need help setting up remote viewing with 2wire
tomcctv replied to bigerk's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. we know your router as a BT 2 wire. does it look like this ??? if so forget adding your DVR ip to it. when you have all connected go into router and look at devices connected. you will see all your devices as Mac addresses. you may ned to unplug your dvr and back in to see which its mac address is. then write it down. go to services and then dropdown box and look for your dvr mac address then click firewall and you can then give the mac address a name i.e CCTV then below ports allow enter yours then save and log out -
that is more than ground loop. take a look at the cars going past ... that has nothing to do with ground loop. which DVR are you using ??? also type of hard drive used ( i have seen green type do this) VpsjUPtQ6yw

Sorry to dig an old one up, but did you ever get the focusing issues resolved? I'm getting the same issues with my CNB, I'm starting to think its just noise reduction smearing and not really a focus issue. hi. for CNB it is best to focus at night to get the best from your camera. but you have another issue. and its not camera related...... i would work on the ghosting problem you have first.

this is were the forum saves you money. geo does not sell on ebay and they dont support ebay or amazon sellers. geo are the most copied cards on the market. you will have no updates or firmware support. if you are only looking for a 4 way card look at the NV3000 MP on 1 channel other 3 analog or all 4 analog and cheaper than geo from a distributor.

tomcctv replied to fifi11's topic in Digital Video Recorders
hi. yes your right. 1024 x 768 is width x hight. width x hight and pixel are only a form of measurements ..... you need data to give the quality -
hi. its always best to run a cctv system on its own dedicated PC ..... but aver NV5000 cards are a good price.

Why Ip camera is better than analog?
tomcctv replied to ab2reza1360's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. at the end of the day its technology that changes it was not all that long ago we all had one of these. did its job and would still do its job if you had one today but very limited in quality. now we can all record just like the big movie makers. record what you actually see with your eyes. Analog. is limited to Pal or NTSC in size take PAL max 576 lines ..... this is why you will see a lot of forum post saying dont go over the top on specs with 600-700 tvl most of the time its just sales. nothing wrong with analog if a full D1 DVR ...... some state D1 as just live viewing but only record in CIF as you can see from image above CIF has a max of 288 lines which is screen size in the PAL or NTSC world but when it comes to looking at cameras you will find analog listed as NTSC 352 × 240 and PAL 352 × 288 which is the actual picture size. try and fill screens of today means you stretch the image which leaves you nothing if you want to zoom or edit to get a better image. D1 NTSC 720 × 480 or PAL 720 × 576 is the standard screen size max for analog and this is the least you want to look for in a analog system. going MP megapixel give a much more better quality image analog being 576 (pal) max were as MP (3mp) gives 1536 lines. or higher now with 5mp ........ this gives a a high res crisp and clear image and for the first time allows you to zoom in to footage before it becomes destorted -

soundy. you should see gas prices here. £6 a gallon thats $14 for 1 gallon -
Hi dman that will change when using zoneminder. 200 homes to protect needs a good system you are going to be limited with a linux based PC. sounds like you work with linux but does not mean you have to build a system with it. 200 homes to protect it needs to to its job. look at windows based. you will have much more options even going hybrid (analog and IP) or look for already built standalone hybrids

License Plate Camera Situation and Recommendation
tomcctv replied to tutech's topic in System Design
Hi. nothing wrong with the camera ..... its just not in its working range. the hight of the camera is ok but the Reg-x only has a max view of 19 feet. you are well past that. then you also have another problem. as seen here. not only is the plate out of range you are also trying to capture as it is being moved up and down with the vehicle moving over the speed bump. and also like said before CIF is best for these cameras at max fps and not on motion -
