i. you will need the client software to open view your files. you will also need to give a copy of your client to the police with your footage. download it direct to pc from this link if you dont have the cd that came with your unit. http://www.digimerge.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/DigiClient-v2.14.11-for-the-DHU500R-Series.zip

Video monitoring without electrical power
tomcctv replied to FarmerCharlie's topic in General Digital Discussion
a very low power unit is the aver nano. if you are looking at adding IP i dont know what your friends budget is but you can run mobotix on the aver. mobotix are by nature a low powered IP you can buy them as a full solar kit unit -
sanyo used to sell them. you might still find someone who has stock left. Sanyo DSR-M810H240. sanyo/ everfocus/ pano all used to sell single channel ....... but like soundy says they found out it was just better to sell 4 ways and not use 3 channels. plus for some silly reason a single channel from both sanyo and everfocus were stupid money $900. in the uk PV-1000 is used by many people as a single channel dvr. link out for use of a bigger monitor

What is the most reliable Dome camera?
tomcctv replied to creativecgprods's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. some of the speco models are good and samsung if you look for the ones with the winner5 chip. you will always get a better dome without IR and add extra external lighting. 1 you have missed off your list is the CNB. which are very good cameras for anyones budget. -

Diamond Electronics Multiplexer
tomcctv replied to lp4443's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
hi. a plug will be the start of your problems. if you have gone with new honeywell (and i take it you have more than 1 with going daisy) you are best running the data away from your multiplexer and going with a programmable PTZ controller. if you are using old honeywell (vcl) then thats another problem with some needing a manchester box controller is the way to go then RS 485 and your done. -
Need some advice with DVR problem
tomcctv replied to LillDragun's topic in General Digital Discussion
hi if you need notebook and iphone then dont go proline. they and not mac supported. i would stick to the links soundy has posted. full mac and iphone units with new apps comming out soon. another good way to see how good a dvr is on iphone is to look at the app store website and look at the download counts for the software. or see how good screen shots are. proline dont even bother with images on app store. http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/proline-uk-electronics-ltd/id453435655?mt=8 dahua the DVRs that have been recommended. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/idmss/id438715770?mt=8 -
based on fact and to save people money and problem. to new members of the forum. these are direct from q-see (not me) and i will leave the complaints that costco have listed in the passed 3 month. Step 10) Some of our DVRs do not support Internet Explorer 9, This DVR cannot be seen on Internet Explorer 9 . You will need to downgrade to Internet Explorer 8. The DVR software is not compatible with Internet Explorer 9. shockwave199 both direct from q-see website. SO PLEASE DONT SAY these are MY opinions. you have a PC based system and NOT a TVT. we have seen more TVT/q-see/lorex systems over many years (we are 30 years old this november) you are right q-see has no problem with other rebranded units they sell but you have a windows system (nothing to do with TVT) so you dont know or see the problems from the standalone. windows based or PC are always better and are easy to place add on a standalone is not. its reliant on updates via new software or firmware. and if not available then things like ie9 problems can not be fixed. there is a very good reason for that. 1 its a waste of money and time. this is what the forum is for buying once saves money. it is a massive problem if the dvr is not supported. you can have the best network. pc. router if its not supported its not going to work. like i said TVT has big returns. so has costco (which are under q-see name) not there problem but TVTs as there supplier. q-see now have a new website and i do have a problem with some of there new sales pitches . Q-see brings the $12,000 DVR that the casinos use to catch card cheats down to the price a homeowner can afford. I recommend any home first install (well you just have too)

hi. you will have to list the model avtech you have. if you know the password .... then why not just change everything local ..... also i see you have a Mac. is this the unit you are trying to view it from ???
-
that update is from last year. it has nothing to do with a router is looking at dvr data with IE9. it is not supported. yes you can use ie8 but in a few months most will be on ie9 so then you have NO remote connection there is a reason for a $300 discount
-
i. made BY TVT. something with a $300 discount has a problem. yes it will be fine connected to a monitor but if you want remote viewing then your not going to get it from that model and there is no firmware update
-
hi you only need 1 and you can connect as many PTZs as you like. when you loaded your dvr software it will have also put a few drivers into your device management list. we dont use anything other than moxa (which is 1 in your list) i would not like to guess on 1 for you. but if you contact myplace46 to see which mod he used would be better than getting one that does not work.
-
Hi FarmerCharlie. i would say if you can pay a little more for your converter. the reason being not all have auto setup (cant be seen via device management) without a driver. the aver will also take USB to RS485 for control you also only need 1 for as many PTZs as you want.

