Door Peephole camera install
tomcctv replied to excableguy's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
hi. i would look at doorframe cameras. much better than installing into doors. as soon as you open the door to anyone the camera becomes useless ...... if you have a nice hot day and only use your screen door again your door cameras sees nothing. much easier to install a camera into a door frame than door. -

New setup for small shop. Where to position and what camera?
tomcctv replied to Integraoligist's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi for your budget i would look at 4 ESIP-MP2-DM1 cameras and run them on a aver nano. this will allow you to view remote .. or record on site and away (your home) connect to your cash register see what you are selling and cash amounts and not bother about buying a licence to run this or that. for the cost of a licence its the cost of a hybrid -

stand-alone road intersection control
tomcctv replied to mpm's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi a camera looking at anything is a surveillance system. without any monitoring you will have the risk of the camera being down when needed or lens has crap on it . how are you going to power the camera ???? lots of ways to get live view from remote sites...... these will be city cameras. do you have hotspots or 3-4g none of which are expensive. -
stand-alone road intersection control
tomcctv replied to mpm's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi. this is one of the times that calculators dont work. at a road intersection motion detect will not work. it will at night (low traffic) so everyday someone needs to drive to camera and download footage ???? getting network to the camera will be best. record at monitoring location and be able to monitor 24/7 -
hi. no that will not work. you would also need to add a modulator ........ it would be cheaper to just buy a $10 USB dvr from the likes of amazon

Noob has an ESDV-FULLD1PRO-32... has PTZ Question
tomcctv replied to SFD's topic in Digital Video Recorders
hi. with having a 32 way you can have upto 32 ptz. A&B connects to all cameras. if you are thinging of adding more ask about the dahua PTZ .... with you having the Dahua you dont need a controller or OSD controls. all you need to do is click ptz camera then your mouse becomes the controller .... move mouse left ..your ptz moves left same with right and up and down mouse wheel is your zoom in and out -
Comparing NVR vs PC for a single camera system.
tomcctv replied to jasauders's topic in General Digital Discussion
to be honest going though build your own just for a foscam is a lot of work for a basic camera. look at a 4 way aver or dahua. hide the dvr in the holiday home and you will have a better system. plus its not an expensive way to have 4 cameras and you can also cover outdoors. network it all watch from anything remote and even record to another PC. holiday homes are best with more than 1 camera incase 1 goes down. -
that is the old sanyo P. you are looking at 8 years old. you also need the viewing software to view on a PC. and also the people you give the footage to will also need the player. you can like you said go direct to video player. but if you are going to keep the system then i would go for something like the avermedia converter. it will give your dvr a few more years use. plug into monitor out into pc press record on pc screen display direct to dvd. http://www.avermedia.com/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id=505

tomcctv replied to dawgenstein's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
hi if all cameras are showing video loss then it points to your power supply. you can pick up a new one for a round $60 but i would look at this type that the small single unit with fly leeds from q-see. -

Help me choose the exact cams and DVR indoor setup
tomcctv replied to jhill's topic in Security Cameras
hi with it being a Restaurant is all money done at till area ??? there are some good DVRs out with good POS. and for a restaurant till money and orders to kitchen can also be logged (if you have electronic ordering) that way you can see orders as well as till cash for a little 4 way i would look at the aver hybrid it has utp pos and searchable data base i.e put in pepsi and it will tell you how many was sold that day. the good thing about going hybrid for the dvr 1 of your cameras (or all) can be a good mp camera which will give you good coverage of your cash register area
