hi yes that is the same with most if bought when fitted. but i had a look at the sales link some say record for 2 years and this link just cracks me up. Product Description The SN501-16CH-006 is a do-it-yourself video security package that has it all. Protect your property, valuables, and family with advanced features that you can setup yourself. Know who enters your property even when you are away with the online viewing feature that lets you check in from any computer in the world with Internet Explorer. Access your DVR's live footage from your smart phone. This security system is loaded with user-friendly features that will help keep your business or home safe and secure. The SN501-16CH-006 is an effective and simple security solution that can record over 8 years of continuous video on the built-in 500GB hard drive. thats on Amazon. i dont know what your customer is looking for in data storage but they might be better looking at setting the dvr to its optimum settings i.e motion record only. some DVRs like the aver will backup via usb from a time given. but then you are just wasting money on hard drives. 16 cameras on a aver set to smart record on 1tb drive will give 25-30 days storage

hi. first thing i would do is swap the problem camera with another you have installed and see if it does the same in another location. and make shure that the camera is not looking at any light in its FOV. the problem with kits is power supplies and the cable used. (yours has din connectors to RCA) and 60ft long. with all cameras being IR when they switch over some power units dont have enough power for the surge and 1 or 2 camera might not switch over. and thin wires can also limit amps needed. can you give details of your power supply volts and amps .

if you need to pay for a avers app then its not from aver ... they are all free. another neat way for ipad is to load remote viewer onto windows based avers and that way you get full OSD with full control. its on test but will be out soon.

Are you saying the DVR has a an encoder and wireless chip that can connect to wireless networks or a dvr that wirelessly transmits an analog signal? Do you have a model number? hi its the new range from dahua wifi and 3g 3g is only for sending alarms from dvr if used in a remote location. part number are not being releast till next week they are a network dongle that can be programmed

found 5 american dynamics cctv camers and want to add them
tomcctv replied to halsaps's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
hi tyco are good cameras. sold in the uk by honeywell. for 100 and 200 meters then i would put in a dedicated power supply or seperate power at each location. also for that distance i would use cat5 with baluns. -
cctv system that is ideal for every ones home
tomcctv replied to Gengiz's topic in General Digital Discussion
hi your budget is a bit low for anything more than a good 4 way camera system. as far as a PTZ £400 would just buy a good CNB ptz alone. dahua zeus 4 way DVR ... 4 F/v D/N cameras power supplies reel of rg59 all fittings and full BNC tool kit (stripper-crimper-) is just about your budget. -
Hi. i think what you are asking is can you use the usb as extra storage ??? no that is not possable it is used just for backup ..... and is limited to size. you might be better just going from 500gb to 1tb drive. (if your dvr supports it.

hi. aver iphone app is fine....... if you have poor res it will be the stream settings on the dvr. next to handy viewer you have options to change the res.

hi. or screw on connectors. yellow to + and black to -

hi. tommy i take it the cameras are still controlled via the hand controller ??? the problem with the old baxall is they have no protocol so your 485 is usless from your dvr. you can spend the money and convert the data but with having the WBX (controls on camera) it is very costly. to the point you will save money buying new cameras and the fact you are converting very old cameras.

NVR Software Reviews
tomcctv replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi. there is no way you can test software from demos from a company. if your not hands on with the equipment then you dont know how it proforms. that will be down to you having no Experience either with the software or how to add patch. The best place for people to come is a forum. ask people who have used software and get real demos and footage samples. not only that but installers have been on Courses (which take you past what is found in manuals) and can i just point out. 100s of people on the forum give advice and help total free to members. it is a bit insulting when YOU keep directing members from the forum to YOUR website. taking free info from here from members to build your website up is just Defeating the Object -
What difference in Blue and Red IR LED`s ?
tomcctv replied to stephanovich's topic in Security Cameras
hi. another way is to setup a security light and a camera to give you the light you need. put 1 as close to your problem area as possable. you can pick these up for £40 no power needed. and along with a good camera you should get the footage you need. UK police now use SPO officers to domestic problems and they are limited to what they can do. so the better your images the more you can do. -

hi no not from B&Q. you will get everything from City electrical factors. you can do it with either cat5 or coax. how far will the cameras be from your dvr and do you have mains power near to where you are installing your cameras ??? -
must be a typo ..... is your wall 40ft ???? or did you mean 52 inch. we have two 60 inch for 64 cameras and a 50 inch for alarms and emap. on 1 wall.

it is dependant on the routers ip. but with using BT it does not change as much as other ISPs and BT sell static cheap anyway. i would just set your system up first without a ddns and get there new router (there free) if you have been with them over 12 months. and get a static ip. dahua (which is your dvr) are also about to bring out there own ddns which area are you in ?
-
hi. yes it can be connected to a ddns service. can i ask why you are on the old BT router. i would think about getting the new one and then not use a ddns service.

Advice on Installing RG59+2 cable in UK homes
tomcctv replied to smcctv's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi vic. you are best using cat5 (you only need 1 cable) and power your cameras from your loft. in the uk hidding in the cafity wall can be easy of not at all. this will depend on how old your house is and if you have (or will ) have cavity wall insulation. can you draw a little picture of your layout ?? -
hi. simple way is a 4 way balun at DVR then cat5 to area to another 4 way balun then coax from balun to camera. cat5 is always best as a single run with no connections.

all that is being pointed out is auto tracker does not work. you video is only a few minurtes long but its taken over a hours worth of footage to make it. i know ou have done a lot of work and you like the auto tracker. but auto tracker is not new. avermedia have it as standard on all there DVRs and it works but only because it needs alarm settings to activate it (it will auto track for a reason) if you type warrenty for PTZ with auto tracker into google you will see just how bad auto tracking is. axis 3 years on PTZ if used with auto tracker or motion detect the warrenty is down to 3 months its the same with pano - pelco .

i would look at the winner5 chip or CNB before i would buy effio cameras and if possable not use IR cameras.
-
Hi. you can use these at your existing camera to attach your new lenth of cat5 to your existing cat5 for both video and power to your new location and then just use baluns at new camera and at DVR