Swann vs. Lorex vs. Q-See vs. Night Owl vs. ?

Swann vs. Lorex vs. Q-See vs. Night Owl vs. ?
tomcctv replied to veryken9's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Swann vs. Lorex vs. Q-See vs. Night Owl vs are all TVT brand and at the moment as Q-see have just found out have a big problem with networking (there rturns have gone up 43%) and they have removed alot from there website. qvis. have been around for a long time we have delt with them over 10 years. they do use dahua and rebrand them and they also make cameras in there own factory and also have there own DVR and NVR. dahua is not new to the DVR market ..... i think this is why people call them budget as they dont know dahua company history. 90% of hikvision DVRs and cards are infact dahua and been used by hikvision for over10 years. i do think the name budget is the wrong word to use for dahua (good price yes) May is going to be a good month for full brand new range from qvis DVRs hybrids and some good cameras from both qvis and dahua. -
Brickcom WOB-130Np Review
tomcctv replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
for the 1mp yes it is. yes you could but then yet another cost the data cable is too short so you have to buy the extention as the rj is no longer waterproof plus cable is no longer protected. and like any other warranty ..... not covered if not mounted with there bracket or fixing kit. over a $1000 is getting close to a avigilon 3mp with there software. you are right images and software is good. my problem is $1000 i want cable management and i also want it to be IP67 which it is not. the vent holes bothered me to the point it went back into the box. take a look at yours. would you use it were it can get wet ...... the sunsheld does not even protect the vents from rain No cable managment cable management -
Brickcom WOB-130Np Review
tomcctv replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. the Brickcom WOB-130Np has been sold in the uk for a while. for what you would think is a good price. mmmmmmmmm until you order one .... they dont tell you IT DOES NOT come with the bracket. which you have to buy and you even need the fixing kit to fix to the bracket now it is not a good price at all why split up the costs = paying alot for a 1.3mp over $1000 and then $170 for the bracket and ip67 rated ......... with vent holes ???? -
i see what your idea is now. that site will charge you and you will still have connection problems getting your dvr onto there server. i dont know how much or the make of your DVR but IE9 connection problems and no firmware means its comming to the end of its remote viewing life. looking for a hosting service is going to cost. were you can just change your dvr and have remote viewing on anything IE9 / mac / ipad-iphone / android / windows mobile. and there is also a brand new range of apps comming in may for these DVRs http://www.dahuasecurity.com/English/product.aspx?type=61&&css=1

Can't get DVR on my network for long...
tomcctv replied to bertbig's topic in Digital Video Recorders
hi if your dvr is for home use then you dont need to change anything. its only neded if say you own a gas station and you dont want staff to be able to play with it. same with the network password ..... no need to change (people have to know your ip) to get in. -
Can't get DVR on my network for long...
tomcctv replied to bertbig's topic in Digital Video Recorders
hi. your dvr like many others can be locked via password this stops people from changing all your settings. yours is admin 111111. this password has nothing to do with remote viewing. then you have network passwords which you need to remote view. from new your log on (over network) is admin for user name and admin for password -
Hi millie. viewing your system from home (local network) you do not need to use your noip account. you only need your local ip address of your dvr. it would be something like 192.168.1.xx. all you need to do is give the people involved your NOip address and they just need to download the activex they will see on there first time connection ... and most dvrs will load a icon on there desktop. you might want to setup some user accounts first (from your dvr) to limit them to what settings they can control.
