Hi another option is hybrid. the aver nano 4 way will take 4 ip or 4 analog. i would look at 1 good 3 or 5mp to cover the full nail salon and have 3 analog spread out 1 on door way and i would also place 1 outside and if you have a back door i would also install 1 there.

cant do that he is on a standalone DVR ..... all need to be pelco. or have to use a data conversion box at each PTZ or a windows or enbeded system to use and setup another com port. 1 for each protocol. -
Hi that will be direct from your screen display (snapshot button on OSD) images sent by email will only be small referance pictures. with time date stamp so you have a referance to look back via dvr

with your siemens domes only. were you have connected your rs485 you will see 3 brass screws around the base. you have to remove these and then turn your PTZ dome to the right and pull. on the top of the dome you will then see 3 banks of dip switches. protocol set this to pelco -D speed set that to 2400 and the 3rd is the dome address i.e cam 1 or cam 2 just switch 0 to on and the rest off to give you a dome address of 01. put dome back together and set your dvr up as the same = pelco-D 2400 address 01 and see if you can move. also restart everything dome and dvr (power down) -

it would be best if you just list how many domes you have. are they all the same make. how is the data cable run to the cameras. and how far are the domes away from the DVR. and are you looking at just using your dvr to control or with a external contoller as well. -
hi if you are thinking of going hybrid then your only choice is cat5. gahua hybrid is a bit of a slow seller. (its expensive) and is limited to cameras. and for the cost of the 16 (with 4 ip) you can buy the aver for not much more. http://uk.surveillance.aver.com/product/embedded-hybrid-DVR-IWH3216-Touch or . http://www.3xlogic.com/

sorry John. i ment neutral as in - of each camera 1 at a time.

hi yes it is bad. for what power your cameras listed uses then its not good enough. also ohms wise. if you want to see a big improvement then swap all your cables

where are you located??? -
yes a good cable. these cheap cable kits are usless in both getting power to camera and a clean signal. cat5 with baluns or coax with power will give better images.

MIXED SIGNALS ON 1 CHANNEL FROM ALL 8 CHANNELS
tomcctv replied to paul1967's topic in General Digital Discussion
hi. if you have yried power supplies and cables then it looks like a duff camera. just as another test plug the camera direct to a TV and see if you get the same result. -
sorry i missed out page 1. yes if he goes for the gold into a dedicated server. but reading page 1 of posts. there is an easy way. with avers if he buys a unit say 16 way then that will do just the same. as all avers can take a number of cameras from any dvr over the internet and combine with any aver dvr. so if he has 4 cameras at 1 location he can pick others from any other location to fill the 16 screens

hi. do you have the adroid app recommended by DVR maker ? -
not with a iphone in the uk he can use both (wifi as in hotspot) outside his own network. but what you do have to do is set 2 IP addresses up on the idmms his local ip for at home and his external ip for away from his network.

aver will do what you need. CMS will look after 1000 cameras if you need more the cms pro. the good thing is it gives you multi screens emap. alarm record (3fps) ptz control (external dvr setup) and free ddns service. but only works with aver .... both analog and IP .(most IP if ran via a aver) http://uk.surveillance.aver.com/product/CM3000

tomcctv replied to Lancillotto's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
read first post. question 2 its still NO fiona can i ask when was the last time YOU fitted a PTZ with mixed protocols ?????? must have been just in the past week or so. because it was only last month you was asking how a protocol works. the siemans is an old system there controller is limited to protocol commands but there cameras have most of the standard protocols loaded. however the siemans PTZs are old and need to be terminated but another problem is the domes dont have a termination switch so either the siemans termination box needs to be fitted to each dome or a resistor needs to be put in place. but there are other ways around that but we need to know how the data cables have been run -

tomcctv replied to Lancillotto's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
if you are now saying you have a mix of PTZs along with your siemens then you are going to have to list how you have wired them daisy or star. and you are going to have to say IF you only need to control all from the DVR or you need to run both controller and DVR. -

love the way you ADD none existing things to posts. first post...... and the answer is still no. what we do need to find out is .... is the op removing the controller from the data cable when he changes DVR and PTZ to pelco. if the controller is still in line this will also stop any command. -

tomcctv replied to Lancillotto's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Fiona. read the posts then you might understand. and also look at the ops picture of PTZ settings (pelco_p) if the op uses the dome and the controller then yes they work together (BUT NOT ON PELCO PROTOCOL) the PTZ has most protocols in its menu including pelco-p pelco-d linil ....... the DVR also has PELCO. so DVR and PTZ are a match DVR ---- Siemens controller (no pelco) ------ PTZ = no data control unless a converter is added but its cheaper to change the controller DVR------pelco controller ------ PTZ = will work no problem. -

tomcctv replied to Lancillotto's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
the DVR is fine .... it does pelco as does the dome ....... but the controller will not do pelco without add to it. -
Siemens CCDA1435 e CKA4820
tomcctv replied to Lancillotto's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
the problem is your CKA4820 DOES not do pelco. you either use a manchester box or converter box both of which cost more than a little Pelco controller
