    HD-SDI Camera Install Problem

Tom, The home owner doesn't want to trench for obvious reasons. At that distance, it will be a pretty penny. I'd like to come up with a solution which uses the existing CAT5e lines. Do you believe the IP Camera would be a better route? The Baluns we used on the HD-SDI are these: http://muxlab.com/product?product=hd-sdi-balun&pid=876 According to the info I got, they should work with HD-SDI over CAT5e. Is this bad info? Thanks! Hi. IP and HD-SDI both have the same cable length limitations With the distance you need you would need to re boost the signal halfway down cable run .... So would still have to dig. But if you can't dig then a standard cctv camera at gate would have no problem connected to the existing cat 5 and then convert the signal at dvr end to HD SDI

    HD-SDI Camera Install Problem

Hi. HD-SDI WITH CAT5 and baluns ..??? And boosters would also be needed for that distance There are converters to go cat5 but they need power and that would also need a trench to gate. If the gate camera is the only cable route problem then use your cat5 to run and power a standard analog camera and convert to HD-SDI at dvr
  3. Lots of employment types ..... Police officer .. Office worker .. Construction ... Armed forces and a. CRIMINAL. each one is to work for a living most are honest except the criminal. It's a trade to them They will alway be a criminal if a good living can be made from it
  4. How can it be hijacked. First read my first post .... I said I was not pulling it apart . But all I did BECAUSE WE HAVE HAD THEM is they do not test IP THEY DO NOT TEST ANALOG which in your EDITED POST REMOVED YOUR DISCRIPTION but again second post in I SAID it's not to start a fight I was pointing out a fact But since you edited your post after getting a reply I take it you looked again at manual and found my reply to your posted description was right or you would not of removed it Let's see what reply you give it was a reply to a standard post Nothing nasty in it AS YOUR MAKING OUT. Camera only work in Black and White

Hi. Could be a few things First camera position. Is it in a good light area Bad negative on power (getting from bnc) Also try as a test shine flashlight into camera see if goes colour Also can you give camera details. You might have duel voltage and with connecting power wrong you may have damaged 12v side (also not giving negative).
  6. John from sentry is a member of the forum. If a problem with smarttrack then it would of been setup of sensors and that was a year or so ago It's been make much better with pc setup rather than manual set of each sensor.
  7. Hi Dirk ... Not as yet only for apple phone and pads Developer says sometime end of year
  8. Read my post numb nuts I said I was not having a go I was saying how they work But just let me remind you YOUR YEAR IN ANALOG CCTV MAKE YOU A LEARNER SO YOUR spec for your meter sold under your name is junk BUT TELL ME WHY DO YOU THINK UN PLUG MONITOR FROM DVRs monitor just to plug into that tester WHY WHY WHY JUST USE THE MONITOR WHY WHY HAVE A TESTER YOU CANT PLUG CANERA INTO AT CAMERA END (only SDI ) And your having a go at me Your selling as test monitor ITS NOT
  9. We had two ....... Problem is NO THEY DONT DO IP AND NO THEY DONT DO STANDARD ANALOG. and num-nut I am not pulling it apart ..... We bought two and it is misleading First it will only do analog if VGA output is taken from dvr and same with IP IF OUTPUT is taken from NVR. It's not a tester you can use at camera end. POE tester side is just multimeter Another good tester that works very well on IP https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/network-analyzer-ping-traceroute/id557405467?mt=8 And also displays camera image in wifi range and also alter ip addresses well worth a look

Using laptop monitor as an external monitor

I'm of two minds on this one. Yes giving the customer access can be good. However I have one customer who screws around too much and messes up passwords and the like. So she needs minimal access to her system. Hi that would be the owners problem .... But if she need quick accesse to her own system then that option should be there. Your other option is once system is set up make a recovery men stick for her to use But long term like everything she will get used to working her system

Using laptop monitor as an external monitor

Hi. Think the question to ask is why leave all your customers without monitors. What if customers network goes down or IP change

Cheap budget, but lots of cameras....

Hi. Look at a good hybrid dvr ..... Use existing cameras and add IP CAMERAS
  15. Hi. Shock is right only port 37777 is needed for IDMSS or vms You are best using your external ip to test your connection
  16. If you have nothing to say don't hit the submit button ITS THAT SIMPLE.. but I'll explain my posts to you as your only a DIYer Dvr starts up dvr displays OS AND cameras ......... So dvr is ok Camera display is distorted so now time to test each camera ...... One could be sending more power than it should be back to dvr making it reset ........ And also messing up the other 3 cameras SO ITS A TEST FOR THE OP SO AGAIN NUMB NUTS ........ STOP MESSING POSTS UP YOUR LIKE A LITTLE CHILD.

  18. Hi if your OS is showing up then you need to look at camera power supply. I would also undo all camera connections on dvr Test each camera same way as you did dvr direct to tv
  19. Hi. Also to change resolution you have a bnc video out on your dvr ... You can use that direct to a tv with av or a scart socket. Have you done a 20 minute reset ..........keep unit off for 20 minutes and switch back on before it's 30 minutes .... It's a auto re config.
  20. Hi. Not many installers add the wifi to the dvr .. So you are looking for a network cable from dvr to router. Do you know if the cloud side was set up

H 264 DVR stops recording problem

Blue drive will be your problem. Blue is 16mb cache and black is 64 Black will work in most units
  23. Hi be the same as a Dauha . Power down dvr and hold enter on panel when start up. Does the shop have a wifi router ? Unit might of gone back to its IP default and you don't need port forwarding if you can test via pad or phone
  24. First it would be a mistake going 16 Poe from nvr Look at avermedia 16 or dauha if in Europe
