tomcctv replied to evnldr's topic in General Digital Discussion
hi. in your link go to features. 1.H.264 main profile compression algorithm ideal for standalone DVR 2.4 channels Realtime full D1 recording or 2 channels real time full D1+ 6 channels real time full CIF recording, and real time multi channels playback that dvr ONLY has 4 channels..........dont know were they get 6 from 9.Powerful network software:built-in web server,multi-DVR client &SMS sms is text alet only. so spec is crap to start with its a $50 unit with $10 off if you buy from that seller........ buy the time seller imports from china i think your looking at a $20 unit............. i spend that an hour on coffee do yourself a favour........get yourself down to starbucks you will get more for your money........keep the system you have -

tomcctv replied to evnldr's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. The unit you listed is and looks like a converted PVR. Spec hides it's true performance. It's D1 only while live view .....record is CIF It will not send you images only SMS alert And the part that gives it away as a converted PVR is hard drive goes to sleep which is never a good thing.........you will miss 10 to 20 seconds of any event as HD needs to start and get upto speed. You also need to look for green drives not standard if your going to install your own. But your just buying $40 crap. -

Hi. Please forget about POE..........not needed for your camera......it's not IP In your first picture the lead in your hand is only for focusing camera from test monitor at camera end.......... You may not need it......... What cable are you going to be using to connect to your camera ? If its cat5 then a single balun at each end. (No need for balun with power). Then the little green plug in bag in your pic connect to existing cat5 cables. D 1 pair .....say blue / blue white is for video (balun) Then use all solid colours for + power and rest for - power -
Hi. Problem is your budget .......PTZs will take up your budget alone.

Hi. That's not a dahua camera .......it a analog no need for Poe or injectors. Just standard rg59 or cat5 with baluns is needed then a power supply for camera power. -
External residential CAT5 installs.... tips?
tomcctv replied to voip-ninja's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi ......be careful of pre made .....with water tight ends ......they don't exist. Cat 5 has been out well over 30 years .........people new to the industry think cat5 is new........for your application all you need is standard......it will last more than your 10 years -
External residential CAT5 installs.... tips?
tomcctv replied to voip-ninja's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Standard cat5 will do just what you need.......it's been around for years for both internal and external. If its clipped then you will have no problems at all. Paint over it and it will last years -

Hi. No it has nothing to do with how you power cables or camera. That mod dahua is very limited.........sounds good on paper I,E run 19 analog OR 16 ip BUT ONLY AT A LOW RES The op wants 2 x 2mp 1x 1.3. But that puts recorder at its absolute max. Better with 4x 1.3mp But the area the op wants to cover / protect 1.3 is low. NVRs that control camera are never good. NVRs that take commands from camera are always best no limits -
Hi. Din systems are not the best things to convert .......you will spend more on converting your old camera than it is to buy new. Power to camera will be a problem for you (most were 5-7volt) Din are balanced systems .... So you will have problems with quality connecting them to 75ohm And not all din systems are the same .......you might find din cable adapters but not comparable with yours Before you star spending money think is it worth it first

Hi before you start to install .......just some points you need to look at. First you have the basic dahua hybrid. It will not run your ip cameras at there best res........you are going to have to set them at D1. Which is a waste. You might want to change dvr/NVR before you start your project -
16 Cameras installation by co-owners for boundary wall
tomcctv replied to shravank30's topic in System Design
Before you fill with spam get your own house in order first TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR 1.3mp Model - SX-N1280R/WVFD What is it analog or ip............you can't even get that right -
Look at RES first then FPS.

help with auto scan on vcl honeywell
tomcctv replied to 27901591's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. It will depend on your dvr. Most now will control a PTA but only s few will allow you to store commands. If yours is control only then your other option is to also run a controller along with your dvr. This will give you problems if you use remote viewing and control of ptz. -
Hi HD will do 25 fps on all

Recommended budget/residential NVR software?
tomcctv replied to voip-ninja's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Just what I would expect an elitist secret society to say. They hold their head up high and put themselves in a catagory of their own inferring that Milestone XProtect Enterprise, ExacqVision Pro, Luxriot Pro, NUUO, Geovision that share pricing and offer trial downloads to anyone with a computer are non-pro software that are not worthy, yet they fail to show any evidence of their superiority. Ok I'll put it another way............ There has to be security products that NEED to stay out of the public domain. Or you can't call them hight security products. Avigilon do and will alway be used in high risk areas America . Canada . Uk. You do blogs on security...........if you can't understand why avigilon sell the way they do or protect there software.....and the reason why then you need to sit back and think. Avigilon products Have to be protected...and for good reason. -
Recommended budget/residential NVR software?
tomcctv replied to voip-ninja's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Avigilon have a very good reason why they operate that way...it is a pro software. And are world leaders in what they do.... Putting out into DIY market makes it not a pro product. -
