Advice welcome on lens for 5MP box camera
tomcctv replied to mechBgon's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. I don't think you need to do anything with your lens ..... 5mp camera should pick up plates no problem. Your problem is mounting camera behind class ........ In every one of your pictures you are also getting image of counter. Overlay on your image. Plus you can't get 100% focus though a window. Befor you spend Any more money try mounting your camera outside. -

Need help with an installation
tomcctv replied to spyda337's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Yes it's your problem .... Dvr software on first start up will go and look for installed hard drive. Most dvrs will have a HD limit or size range. Your case it's should be 3.5 sata drive from 250 ... Upwards 1tb. 2.5 sata 40 will not work -

Hi. Your dvr may not support a ssd drive. Have you tried a standard 500 -
Why list it as suspicious characters ??? its clear they were picking up people.

Hi the guy is talking crap. what came first the DVR or AV drive ...... we still have 10 year old standard drives in DVRs the only thing you have not talked about is what cooling your DVR has. ??

Hi. looks like your not moving up much from your 5 year old card. ebay card ............... 1 channel Full D1 playback 480fps real-time H.264 CCTV Camera 16Ch Video + 8Ch Audio DVR PCI Security Card (INS-16DVRCARD02) it says D1 on 1 channel ............... rest will be cif but even there term for D1 is wrong ........... 704*576(PAL),640*480(NTSC) NOT D1
-
Hi. both say D1 but both show FPS for cif. both are cheap cards Do they have apps for mobile ??? do they use Proprietary software to view recordings ??? a DVR is so cheap now (with hard drive) why buy old

Dahua DVRs - Possible to do remote playback in iDMSS?
tomcctv replied to slopolytech's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. Yes play back is available but only on paid app. On the free app you can do direct recording from mobile and control lights or sensors . So you can get alarms sent to mobile then go to the app and start recording. But going back in time you need the paid app -
Hi. you will need time for forum members to reply. But both cards are 8 years old and run best at CIF. for 4 cameras your best just buying a standalone plug and play. you have already spent $100
-
Hi bodger. can you give us cable length. cable type used
-
Hi. think you will find you cant do much with a $30 DVR. your wasting your time if you think changing to a better software is going to make it any better
-
Yes that's not a problem .... Only thing to look out for is DVR to monitor connection. Some DVRs only have screen control via the VGA or HDMI and not from the composite output. A good make Bluetooth mouse will give you 35ft range to control your system with.
-
Hi. if you already have cameras or want to use both types then your looking for a hybrid NVR.
