please dont get drawn in by TVL this is the mistake most people make. if you are using external lighting then your TVL means nothing at night. -

tomcctv replied to Firefighter's topic in System Design
hi. the problem with gadspot is the washout or colour and if you are using flood lights then i would move away from IR and use a TDN camera. you was looking for a good replacement dvr to start ..... and it will only be good if you use good cameras. -
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE SOMEONE HELP
tomcctv replied to ivorbiggun's topic in Computers/Networking
that would have been my guess with you being in oldham. plusnet is very limited if you are on the 6.99 a month then they will block your service or add charges to your service. did you have a list of ports or just make some up. -
good budget. but i dont think you need to go that far on most of your cameras. can you take a pic from google earth and mark your area ??

Desperate: "thief" cheating our wired CCTV constantly?
tomcctv replied to ThomasSmith's topic in General Digital Discussion
if you buy 1 optex you get the beams and cover if you need hight in your beams you order just the beams and no cover. and buy a fixing cover to the hight of the beams which work out at the same price -

this will just be a waste of money. if you want sensors then use beams two transmmiters is all you need to cove all round a house. PIR. work by detecting heat and movement so you will get some bad alarms. Beams need a fisical break. (by the way you cant see the beam) thats just to show you how they work. also were are you based. if you think they have your phone monitored most phone companies have a test number to see if its tapped. in the uk its 1707 i wont give the last number. but this can tell you alot about your phone. and even if they are next door and they have linked to yours you can make that phone ring. -

yes on the avtech it will affect it. you are best connecting your dvr upto a DVD recorder of a usb recorder to get your footage off first. then do what was in the PM. -

shotgun cable 18awg power for ptz camera
tomcctv replied to crow's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
hi. qvis needs 24v and 2 amp at camera. are you running power to cameras from dvr location or camera end. -
like i said posts back its a 4x4 box. i think a case as big as this the footage would have gone through its water mark and electronic signature tests. your hungup on a SD system...... as you have seen there are two DVRs used hence the reason the box is still there. everyone can guess till the cows come home about the guys case ..... and i think it belongs here than on a cctv forum http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1093416/pg1
