Recommendations for a megapixel IP box cam ~$500
tomcctv replied to SpyGuy10's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. for a airport application i dont think a fixed MP camera is the way to go. its a lot of money just to have 1 field of view. in your case the runway, which might be all you need. but to have an option to move the camera gives you greater options on money you will be spanding. just watching a runway 24/7 its doing its job if you have lots of flight in and out in a day. but if you are only looking at say private flights only a few a day then your camera is not working for you. use a PTZ and not only will it watch your runway but you can also have it do security work. most airfields have display or open days again your investment will work for you there. Sony have a very good PTZ for not much more than your budget if you want to have a play with a live camera PM me and i will send you the link -
hi. if you have more than 1 point you will also need to put a faceplate filter on each one. or just use a plug-in filter on each outlet.

Hi. stephanovich can you list the make of your DVR. or a picture. your dvr may have some software around
-
Hi. if you have coax or cat5 to every tv then £46 will buy you a 1 in 8 out dis amp. tv out from dvr to box gives you upto 8 outputs and boosted.

can anyone help me with this stupid DVR
tomcctv replied to cloudy's topic in General Digital Discussion
sorry yes dropbox has a problem. in pics in place. they do its called PSS. it does take time to learn. but once everything is done via the PSS then just using DVR mouse will make it simple. admin then admin. then shuts down. you can also remove passwords from the PSS software. -
you could also have a problem with your phone line. every output MUST have a filter and its also best to run off the master than a secondery outlet. as extentions if not done right (called spidered) will also give you slow functions.

Indoor camera for outdoor?
tomcctv replied to jdowning's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
http://www.dahuasecurity.com/English/product_info.aspx?type=339&&css=0&&id=8 for a lot less money and onboard storage or in the UK (only) avers does a 1.3mp for around £90. but you still need a housing for that. but has audio. -
swann are very basic systems. to cut down on bandwidth try making another remote viewing account with just your PTZ available. i.e. set up a remote password for full system and another password just for your PTZ. also with a sunkwang i would change from 9600 to 2400

Hi. its like everything new. time is needed to learn everything. to set snapshot. just go into PSS software then at bottom you will see config click that then options. then you will see where snapshots are sent. you can change this rule to say your desktop to make it easy. -
Indoor camera for outdoor?
tomcctv replied to jdowning's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. yes in ireland and the UK the geo is expensive remember it is only a 1.3mp with a price range of. £340 to £480 ($700 to $900) while others are lowering there prices geo needs to follow. have a shop around first your in the price range of 2 or 3mp external cameras. and by the time you put the geo into a housing you are looking at around £500 which is over a $1,000 -
Hi. its always a better option to plan a system were neighbours are not involved. CCTV is your protection and if install right then no conflicts with neighbours. and if its your new house. your the new neighbour. no one wants to have a cctv lodger looking over there property. if your in the States then some states have regulations that may be worth checking ..... but if your system is planned good from the start then you have no issues to start with.
-
same applies to those who dont understand baluns and cat5. Circuit board in a balun ...... this could be your problem...... it a coil. but calm down a little. some installers like coax some like cat5 and neither reflects how someone runs there company
-
Hi. i would remove your link. you have not done any protection on it. everything works fine ...... you are best off removing all your dvr activex files and starting again.

Help me: How to record my shop for one month or one week
tomcctv replied to mishal's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. for a shop use you are going to be looking at a big expensive SD card. you would be better off just buying a 4 way kit much better than cheap SD card cameras. -
hi. not with a Dahua ...... its limited from the start. its not a true hybrid.... your limitd both with analog and ip if using the 960h hybrid. with older cameras. they are fine but if the software was done before Onvif then you are going to be stuck if dahua does not have a workable patch to enable your cameras to work

Hi. for standard enclosure. these are priced good http://www.apexcctv.com/c-106-box-camera-housings.aspx

Quality RG59, where to buy?
tomcctv replied to vbman213's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. buying cable online seams a waste of time. ..... its not the lightest thing to ship ..... and if you have a problem reel its your cost sending back. best off calling to your local electrical distributor....... they should also hold some in stock for you. cat5 is another way to go. -
Hi. its been out for a long time. For the price it is very limited to other better hybrids out there. even with another hybrid you can run 16 1mp cameras and not be limited as you will be with the dahua / hikvision.

Multiple TV's to show my DVR pictures??????
tomcctv replied to roblondon28's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. the extender you have listed is known as the piramid in the UK. you will need two sets for a house. (they bounce off each other) But they are useless without video. as in you also need to run cables to your TV. the apollo is a dahua DVR unit. if it is staying in the loft i would connect your DVR via internet over power. then i would just buy a cheap android tv box ( start from 60 - £70) and have control with the app
