tomcctv replied to quintain's topic in Introductions
Hi. quintain nice part of the country got a few installs your way. i would say dont buy direct from china or ebay. as you are a farm you do need a system that works and has good warranty and back-up. what is your budget. there is a good supplier in your area. -

Distorted Image / interference on Camera image
tomcctv replied to ismcctv's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
hi cat5 is always at its best as a full lenth. your only talking 180ft video pair is fine. but for power use green pair for - and brown pair for + this will give etter amps to your camera. and i would also look at putting this camera on its own power supply also are these true video baluns. lots of crap on ebay listed as baluns but are not. -
PTZ cam whith which cables can be command dc+bnc+rca?
tomcctv replied to vidos's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Hi. if you are doing a new install i would take the extra time to do the cable work as these lead kits do not last and do not give you the best signal. i would look at buying a reel of cat5 this will give you more options now and in the future. -

Bought PST-DVR616 - Firmware to improve GUI?
tomcctv replied to areinike's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. its not worth the risk. its embeded. once you try to change you have no going back dvr will be just a big door stopper -
So this is the inconvenient place of a CCTV camera. May be next time you will use an ip camera. Because an ip camera is more convenient than a CCTV camera and is cheaper too. From asking type if connection you deside best off going IP. .. Just got to love it

wireless to your TV ??? just buy a modulator and put it back into place. you will then see camera on all TVs. looking at your picture you have coax distribution around your house. wirelessly. with your links is a waste of money (cheap and low range)
-
Hi. yes its just a standard camera. with having a F connector it may have only been used for live viewing. just connected to a modulator then into your TV distribution (which is in your picture) but the last owner may have taken the modulator. are you looking to record with this camera ??

need new domes for sunkwang ptz cams, in the UK
tomcctv replied to gazz's topic in General Digital Discussion
hi. found 3 .... 2 clear and 1 gold. i will take pics tomorrow with sizes for you to check. if they are the same which they should be as that ptz is still made today. i will let you have the 2 clear for nothing. -
do you think so. ???? your link // hong kong / cheap fixed lens / not a day night / lucky if you have warranty (without the high cost of YOU shipping back) and the spec listed has nothing to do with camera. so you will find out $95 is a waste of money. and have to buy another say $95 = $190. or you could buy local and have a demo before you buy and also have a place to return if warranty needed

justbeen on you tube and the bloke was saying that I can use
tomcctv replied to halsaps's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
hi. if your under cable runs are not extream then yes 4 way baluns 1 cat5 will run 4 cameras. if you dont have network tools then look for direct connection or both. -
Yes always install a dedicated network. BUT THAT IS THE LEAST OF YOUR PROBLEMS lucky someone knows dahua products. you are using a network recorder but your going to use SDI cameras as well as IP ???? not with that recorder also 32 cameras (2mp) with 2 recorders is only going to give you D1 recordings. so your customer is paying for 2mp cameras but your just giving them the next stage up from analog if your going to sell megapixel at least sell products that get you there. infact if you do some work around the forum and look at other IP recording methods you will find better and in your case cheaper. in your setup the recorder is a very weak point.
