Cloud based or Analog Video control?
tomcctv replied to smurfcho's topic in General Digital Discussion
Did you read terms of contract. ??? Go with analog system if 400 is your budget But that cloud with 3rd party involvement ....... Is not secure at all -
Why would anyone go with an analog camera system these days?
tomcctv replied to ak_camguy's topic in General Digital Discussion
dedicated network would just be the same as if you wired a analog system (point A to point B) ISP is not needed for IP. its the same point A point B just the same as coax. -

struggling with set up dahua 3301
tomcctv replied to DavidH's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi. david. am around androssan / pestwick area a few times a month. NVR is best if you just want to install and forget. but also PC with the PSS is also ok ..... its just PSS needs to be learned which takes the time. do you have another H/drive you can use for the PSS data. either in pc or external if so. click on config ..... bottom then recording path then click and pick the drive. see if you have problems then with pc lock. -

Where to buy Dahua on internt ?
tomcctv replied to gibbo's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I think its about time people buying from china are now starting to pay too much £1000 for 4 IPC-HFW3301C ??? that's £250 each ($500 each) and no support or warranty that's more than a official dahua distributor ...... dahua are protecting the customers now by blocking imports by none registered sellers -
Why would anyone go with an analog camera system these days?
tomcctv replied to ak_camguy's topic in General Digital Discussion
so analog at 1920×1080 and coax limit of 500m is a waste of time ??? the answer still is ........ its done its job for years so it still does its job. yes there are other formats but they can all still do the job of being a CCTV system. H.264 BP/MP/HP Level 5.0 MJPEG Up to 4 simultaneous streams Up to 14MP resolution spec above .........does that mean hikvision 2 or 3mp are to old to use out of date cant do the job ??? -

Why would anyone go with an analog camera system these days?
tomcctv replied to ak_camguy's topic in General Digital Discussion
Analog has been around for years .......70 years last month. So did it's job then no reason why it still can't do its job And dahua are just about to release a full new analog range. -
it is true in some cases ...... most basic DVRs need a manual input to send data to USB I think the OP is looking to mirror internal HDD from usb at the same time .... which in most cases can not do

Finger print readers with register problems
tomcctv replied to joseph.chen0312's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Finger readers are like cameras ......... You can go cheap sensors to electrical impulse . CCD sensors are the cheapest........ Work 80% of the time but have problems with multi users so sensor need cleaning ...... Which by your discripstion is your problem Screen has last persons print ...... Allowing none registered to have access also people who do have finger access the sensor is dirty so print is not accepted . -

Having just been through the same exercise although with an analogue NVR camera, here are a few things I've found. The target area in your case should be back down the road near the wheelie-bin. This is the spot that the vehicles are coming directly towards the camera. Your lens will need to be at least 50mm to get a clear image in all conditions. If you use a 50mm lens looking at you existing target area the car will transverse the FOV too quickly for the slower shutter speed used at night and the image will blur. If you adjust it back to say 30mm you may overcome the blurring but not get a clear plate image. This is just what I found on a recent job. no. that's not my camera ....... was just showing a hik has no chance at night ....... don't know which hik video is showing

Hi. That is over a mile away ??? Your best option is to buy a android pad if you have Internet That way if your unit is for door monitoring then you have video anywhere in your home

Sorry, but i do not understand You. Can You explain me more detail. Thanks. for baluns to work they need to be direct DVR to camera. (un balanced) as soon as you split cat5 then baluns cant do there job. you would be better cat5 to power supply like your picture then from power supply rg59 to cameras your picture is showing DVR blue/ blue w and orange / orange w for video yet at camera orange for both video too many joins for baluns to work as they should
