License Plate Camera VS Regular IP MP
tomcctv replied to mattaggie's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I don't understand why you say the cameras can't pic up red or blue plates..... Day time should not be a problem and at night both red and blue would show black under IR. Yes geo does pic up red blue black yellow so does aver .. Avigilon ..PIP. The problem is using standard IP as a Anpr camera it will get plates but only as a capture. Only with a good enviroment -
They say by end of March .. Available in US first
-
Another problem is distance Over coax max 150 it does 1080 after that and over cat it's down to 720p Sales pitch is easy upgrade for coax but it is also a camera resolution fall back something your not going to get with IP If something is good for a company then they keep hold of it .... For some reason dahua have already sold off a licence

License Plate Camera VS Regular IP MP
tomcctv replied to mattaggie's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Yes lots with geo LPR Yes you image is good but it's controlled I.e cul de sac Show a moving image something 20 mph in dark the hik can't do that. On its own run it through a GV LPR box it might. But since ops question was something better than just catch image of plate and he is already using the platform (geovision) and its for a parking lot. Then geo. Can do a lot for him Log plates ... Create data base of car owners ..... And with licence from DMV log owners of cars ....... Check if plate should be on car -
License Plate Camera VS Regular IP MP
tomcctv replied to mattaggie's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You must of been looking at the wrong geovision One thing geo does and does well is LPR AND IS ALSO 1 of 4 companies which can be licensed to use national vehicle data bases. ------------------------- You have an existing geovision system I would look at installing LPR software onto it. This has a lot of good features -

How many baluns are on your cable ? You can use other type of balun the one you have listed are not the best. And that type is not good if you update your PTZ at a later date -

Existig CCTV Setup lost image
tomcctv replied to jonny392's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Have you pressed this button about 10x ?? But yes better power supply would help. If you still have control over your PTZ data then it is your video link that has the problem Check baluns at each end Another is do a camera reset by hitting 11 on number keys and then reset on screen menu -
Hi. For such a high class area why do you not want to record. Soon as something happends you will wish you had. But if you don't wish to record then you have to keep in mind that someone in the office is going to have to keep watching monitor or tablet. This might be a better idea for you

NO NO NO Don't take your camera apart Don is right need a model number or picture first of camera

Interference on DVR's output on TV
tomcctv replied to Tibbu's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
Hi. Can you post a picture Have you got the right region for your country -
Miguel The project scope specifies Analog system, budget and prices are mandatory, we are competing against many companies so the best and affordable solution is the key, Yes think your right Can get some $10 cameras off ebay that should get you price down for install ........ But dought its fit for the job. It's a public place so even if mall owners are stating what they need at end of day they know nothing. Should be seeing what local police expect from the system and local authorities. Many install companies get job designs and quote requests in on there desk. And most of time next to a desk is a waste paper bin. Like I said in first post ...... Educate your customer this is a large mall it needs better than cheap analog cameras. http://www.news24.com/Tags/Topics/kenya_mall_attack http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2014/12/31/nsw-man-charged-after-mall-attack Cctv is a collection of events of anything that happends. Even down to protecting public from pick pockets and system has to be fit for that Again it's educate ........ask your customer what he expects from the system
-
Hi if your ruling out IP only because of the 400m distance then your not the guy to design the system. If your designing a large mall with budget system prices then your not designing the right system for the environment. First you need to educate your customer. System fit for purpose is needed in mall public space. Cameras good for recognition Storage what is length of time needed to store VMS. What is your customer expecting from the system. Avigilon for this type of install large malls airports dock areas it ticks the box for them all

Noise only when more than one camera is connected
tomcctv replied to generatorlabs's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I can understand why a DIYer would think that. can have 10 or 12 even 13v at camera but it still needs amps ........you can under amp a camera you cant over amp it and if you look at ops power spec 1.2amp each. at power supply ....... sorry but op is not going to get 1.2 amp at end of 300ft and adding anti hum on cat6 with baluns ........... that has to be a joke ???? it must be. generatorlabs. it is best buying good quality baluns lots on ebay stating are baluns but are not also cat6 is always best away from other power cables ..... never run across other cables. 0.275ma is low for a camera with ir can you list spec of cameras -
Noise only when more than one camera is connected
tomcctv replied to generatorlabs's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. You will need to list your power supply spec Also camera spec also type of balun Amps is going to be your problem over nearly 100m -
Hi. With a small run of 50ft you should not have a problem.
-
Hi. Have you bought the system ??? First the cable kits you get with box kits are not worth using from the start I would use cat5 with baluns Other is the cheap power supply
