DVR Mouse Operation thru IP KVM

like op has said and i have said LOCAL with a IP kvm on anything other than a pc he will not get mouse control. local he would not need a IP kvm. he would just need extender KVM which is copycat from 1 kvm to another. so no comprestion is needed. but the guy will not answer if he is away from each dvr .... remote ... or if he is doing all this local.

DVR Mouse Operation thru IP KVM

soundy because we use ip KVN for central stations. slingbox. ..... image never leaves the slingbox ..... it does not send out you are connecting to it and watching its stream from onboad media server. why are we talking USB ??? i see for the mouse ...... that is not going to work either. ill tell you what happends if you TRY and do it that way. VGA to IPKVM then it has to compress and format now that makes the mouse usless (the raw video has been altered) so no control you only have to read the Startech manual (of the one listed) IT cant take VGA .... only vga and usb is used to config the unit ... ports on back only take data. if you call the guy back at startech and ask him will there KVM take raw video from vga. see what he says. the video and the mouse ... needs to be compress to gether in the same format to work. he has two formats video from vga mouse from usb ... you cant put them back together at remote end. even the other one listed .......... he has no way of connecting his vga.

    Image chip from usb camera

No you cant do that. it will not work. also are you expecting to get HD from it if you could ??? you could just swap internals over. but then you would end up with a IP camera so then cant connect to dvr.

i understood your post from the start. i thought i did. then you post this can i ask do you know the difference between local and remote viewing ???? ARE YOU AND ALL 8 DVRs IN THE SAME BUILDING ??

DVR Mouse Operation thru IP KVM

like i said many posts back there is a KVM server. but the cost is 12k (for and for you to spend that type of money makes no sence at all. sit back make a cup of coffee and think about it ......... you can change all your $100 DVRs for ones that have a good CMS (full control) for half the cost. But the big question and its been asked before. WHY do you want to watch the channel Tour. your systems dont record cannel tours why is this a problem for you. why do you want to set up your systems like this What is the reason for it ???

DVR Mouse Operation thru IP KVM

ok another way. and it still will NOT work. your local........ DVR to your PC next to it. connection will be lan ....... so you call your dvr screen to your pc. then you go IP KVM sorry but is that not the same as remote viewing. (dvr -WAN -remote PC) you are looking for the OSD that is only from your VGA. if your DVRs have managment remote you would have no problem .... but your dvr only has remote viewer and CMS. i have just thought about what you are trying to do. is it. all 8 of your dvrs back to 1 location ..... (1 screen) and you want to set a camera tour ???

DVR Mouse Operation thru IP KVM

soundy from posts way back it is vga to KVM ....... the one you have listed has no connection for VGA .... Really? Then why does the back look like this? Looks to me like a standard connector for a VGA/PS2/USB KVM cable... yes they do. but you only need to click on the install manual on the same page and it tells you they are not for VGA ..... it is data only connection to PC computor port connectors nothing to do with VGA .. ok will try and put it another way. KVM listed ..... you are only sending data from connected PCs to remote pc. anything over the net is data this guy wants to send raw video from his standalone DVR ...... (direct from his VGA output) so he has connection problems 1. he cant talk back via his VGA (its output only) so he cant even get a ip address to even set the KVM up ..... then and this is what he wants ..... he still has no mouse control. as mouse is not sent out via vga. if the guy had PC based systems like i did say back in second post he could do what he needs. but standalone $100 dvr. no. but the other way to look at his problem. KVM listed is $880 ....... the guy can change every dvr he has for ones that will give him full control via mouse .... that will save him paying $880 just to move a mouse. but still for what he wants. slingbox is made for. and it works

  15. you will have problems not using the ports. i think you are just getting mixed up with your local and external ip address. hence the reason why you cant view on your iphone. your using a avtech dvr...... its had a app for years

DVR Mouse Operation thru IP KVM

soundy from posts way back it is vga to KVM ....... the one you have listed has no connection for VGA .... the vga you see in the picture is for local setup of unit only . the only way he could get the link you posted to work would be to have a pc at each location have the dvr networked to the pc ............. but thats the problem he dose not want the remote screen as thats all he gets from the dvr network. the KVM listed does not take vga direct. and we are best of looking at bios..... he is on a standalone no access, http://ca.startech.com/Server-Management/KVM-Switches/4-Port-USB-VGA-IP-KVM-Switch-with-Virtual-Media~SV441DUSBI

    Cat5 and multiple cameras

how many cameras are you needing at each location. am not a fan on running power over coax. what you can do is run 2 cameras over your single coax and use the cat5 for the power 2 pair for each camera which leaves you a pair for audio / data / or IR
  18. sorry but nothing was hidden cameras part numbers and make ...... cant do much more than that when we dont even know were the op is based. but i will reply to wrong prices $760 for a analog camera is not right from CNB as far as huviron jay is a member of the forum he may give price and distributor.

DVR Mouse Operation thru IP KVM

thats for a pc ..... so network out of pc to ip KVM that works. he is looking for VGA to ip KVM then out to network. you cant send vga video without it being compressed.

DVR Mouse Operation thru IP KVM

i think we are getting lost somewere. i only know of 1 IP KVM that can compress and format vga for the internet, $1.600 none of the KVM listed on this post can do what the op is looking for as he has already found out.
  21. yes thats right channel 1 upto 5mp channel 2-3-4 upto 1.3mp ...... max in total is 8mp but you can push to 10.

    Cat5 and multiple cameras

Hi. yes you can run 4 analog cameras from 1 cat5 you just need to change the ends of each cat5 to rj45 network plugs. then you can use 4 way baluns at dvr end and at loft end. but you will need either local power in your loft or run a power feed. this is a good type to buy if you dont have network tools (crimps)

DVR Mouse Operation thru IP KVM

that would be ok if its just a KVM extender needed. this guy wants to control 8 remote locations via IP KVM. and since you cant plug vga direct into IP kvm thats a problem.

DVR Mouse Operation thru IP KVM

yes it can be done and easy. IF pc based. this guy only has vga out on a standalone . none of the KVMs listed will take and convert his vga. there is some out there but the problem is there $1.600 each he will need 8 of them $12.600 ....... sorry but to just change a dvr tour on a monitor is alot of money. much better just to change all 8 $100 DVRs for a make he has full control over direct from the remote viewer
