Hikvision compatible VLC stream
tomcctv replied to almelst's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi best way is your VGA to composite to a DS-6101HFI-IP and call that back to NVR as say camera 2 -
hi. take a look in your PM for new manual also do you have a link to your cameras.
-
I don't know why analog would be more of a problem to set up ?? Also cat5 can be used for both. But for the system you have you do only have one option which is analog But before you go buying anything check to see if your dvr can take a PTZ ...... If not the joystick controller is needed Dahua and CNB both make good low cost and good PTZ

How fast of an internet required?
tomcctv replied to kaboose786's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
were to start your problem is you are quoting analog signal over coax and not digital signal. HD-SDI is recommended to go over good RG59 not RG6 (rg6 will give problems) signal degrades at 100m ........ no it goes off with digital with RG59 or RG6 its max of signal so extenders are needed at 95m to extend. however a few companies are now selling HDCVI with a coax range of 500m for 1080p & 720p HD video format. -
Completely New. Over 40 fast food locations. Need advice.
tomcctv replied to shatteredreamer's topic in General Digital Discussion
it all depends how you are selling 40 units to your customer. un like a store with stock which has stock loss from shop lifting a restaurants only loss is at cash register. POS in a restaurant does and will find his losses as POS is also his stock control do all his restaurants with just looking at customers will not locate his losses -

Costco or sams is not going to give you a search POS system ......... but your budget will get you a 3mp camera and full POS nvr. your post is all about POS then not for now. in which case Costco or sams will get you a 4 way analog system -
I was only asking what part of country you was in so as you could go view hd-sdi units to see what is available I can send you links but your not trade so price goes above your budget
-
what part of country are you .. see if your close to a store with demos

Hi good budget ......... HD-SDI 2 or 3mp would be at your low end budget. not hard to install if your a little handy. and a 1000 times better than B&Q systems

Cloud based or Analog Video control?
tomcctv replied to smurfcho's topic in General Digital Discussion
try doing something simple ...... load some of your camera footage from 3 days ago ??? and also give costs for getting footage you need back ......... do that a few times a year and NVR is much cheaper 3rd party is never any good just wastes money ......... your protecting your own property yet you don't have full control or control who from 3rd party is watching -
hi are you using software that came with camera ??? that's a few years old also have you done a firmware update

Robbery of rs 10million (still images required from CCTV)
tomcctv replied to Mohammed Ali's topic in General Digital Discussion
02.21 video was edited ......... how did all the people get out of room in seconds. edited video ............... it had to be edited while gang was still there........ in fact you can see a split second of footage being started again .......which also shows footage was rewind. but you still have not understood finger prints ........ look at guy who kicks in door .........his hands go were normally hands would not need to be on a door ...... footage shows you were to get HIS prints. you should have police back now with the information given about were prints can be found ....... which is the information collection that cctv also gives -
Robbery of rs 10million (still images required from CCTV)
tomcctv replied to Mohammed Ali's topic in General Digital Discussion
I think police are slow because of a few reasons main one your cctv footage. Your timeline has a break Besides the footage problem and no good face shots ....... Remember CCTV is also an information collector. And it shows that at least two of the gang are known to station owner someone who has worked there or who has spent time there. Reason >>>> knew about camera so switched lights off........which sounds normal ..............but he hits the right switch first time out of a bank of 12 switches. Same when getting keys from desk >>>>>>>> guy goes straight to right Drew and into left compartment ..........just as anyone would knowing that keys we're there. But apart from you footage ...........you have fingerprints (information side of your system) Sit watching footage mark off in office we're you see the gang touching things >>>>> ok finger prints can be all over the place as it's a gas station but this is we're CCTV also plays it's part. Door on right one of the gang sits on floor but as he does puts hands on bottom glass and frame of door "..............this is a good finger print location as it never gets touched in a normal day use. And apart from finger prints his shoe print is just as good So I would get police back to take finger prints on just that finding alone. But also a question has to be asked and was the footage staged... And some questions asked They switch off lights knowing about camera ........but in switching off lights would of made the IR on camera stand out yet everyone ignored the bright red glow...... Two second job to smash it off wall or cover it up ..............people don't like to damage there own equipment Why did they not take DVR ........ Was it needed to stage all this Which takes you back to the footage .........DVR WAS stoped and restarted ..... It shows in time line .......how did that happen -

Live video from end of driveway
tomcctv replied to 78westfalia's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
might like to try a simple idea for around $100 wireless car kit. mount camera up a pole at end of drive way connect to car battery at bottom of pole and use a $30 solar panel to keep battery up. mount monitor on car screen .............. you will only get image while you stop or pass the pole but that's all that is needed for your problem. -
You still keep saying there must be a way ....... Not by pointing camera at screen. But lg vms takes axis encoder. Parts needed VGA splitter at monitor VGA to composit convertor Axis encoder then feed to vms
-
there is a way but if you cant answer the questions how can people help forget about reading screen but if you let us know which ip camera and software then we can give you some ideas. windows based till
