PTZ Longevity safe to buy used?

hi. units that old you will have problems with connections to modern equipment. you need to know the data setup. you could be spending more in data boxes it depends also on how much you are going to be paying 3k at that time was the going rate but over time camera res has gone up alot so dont expect to get images as you do from PTZs of today. what will you be using them with dvr type. do you want to move them remotly over network

hi. take a look at Direct Burial cat5 (self seals) on detection of water and its only a few $ more than standard cat5 long term yes cat5 is much better you can do much more with it.
  6. hi rubixs. your dvr is a old avtech. you need to load this onto your pc then open your file. http://downloads.rhinoco.com.au/products/dvr4chsov5h264/dvr4chsov5h264-remoteclient-setup-0.1.1.4.exe you cant open your files with other software and with you being in the UK you cant use any editing software if you need it for court use.

Record IP Cameras from a differnt network

hi. if you are running cables then i would use analog cameras over the foscam (you in the same price range as CNB). but you would need a dvr . what sort of area are you looking to cover. for low bandwidth and a good camera is the mobotix M12 is a very good camera for a gated area. i will PM you a ip address of a M12. have a play zoom resolution and alarms also login at night and see how it is in low light ............ its cheaper than 8 foscams and setup.
  9. hi sounds like a old type controller in which case you need to terminate either via dip switch or resistor. which controller are you using ??

Record IP Cameras from a differnt network

hi you will need a PC ... have you bought and installed the foscams ??? like has already been said a good local network is going to be needed. your cams are wifi which is going to be a problem by itself. are you going to power the cameras from 1 location ?? i wish you had found this forum before you bought cameras. ...... foscams are standard cameras with added wifi. if you use IP MP you will find you can get your camera count down to 2 or 3 cameras if you are just monitoring security gates.
  11. Why *wouldn't* I want to have access to the settings of the camera without climbing a ladder? Isn't part of the point of making the OSD remotely accessible to USE it? it depends on which CNB camera you have. but OSD is used for setup once set thats it. which camera do you have ?

Would like opinions on a WDR camera

    If i get a EYEsurv FULL D1 8 channel....

hi. the Dahua will give you good images. D1 at 7fps is good if you want more FPS then you will need the 30fps Dahua D1 on all channels. as far as cameras all these that say 700tvl are when the cameras are in b/w mode. (sales pitch that make cam specs look better) 700tvl = 650 in the real world.
  14. Hi. pro PSS ............. you have a dahua DVR. (Zeus DVR) you can download direct from link. http://www.qvissecurity.com/support/PSSInstallv4.03.zip
  15. Hi. with the maplins unit you can also connect to a tv via scart. and BNC monitor out on your DVR. switch off your dvr and restart. then you will see your menu options again and set your res again.

  17. thats a big claim. if you had the info via PM. do homework first. and if they cant be bothered to post on your thread then i would say they are not from the UK.
  18. Hi. with 26 i would not daisy chain. if you have to. daisy in banks of 5. are you connecting to dvr or just controllers .... which cameras and dvrs will you be using. with using 26 PTZs it is well worth you also adding a alarm box so you can add detectors in some areas

same units. as far as cards still dahua but high end have some good software from hikvision
  20. not many DVRs will give you setup control from there 485 connection. you could use the CNB remote unit. why do you need to set your CNB

Cant decide on a DVR - Recommendations?

weldex by far over q-see but at $2k for the weldex 16 way. i would also add dahua to your list. Dahua 16 Pro dual core D1 wifi/3-4g or the new Dahua 16 hybrid wifi/3-4g
  22. hi. to do that you would need to buy a new system. cheap systems are what they are.......... you cant swap and change software.
  23. these will give problems in a DVR. look for WD black. it is much better to buy with HD fitted.
  24. things like this are junk. even just a reply to your post has saved you money. did you know its direct from china (not UK or USA) and never send money to a place you dont have contact or address ip address shows its registered here

    PTZ 360 Motion

hi. since motion needs detection a PTZ can only see what is in view. for 360 you can have a PTZ with 4 alarm inputs and add 4 motion detectors below your PTZ pointing N-S-E-W then you have 360 detection.
