PTZ - configure with a DVR
tomcctv replied to neilvassallo's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi before you buy anything .... how old is the PTZ do you have pictures. some older PTZ were just coax and video controlled and they do not have RS485 which is needed to control from your DVR. you might need whats called a Manchester box which are not cheap -
Caught on camera- landscapers behaving badly
tomcctv replied to shockwave199's topic in General Digital Discussion
Can you explain that? Taking stuff from a garbage bin when you put it on the public street for pickup is unlawfull. When it is still on your own property it is theft by all standards if you did not give explicit permission to take it away. it depends how you look at footage. shockwave199 has put videos up a of his contractors before same people so uses the service a lot. contractor has a waste on back of truck so in his eyes thought he was doing a favour in taking a large bit of waste away. right or wrong it does look like a contractor doing a favour ....... and he does put fence with other waste he could of put it on other trailer if he wanted to keep it -
hi. in your video it shows com6 and in your management it shows com3. sorry its not clear in your video how your data is connected ...... can you give details of whats used. also you will still get data light flash even if your rs485 is the wrong way round .... try swap and power down each time

PTZ Goose (Swan) Neck Mount - Where to buy?
tomcctv replied to dorough's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
ok. then you will need to get creative. here is an idea. because the pitch of the roof you will need a full pitch adjustable pole. and your best place is your local satellite dish supplier. then with the standard wall PTZ bracket and a POLE mount bracket both from IC Realtime you will be able to put your PTZ anywhere on the building roof. -
PTZ Goose (Swan) Neck Mount - Where to buy?
tomcctv replied to dorough's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Yeah, that link is a bit quirky - it takes you to a page with several mounts. The swan neck is the one in the 5th thumbnail image. I don't see the part number you listed. More info is in Dahua's PDF here... http://www.dahuasecurity.com/download/179-180.pdf Who is that phone number to? Thanks for helping out! its IC realtime USA who hold all parts for dahua -

yes that's right....... un tick overwrite and it will display % again on screen once its full and you reset
-
sorry ...... you can set recorder to record till HD is full then it stops and you have to reset ...... hence % display overwrite the DVR will restart when HD is full
-
yes with the use of a new formatted drive you will see % once its full and over written the display will go. but can be found in playback or HDD management. switch off over write and it will come back. no point having % display on constant.

Hi. You can take your headache away by using a hybrid and that way keeping analog and ip all on one system -
Hi Robin. there are many things to take into account which I think you are missing. first is CCTV is used as evidence and it has to be 100% right. it cant be guess work ..... which is what poor images give. CCTV evidence is also information collection .... police will and would start an investigation if any of the cctv information is 100% and something for them to start work on. Police cant go on guess work (it costs THEM a fortune in compensation) in the UK and soon to be put into effect in Canada CCTV has to be fit for purpose before it can be used as evidence

best pushing one conector though at a time. so only need hole of the size of BNC which is the biggest. a supplier will say anything for a sale. but they look like plastic internal push on dome. best check as if are internal the first bit of rain is going to cost.
-
Have a think about it ........ Why do you need a hole the same size of power and bnc together ?? Why not just the size of bnc. Cut wires on camera end will void your warranty if you get any problems later. Your cameras look push on dome cover .....are they outdoor rated

Need some ideas for mounting this booger...
tomcctv replied to dorough's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. you location idea is a waste of a PTZ. if you look at blue lines your PTZ will not see anything inside the blue. your best location is on light pole far side of pool >>> pool car park area your camera will see more. but you will need to see the law in your state for using a PTZ in that environment. (classed as public) -
we don't have any problems with these. ASUS EN7200GS/HTD/256M, GF 7200 GS TurboCache, 256MB, DDR2 SDRAM, Graphics Card also two cards one can only be listed as master
-
Hi. With the 3008 hc cards you will need to install a good graphics card. It will not work with built in

Camera with good standalone email/ftp capabilities
tomcctv replied to Ghengis's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Is it not easier just to have direct link sent via email with pre and post footage. Having NVR/ dvr or camera sending full video is going to take time -
IP cameras with 2-way audio
tomcctv replied to atari37's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions

New Dahua Snapshot URL
tomcctv replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
no need to enter anything other than external ip in the aver. also if you use ONVIf compatable cameras then enter nothing in fields and just press search cameras. search cameras =LAN ip camera site = WAN (cameras of site and other NVRs) -
