Swann DVR System differences from model to model
tomcctv replied to johnsloan's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
Sorry that is not the case at all 4680 does not have heat detection and only 2mp someone is confused…. The pro 3mpmsd is a heat detection 3mp camera and will ONLY work 4780 DVRs and above 4K ……. Please read posts slow ….. I said will not take OR RUN 4K run being the dvr output which is what you mentioned in your first post. There are two types of 4K but what you find in cheap cctv units is rendered 4K (1080p stretched) not a true 4K software the 4680 and the 4680rn have different softwares as there not the same unit ……. Which is what I said in first post about formats ….. cameras are not compatible I come across this all the time with domestic Swann systems …. So many makes rebadged and compatible being the main problem with the cameras you have purchased 3mp heat detection there is no software that can change your DVRs hardware ….. your hardware is 2mp standard with nothing in your dvr for heat Swann is a diy kit …. Made easy for the diyer to install ……. Which is a bit of a useless comment from Swann as most systems diy or pro are installed the same you also need to remember the 4680 range has been out 5 years so not exactly new move from Swann on your next upgrade and you will see a big difference -
Ultech NVR Firmware
tomcctv replied to flipper20's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. The k8204 is only 720p unit so can’t be upgraded to 3mp how many extra are you adding as it’s only a 4 way system this is the problem with wireless systems …. Short life span ….proprietary software ….. proprietary cameras -
This is not always the case …. Software will not upgrade your system infact it can damage the unit if software is not the right one for that model

Swann DVR System differences from model to model
tomcctv replied to johnsloan's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
Hi I got a reply for you from Swann the dvr-4680 -46804or 46808 will not take or do 4K it’s is only 2mp ahd system and is also not produced anymore as you can see from last update November 2021 you need 5 series for 4K we’re are you based ? -
Hi are you talking about the spot monitor output ? you only need to move which image you want too the bnc ch1

Hi which wire code have you used T568B should be on both ends
-
Hi could be a faulty or incorrect wired Ethernet cable but before you look at that … on both of your recorders remove the network cable from router …. In recorder settings on both go to network and tick the box that says DHCP …..then at router switch it off …. Reconnect both recorders and switch router back on … give it a few minutes and then try your connections …. You should see under network on both recorders a new IP address has been assigned to each recorder … it’s that iP you now need to use to connect. …. You can also untick DHCP as well try this first

Swann DVR System differences from model to model
tomcctv replied to johnsloan's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
Hi unfortunately holding Swann accountable is going to be difficult swann don’t make CCTV but they do licence there brand name for others to use hikvision xmeye seeyou Qmeye you also have different video formats TVI CVI AHD some do all some only use one format there apps are also poor compared to what is available now swann will ask were your firmware came from and use that to get away from any responsibility you might be better just swapping out the recorder for something better and support -
Were my IP Cameras Hacked?
tomcctv replied to bobthebob's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi … even Poe has nothing to do with the internet…… Power Over Ethernet is just a way of getting power to something with Ethernet connection also internet and network are different local network = iP camera setup does not need 3rd party to work …. Can be setup anywhere and it works internet cameras= need the internet to work via a 3 party server without internet useless…. Can’t store footage for a long time unless paying silly money to store on someone else’s server the only time a iP system uses the internet and this also applies to standard coax analog is when you want to view it remotely via a app -
Were my IP Cameras Hacked?
tomcctv replied to bobthebob's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi this is not the case infact it would do nothing to iP cameras this is the problem with security cameras …. These days there are two types … and diyers get it so wrong there are cctv cameras -analog / HD analog/ and IP these are true cctv with no 3rd party involvement at all then there are the cheap smart cameras …. And should never get mixed up with cctv smart cameras need registration to a server for them to work and some also need a monthly fee for cloud storage and also a fee to collect footage …… lots of money to buy smart cameras and run yet no control over the equipment you have paid for CCTV … or IP system like the quote at top of this post iP systems don’t have any connection to network away from your home ….. you can set a system up in the middle of nowhere with no internet of phone or wireless and they work smart cameras like your reolink need to run on a China server ….. infact 2020 reolink we’re caught storing data from smart cameras ….. and also your original problem audio is also stored by 3rd party -

