Can Any Analog Camera Compete With An IP Camera?
tomcctv replied to PM5K's topic in Security Cameras
YES if looked at as a security product. yes MP has a much better res but thats it. analog still does the job as a security system and has done for over 60 years. Hi ilk. take it you have also had the white paper regarding some of the MP tech such as 360 cameras. be interesting to see what happends to footage from them in the courts -

tomcctv replied to newbie2's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
dahua had a 16 port nvr 2 years ago on the market for all of 2 months now take the swann 8 way ....... look at the amps in total for the unit....... bad start to a new NVR. but then the security side ...... built in goes down (nvr goes off) full system dead. have a second back up from none built in POE. nice to have at least 1 camera going off to back up ........ built in if NVR is taken all cams are dead -

you are best looking at there main site sunlux is Lorex. and avtech even as a low budget unit is much better at least its D1 lorex 4. 4 channel digital video recorder • H.264 compression video compression¹ • Real time recording @ 360 x 240 resolution • Pentaplex operation - View, Record, Playback, Back Up & Remotely Control the system simultaneously • 24/7 100% Duty cycle hard drive pre-installed
-
Since you have access to both can you not do it yourself ???????? But I would go for the avtech ........ Been around for a long time and has lots of places to get support

DVR: AVE MVDR 5000 vs. GVI AR-6040. Which one?
tomcctv replied to NorwayCCTV's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Thank you for your insight, Tom. I am fully aware of the AVE being a "NOS"-unit. I like it for it's compact size and stability ("set and forget"), because I am going to hide it in a cramped space. I beg to differ: It has networking and supports Internet Explorer, according to the user manual. Sorry should of made it more clear .......the network side is not supported. So you will have problems getting software........ You used to buy updates via memory card. -

throw it away ........ its getting brought into the UK via ebay and it is not rated for UK power What do you mean by that? 12v DC is 12DC at the end of the day? trading standards has a collection building up first they over heat to the point were you dont let power supply sit on carpet. then there is the problem of not being CE certified (must be printed on unit) ones i have seen have not. but yes your right 12v is 12v anywhere. but £40 on untested voltage and none CE compliant -
