Harddisk limitations for Aver EH1008H-4 Nano / NVR EXR6004-M
tomcctv replied to Robin2's topic in Digital Video Recorders

Remote cameras, no power or internet...
tomcctv replied to HiddenMountain's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi HiddenMountain. I have sent you a live link to a full solar axis PTZ. -
Hi. can you give more detail of how camera is fitted and located. reason why I ask is cable as far down as water table seems odd. plus even if water was getting into cable it in its self would still not fill camera (unless camera is also below water table)

DONT use rg6. its not a hot thing ....... its the right cable for that distance two monitors plus 4 cameras your distance you will need 2.400 ft of cable (400 each run) and also some boosters. CAT5 or 6 ........ to do same distance and have more control you only need 800 ft of cat5 1 x 400ft run for cameras (run 4 cameras on 1 cable) 1 x 400ft run for monitors and mouse control. so the value is quicker install ....... less cable costs........ and much better option when you install a better system later
-
Buy quality and they don't fail. For the distance you are going cat5 is standard practice. You will have problems mixing coax types
-
Hi rg6 is not for CCTV ..... best just having cable run without connectors. plus your distance cat5 or 6 is best with baluns. can install dedicated network so no impact on your existing LAN setup
-
Hi. why not keep it all simple ..... 4 way house and 4 way shop. you will have problems mixing RG6 with RG59. at that distance cat5 would be much better. then there is the problem of monitors at that distance. also two lots of power to one system can create power phase. cat5 cat6 that's going big........ gives you option to go IP MP cameras later

Is it possible to stay "invisible" i.e. freeze CCTV image?
tomcctv replied to ThomasSmith's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. manipulating some basic DVRs is not a problem. but he would need to have access to it when in house or have remote access to it via mobile software to stop and start recording. either way he would need to know your system and if he has been in your home then he will. first thing I would do is swap your dvr. sounds like your system does not have watermark or electronic signature. new DVR with a NEW DDNS service is your first place to start. also like in your other post I would install a GJD sensor inside by your front door where he enters and have that switch on your home light at front door area. with it all being new equipment he will not get passed it (as he does not know) also NEXT dvr look for watermark or electronic signature -
Hi. mikeloew1 sounds like COM port problem. this can happen if fitted a new mouse / keyboard or external USB drive. IF you go into your DS Control Point software and look under setting you will see which com port is used. then go into DVR setting then manage devices and in list COM. see if number matches that of your control point

Hi. Any cheap unit that shows the same FPS for both CIF and D1 stay away from What is your budget . ? -
Hi. undo your VGA cable and then connect to composit tv with BNC video out. you should then be able to get to settings on menu and reset your res back
-
Hi. why put your child through the same thing. let sitter see cameras let her know ...... also add audio
-
Hi. no don't via DVR front buttons menu twice is admin. ..... of if updated (2007) menu 1234 then menu
-
Hi For admin its admin and no password (leave password blank) manager with 1 as password user with 1 as password
-
Hi. BNC to VGA is not a good way to test cameras you are best testing cameras direct to composit into TV. you will then see if you have bad cameras. since money has been spent and you have cameras I would go hybrid and use existing and IP
