Access control for automatic sliding doors
tomcctv replied to EricTrueView's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Hi. To make your job easier ...... Like ssnappier says forget mag locks otherwise you are looking at two controls to figure out ..... Existing door control and new mag control. Also with the many types of card locks on the market .... Cut down the work and talk to the hotels room door lock company and see if they do external lock. Also with it being a major hotel then I would say you need to involve fire alarm company ( doors must unlock on fire alarm) -
PC Base NVR PC For 74 2MP Cameras - Need Advice
tomcctv replied to larrymilla's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi. From what I read ....... Your install is a supermarket . So motion in that application will be classed constant record ( at least in open hours) so you need to calculate as no motion. As far as switch ...... You have one area 24 cameras on one switch ..........that is a lot of cameras to go down if that switch has a problem. -

Hikvision camera recording when movement out of frame
tomcctv replied to alexf40's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. You will need to take into account pre and post recordings. It works well when recording I.e 5 seconds before and 5 seconds after event will also be added to recording. Sounds like you are only using snap shot So you will need to set pre alarm to 0. (Factory set to 5) -

I do wish you would put that stuff out of your head. Your system is not on the net. But if it was your system logs IP addresses I would turn the sunsheld around on your camera And also give your recorder time to finish the file before you view And see how that goes for a few days -

Then it was not being erased......... You need your footage to be filed by your dvr Swann puts footage into files of 20 mins long. Each file then is given time date If you view footage before that footage is filed it will not be filed. Plus some swann and avtech when you go into footage the dvr will stop recording. Ok your cameras are outside ...... Are they anywere near you hvac outlet or any other outlet with heat ? -

Like I said before it will be much better if you leave your Neighbours out of trying to solve your problem. You have been asked some basic questions but not answered any. It's your system Is your camera near anything outdoors Are you going stright to your dvr and viewing your footage as soon as you have a problem. -
That's an old ISP not heard in a long time XLN (budget business broadband). Check your dvr IP with the one you have directed to on router Also subnet

tomcctv replied to Loria's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. Without seeing pictures or footage it's hard to tell. But it's best to leave anything to do with your neighbours out off what might be happening with your system.. Some budget systems like swann avtech cnm. Have a store then save footage I know the old swann and also the avtech record in blocks 20 or 30 minutes. So it has to record for that length of time and then it time stamps. And stores Now if your watching your dvr seeing an incident and going to your dvr and rewind to watch before it has saved then it's lost. Give your dvr time to log and save ..... Leave for an hour before you go view footage. Lasers. ....... If it's happening you can do some easy tests First lasers are not invisible light you should see a red or green dot on your camera lens from outside just looking up at it. Second . You can buy smoke in a can ( spray can ) at night walk around your home at night spray smoke in camera area and again you will see laser light (as a beam of red or green light) But again put neighbours with laser out for a minute and look at what else can be giving you the same effect. Hoax systems ...... Cloths dryers .... Gas heating systems can also make you think your cameras are being blinded by light. And this happends at night or early dark mornings ( like times you say having problems) Have a look at your camera placement see if close to any heat outlet. -
