  1. Please check the recording resolution of the Aver Mini! It's D1/NTSC (max 720 x 576!). DAHUA can do FullHD (1920 x 1080) - so there is no point in comparing them. (Later patch version shows 1.3MP as recording, but still way under FullHD recording); also compression is not H.264 for D1/1.3MP. That's the hybrid side of the unit .........recording for camera is what you have camera set at.
  2. Aver nano .....it will save him $200. To view lots of cameras on PSS it's in CIF If for NVR. Better PSS direct from camera. But then limited. I took a look at the Aver units. Interesting. The nano is a hybrid DVR but the mini is an NVR and compares well to the Dahua DH-NVR3204. But the Dahua has a built in switch and the mini requires an external switch. The Aver unit would end up costing $200 more, after buying a switch. But thanks for the tip. It was worth a look. I would forget the built in switch .........bad way to pick a NVR just as it has built in POE ........ For 7 cameras you would still need a switch anyway. As far as FPS only dahua NVRs do this cameras are controlled by NVR so you get limitations .......in both res and 3 party cameras. ( which again dahua NVR is limited) As mp comes cheaper you will need to swap dahua to update we're as a NVR that is controlled by the cameras .......can be updated for years.

  4. Yes that's an option .....buy 2 and us PSS in CIF to view ......op wanted quality images. And the cost of two units ......WILL cost more than a goos NVR ...be cheaper getting a good vms.
  5. Hi. 4 of 2 mp and 3 of 1.3 mp will limit the dahua NVR ......you will have to run the system at D1 .......or use 1.3 mp No point buying 2mp to only use it's lowest resolution. Dahua NVR controls the cameras .....a good NVR does not so you don't get the limitations.

  14. I guess I need to either up my budget or give up on IP based system. Checked Costco UK having seen the thread about their Q-See kit, given their excellent service and returns policy figured it may be worth a try. Unfortunately they only offer swann analogue kits in the uk Can anybody recommend an analogue setup I can research within my budget? Obviously with an analogue system I'd need a DVR aswell. hi swann is one to stay away from .....costco cant sell dahua in the uk. as they have there own distribution. what is your budget.

  16. i. your problem is y-cam. ip camera it is but low res. if that is your budget then i would stay analog over the y-cam.

    CCTV Camera Advice

hi. if your looking at only 1 cameras take a look at the avtech ip its better and cheaper than what you have listed. if your looking for more than 1 i would not use the camera you have listed to build a system ......far far cheaper to install a analog and still have remote viewing as well as recorded footage saved (which you dont have with camera listed) unless you use a dedicated pc
