  3. after seeing a report on amazon its not hard to understand why products are late or slow ........ there is no such company as amazon uk. its only a web address they own. most goods from UK are shiped direct from outside of uk to avoid tax same with america 90 billion and little taxes
  4. hi. around $20 ...... are monitors in same location
  5. Looking for Inexpensive .......tends to cost you more. ONVIF. Is on lots of cheap no name china crap.........the maker is not even a member .....so you will have problems finding software to run the camera,, Buy local and save time and money

CCTV camera help. A few questions :)

Hi. what make is your hybrid unit ??? you seem to be going backwards. dont buy more cameras just yet. which cameras do you have up now ??? the samsung you have listed are fixed lens and not that good. if the images now look bad its because the samsung is a CIF unit (set at its best)
  10. 700 ft (over 200m) without a booster with rg59

    DAHUA NVR3204

Support will not help on an old unit .......... How many and what cameras are you using ? Your NVR is again being a dahua is limited .....you can only use 1, 2 mp or 4, 1.3 @ d1
  12. Ok check PM it's half price and easy to set up.........but it's $250 If he does not want to pay that ..........it's simple he can't have pos...........remember he is asking you for it..........unless you said dvr would do pos.
  13. How much do you want to spend ???? $250 will get you POS ........that's each register. But you need to also ask if they want search or just overlay. How many Chanel is the dvr
  14. hi remove resistor from camera. not needed in star. also do you only have 1 pair to each camera. and are you using 2400 or 9600
  15. no not junk but limited and budget system ............. problem with dahua over the past few months (USA side) is it is very very over priced. buy a good nvr with no limits and supports 1000s more cameras than dahua can be found.................. this then lets you update as MP cameras come cheaper for 3 or 5 mp we sell dahua and have done for years .....but we would not use in a buisness install. dahua now have a free cloud storage which usa sellers dont or cant pass onto customers. your budget is good and axis cameras are a good (axis have some good cameras comming out this month)
  16. hi so your talking back office system (pos reporting PC) then the likes of BI will slow it down and also if it is used as admin pc its not good to have it as a security unit. how many cameras are you looking for ??
  17. why his budgets fine........
  18. for a restautant yes it is important (very) if a table has not paid or staff not shure ........10 mins there gone Well now you are talking about live view, before you were talking about how long it takes to search recordings with Axis Companion vs a dedicated recorder. I agree with you that for a restaurant or retail shop, live view is best as it lets the employees keep an eye on things... on the other hand, in a busy restaurant there is normally no one with enough time to sit there looking at a DVR feed. no am not talking live view............ say a table get ready to leave and the staff dont know who they payed or if they did pay .........you need quick play back to check
  19. very bad idea....... this is not saving money its a risk.....and can be expensive to installer. using POS system and loading software onto it can and will have problems
  20. for a restautant yes it is important (very) if a table has not paid or staff not shure ........10 mins there gone
  21. hi..... sell customer a foscam ......and watch them get upset. if your not looking at a NVR now and you cant use a PC how are you going to give your customer a view of there cameras
  22. " title="Applause" /> " title="Applause" /> love it .......its your add..........if he needs outdoor cameras ......then sell them from the start also there is the lite2 which records direct to unit .......lite needs storage.
  23. cutting nvr costs means using a pc ???? which op has said he does not want. it is always best to have a monitor showing in a bar or restraurant. just so staff can keep an eye on none payers
  24. aver nvr. not limited like the dahua also as a sales ptch have POS takes most IP cameras with no licence costs
  25. Hi. You only need 1 com port and it's best not to use com port 1 as you will get conflict with mouse or keypads. Have you gave each camera an address cam 1 , cam 2 in camera settings on camera ....not on software. ( might be call cam ID on Sony)
