Help needed with the final planing of my home CCTV system
tomcctv replied to Warren's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
hi. everything is no name. specs are also a bit mixed up. your 8 way is a 4 way card with 4 way extention. (so half what spec says) all the rest are CIF. spend that much on a PC and card. you will get alot more if you buy a standalone full D1 25fps -
What is the "Spot" BNC connector for?
tomcctv replied to ssnapier's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
Hi ssnapier. it depends on the dvr. some will just show 1 camera and some dvrs you can pick and display any camea. most of the time you would use it for say a public display monitor by a door way in a store. or have all cameras switching 1 at a time -
Hi john. sorry i have to ask but is your mouse fully working ......... i know it sounds daft but most people only use the left button on there mouse. just right click on your desktop screen and see if you get >>> view / sort / refresh / new. but all avers have had drag and drop with right mouse button in all PC and standalone units for years. what happends when you use imatrix direct on your screen at dvr ...... click on yellow buttom in top right of each image. ???

hi. depends on what you mean by oil pumps ..... is this heating oil ??? nothing to do with if you can use footage in court. what you might be mistaken for is if the installer is registered (electrical code) for installing in a high risk area. are you north or south Ireland. ??

hi. first step would be to pull 1 fuse at a time from your power unit. pull fuse 1 then look at your monitor see if it stops if not put fuse 1 back then try fuse 2 and so on.
-
hi. it looks like you have a ground problem. you may have a bad power supply or you need to do some new connections on your cameras power and BNCs. looking at your picture it looks as if another image is rolling over (you can see another image at bottom of your screen)
-
Hi. your lens should just plug direct into your KC4300bk looking at the manual.
-
hi john. all avers are drag and drop if you have multiple screens you can even drage from 1 monitor to another. in standard screen click on image you want to move and while holding down the mouse button move the mouse to were you want the image then let go of mouse button.
-
Hi. yes you have 2 options. 1. go to setup then go camera recording then pick cam 3 from the cameras at the top. this will then give you a realtime image of cam 3 with black squires were movment is detected. on the left you will see a slider (motion) turn it dowm till you see no squires. click ok and see how that goes

i would only do a firmware if you need too. remember they dont make your dvr newer . firmware only fixes problems. and DONT use the link in this thead. it is for KPD679ZB you have a KPD679-D if your dvr is working then leave it as it is

Questions from a newbie. Asking for advice (Oh no not again)
tomcctv replied to Mr.J's topic in General Digital Discussion
if your boss is having problems with such a small amount of power used. then just walk away from the job. shockwave199. is right in motion only is not going to save you anything. if you are looking for a unit where the H/drive will go to sleep till your unit detects motion then you have to take into account startup time of HDrive. at which point you will have missed it. $1000 budget ....... for how many cameras ?? -
hacking a CNB-WCL-21S. nothing to hack. if you need OSD you would have to add a board to the components. and its only a fixed lens camera (what are you expecting from it) is it all worth it for a $60 camera
-
Hi. going from old to new will also need you to reset some settings. 1st alarms then 2nd you need to go into camera settings (under camera recording) and reset your motion

The non-IP "HD CCTV" cameras are quite intriguing to me
tomcctv replied to ssnapier's topic in HD Analog
i can see were this thead is going. we are all talking about 2 differant systems. it is best not to get HDcctv mixed up with HD-SDI cctv. mix and match is available with HDcctv but not with HD-SDIcctv. HD-SDI has been around for some years (small broadcasting mobile units tv industry) and the past few years some companies have tried to bring it into the cctv market. take dahua 18 months they have had theres out but never sold Dm did the same only on the market for 3 months. everyone wanted to be the first but the restrictions on cameras did not make it attractive to the sellers. over the past couple of months we have seen HD-SDI cameras come from lots of camera makers like CNB / sunkwang / everfocus. but none have brought out there own recorder. so it looks like now all HD-SDI cameras are built on the same platform its who is going to be first to release a DVR to go with them. we have had all the new DVR/NVR/ Hybrid and HD-SDI price list from dahua all of which get releast in May but HD-SDI does have 1 problem that the lenth of RG59 / 6 100m -
hi. it may also be the reason why your not getting answers here. sorry but what are you going on about. the CNB only has power / and video leads. unless you have the UTP CNB-WCL-21S type. what is it you are doing with it. and no CNB will not give info on internal connections no that cnb does not have OSD
-
hi. not a good idea. you are reloading old software back onto new. if you have used 7.7.0.0125 you will see your display is not the same as the old NV5000 doing import and export is fine if with the same software or making identical units. but should not be used from old to new software. i would uninstall everything from your PC and run 7.7.0.0125
-
hi. which aver do you have. with doing a software change you will need to setup alarms again. also which ports have you used.
-
hi. have you bought this avtech secondhand as this is a old model ??? factory is admin and 0000 to get into full menu. but if secondhand this might of been changed in which case you will need to do a hard reset. the engineers way in is to startup your dvr and wait till loaded then hit the enter button 4 times. if this does not work then yes you need a hard reset. and avtech can be a little problem. its a 50/50 chance it will work.

CYBERDOME ll - going to BW as soon as I put dome cover on
tomcctv replied to JimNorth's topic in Security Cameras
Hi jim. its not settings its a dome match. with clear domes your cameras will be fine but you start getting limits if you use the wrong dome. how are you mounting the PTZ ??? on the dome ring (outer edge mounting of smoked glass) does it say poly or acry polycarbonate is not a good smoke dome and is very limited in use (internal lighting is best) -
