New Dahua NVR - 5MP, 240fps of 1080P and 8 PoE ports
tomcctv replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. th111447. your right in every aspect. and a dual core is out but its not a budget unit like the existing units out now. when we sell to a DIYer we explain if all they want is a good plug play leave and run then the dahua / Costco /q-see / qvis is ideal. but there are also DIYers who like to understand and build as they learn and upgrade cameras as they go. but you cant do this with the current systems. dahua also have a full new range of cameras 3 and 5mp with auto focus vf lens which will run on existing NVRs but cameras have to be removed to allow hardware to cope. so as well as camera upgrade NVR needs to be as well. this is the problem with having a NVR controlled by cameras rather than a NVR that is not -

Love it you have a go at me for posting limitations about this tread the fix for that is dahua FTP site and download firmware from February ....... then you will have 16 x 1.3 at 10 fps across all 16 and it will allow 5mp but then you can only run 1x 5mp and 11 x 1.3 giving a total of 12 cameras -

tomcctv replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
See you don't have the 4 channel listed. I bet she never told you that adding the 5mp brings the limit of the NVR right down Take the 8 channel ......you can have 3 x 5mp cameras .....they say 4 but for any descent frame rate 3is max. So it turns a 8 channel NVR into a 3 channel .......you can't fill the other channels it's maxed out The 4 channel as a standed NVR is ok .......till you add a 5mp but it max out with 1x5mp and 1x 2mp -

System Setup for Bar Cash Register (Loss Prevention)
tomcctv replied to BrianChicago's topic in System Design
ok ill try and explain. picture 1. take a look first at your ceiling heights ........... you are going to have to use something like a box camera with 50m lens and it to be a true day night...... BUT look at your picture. the staff are always infront of register.......camera is always blocked. if you have camera pointing down DIRECT over register then with that type of register (vertical display) then your not going to see the amounts on display. and the amount of cameras you need to look at stock / register/ person being served. but I would forget dahua DVR and just use one axis 5mp 360 that way you will catch most of what you need http://www.sdmmag.com/articles/88342-180-panoramic-network-cameras-with-up-to-5mp-resolution -

System Setup for Bar Cash Register (Loss Prevention)
tomcctv replied to BrianChicago's topic in System Design
hi. then I would start with registers first. if there that old then installing a none POS dvr like the dahua will just be a waste if you say deside to change registers in a year. looking at your bar pictures ....... you can just see why that bar has losses. -
only if you buy the dahua ........ your link show the LX which is not