Missing woman Kirsten Brueggeman last seen on CCTV “glitch” — is this time jump normal?
tomcctv replied to SkepticTank's topic in Security Cameras
Hi …. This is very normal with cctv. infact it helps the police ….. it would of also shown someone else or a car in that area if a person or car went past what your looking at in the video is motion detection with pre and post operating…… it saves on disk space and also only records the motion detection area the original footage will also have a signature/ watermark embedded into the video which will tell the police the video settings at the time with onboard clock ….. all systems have it my concern about the video is ……. Cctv is a information collector…. It’s puts together a story from main camera to others around the area even if a mile away but no one has talked about the car that disappeared……. It activates the motion detection 2.30 am as it leaves ….. can see the car top left (break lights) so more video is needed before 2am to see when that car entered that area (could of been sitting there for a while) but what is needed now is video from area of the car …. At that time of night not many cars on the road so should not of been that difficult with a start time line of 2.30 am but unfortunately police don’t investigate to where it’s takes there man power up I don’t know when this was but important cctv will now be lost from other systems also I was involved in a drive by shooting 2years ago when we was asked to download video of we’re they abandoned the car …. Did not show much …. Just them looking for a quiet place to leave the car …. Except some more information on cctv showed one of them was on a mobile phone at the time …… it was 3.10am not many called are being made at that time so cell tower information at that time revealed on 7 people were on cell at that time …… there were caught because of there cell number -

Hi the menu looks like xmeye range try these 3 codes ….. switch unit off for 20 mins first……… reason being they lockup after 3rd code attempt so if you have tried codes before the 20 mins switch off resets the unit these codes end at midnight tonight 737840 795520 374560 -

New Guy, refurbish Samsung Techwin SPD-3750
tomcctv replied to germolsystem's topic in Introductions
Hi. It is not a simple as you think infact it’s pointless… you would be better off selling your working ptzs and putting the money towards new iP ptz which is a cheaper option anyway reasons why analog ptz go into startup mode on first power….. head spins for pan and tilt central point then zoom (focus check) this is all done on heads management then allows ptz to operate …. Changing camera head from analog to iP you will loose the zoom central point as the ptz head management can’t read data … analog is done by sensors next problem power difference…. Samsung is 24v so you will need to go Poe on camera head and another supply for old ptz control ….. and this gives you another problem analog ptz controller will not control zoom on iP camera so a analog ptz controller needs to be used to pan and tilt and a network controller or nvr for zoom control … this also gives you the other problem …. You can’t have control at all if using a app for nvr to control ptz as far as replacement domes for camera to fit you will see 10 years ago in forum search it is not that easy and expensive…. We used to make them years ago -
How Was My Non WiFi IP System Hacked?
tomcctv replied to AnnkeDave72's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. There is always a reason why I ask a lot of questions…. Put them all together and get to the problem. I’ll explain why you think your system has been hacked now knowing your hard drive history without your system not on any network a hacker will first change your password and lock you out cctv that 98% of all hacks in your case it’s not a hack it’s using a secondhand hard drive that is already infected with a malware or spyware that it has been infected with on what ever else it was used in I trying to think of a simple way of putting it look at is this way your hard drive has Alzheimer's its confused also known as corrupt hard drive. bad sectors slowing speed the good new is malware or spyware on your hard drive will not get onto your nvr it only writes to a hard drive there is no storage on your nvr to be infected its always been said always use a brand new hard drive straight out of the packet and into nvr …. Then the nvr will automatically format the drive for it use on that nvr so don’t waste money on a new nvr just buy a new hard drive -
How Was My Non WiFi IP System Hacked?
tomcctv replied to AnnkeDave72's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi your easiest solution is to swap out your nvr …there a cheap solution as far as car on one screen and not the other depends on how live view is configured on your unit …. Some new so called 4K systems like yours needs to be processed (4Kviewing)this also uses hard drive do you know what hard drive you have fitted to your unit -
How Was My Non WiFi IP System Hacked?
tomcctv replied to AnnkeDave72's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Yes it was your question….. secret Wi-Fi chip is your second question the answer to your problem is the same above faulty hard drive and it is common you can also go into your router and look at inbound traffic …. Or contact your service provider for information on inbound constant freezing play back = this can be something as simple as wrong hard drive fittedWriting speed wrong ——————————————- video playback 6 secondsslower than HDD time marker and on and on = sign of bad sectors on your hard drive sectors not in order to read so takes longer because of faulty sectors —————————————- these are your questions in your first post which points to bad hard drive ……. Your system even has a operation log ….which will show everything -
How Was My Non WiFi IP System Hacked?
tomcctv replied to AnnkeDave72's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi without your system being on internet it won’t of been hacked. your symptoms are also the same as a faulty hard drive…… in your case a lot of bad sectors….. this would be my first thing to sort out replace hard drive and also check time and date is constant -
Sorry but they don’t ….. uk government or Australia don’t use hik or dahua either https://www.reuters.com/technology/us-plans-impose-sanctions-chinas-hikvision-ft-2022-05-04/ your thread was for best 4K ….. good luck on a full 4K from both hik and dahua as both nvrs come with restrictions and limits you have done homework on finding the cheapest systems instead of reliable ones with good apps and software yet not come back on your findings for a TVT nvr …. Well below your budget and one of the best systems out at the moment
