, I would rather supply a free email/download link. If cost is not in the equation, I would rather supply a USB drive. Would the USB go to police and court service ??? Even dvr with no dvr drive the idea is to convert to dvr before it goes to police or court. Here in UK police will not look at USB .

SW that can differentiate between insects/birds and people
tomcctv replied to Raikkok's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Differentiate between a person from a bug, i thought blueiris could do that Why have you edited your post ........ Your post was face recognising software. Why don't you start again SAY WHAT YOUR PROBLEM IS. BUT AGAIN ....... Your camera has built in IR it will attract spiders and bugs ......... And yes if night can and will make your footage useless and will give bad alarms. Does not matter if a bug or spider ora person covering your lens ...... You are not going to find software to remove what is in your camera view. But as you have stated FACE Detection is of no help to you -

tomcctv replied to Raikkok's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. That software is no good for you and will not work A camera with IR will alway attract bugs €50 on a camera and adding a few €100 to try and sort out your problem makes no sence You will need to switch IR off on camera and use a separate IR -
Hi. How did you check HDrive ?? Your unit is 4 years old

Or stores .gas stations or anywere where the owner does not use a pc ....... Much better from dvr.

Hi. Your research has let you down ....... First £29. ($50) should of given you the clue ..... Also did you read description ??? The manufacturer is no longer providing the software CD rom now, so this package does NOT include a CD Rom hard copy. Please click here download the software CD e-copy. Also door control is regulated in the UK and you would not find a company to fit that Your buying for a company ..... Why buy cheap in hong kong
